My short visit there was as expected. That being said, I expected to wait a while since that's typically the story whenever I go to a Party City store. I had called in advance and asked if they could fill my own balloons with helium and add ribbons. They said they could and quoted the cost for each. I walked in and was greeted right away by three girls filling balloons. Seems like they had a large order. One of the girls took my order and I paid for 7 balloons to be filled. The store was prepping for Halloween. There is SO much stuff to look at. I get overwhelmed and I could do so much crafting with what they have. It's like, wow. After a stroll up and down the aisles, I head back to the counter to check on progress. The young girl is working to get my order. Meanwhile, another young girl working on balloons and answering the phone too. She is basically trying to schedule an interviews for an open position. Frankly, I think she should have called the person back instead of trying to multi-task. All in all, I waited about 15 minutes for my balloons to be filled. Not bad. This is a busy location. Like I said, I know whatever I do there is going to take awhile. I've never NOT had to wait to get help or check out. It's just the way it is. Plan ahead. You'll likely be waiting. read more

I just left this store and the service was horrible. I needed a balloon with the number 21 on it I stood by the ballon counter and the girl can see me standing there but doesn't ask me if she can help. I had to get her attention and asked her if there were any balloons with the number 21 on it and she said no. She said they only had the individual numbers. As I looked at the wall behind her I saw a balloon with a 21 on it. I told her I wanted the balloon and she then told me I needed to order the balloon with the cashier. I stood there for a while and she never told me the balloon had to be ordered with the cashier. I then went to the cashiers and she was not friendly . She looked unhappy and talked low. I ordered ahead for a pick up because I am visiting Mesa and Tempe Arizona to see my family for the holidays. My granddaughter is turning three and I wanted to get a couple of birthday queen hats for her. She was very particular about what she wanted and I was able to find it online at party city. I went to pick it up and, although there was a line for the registers I was able to just walk up to the pick up area and they handed it to me. Quick and easy and very friendly. The only thing that bothered me was that some of the workers were wearing their mask not covering their noses and I am just too afraid to get sick for that. read more

My son and I bought lots of party essentials and ordered the extra large numbered balloons in 16 for his 16th birthday. Olive helped us and took our balloon order for a few days later. When I arrived to pick up, the balloons were all ready to go! They were huge. I drive an Audi Q3 and had to put down the back seat to fit the balloons. I am not upset at this location ; i am upset at the business. I have ordered balloons for my locations grand openings about 4 times from 4 different locations and there is no consistency. Each location blames the other location and states that they shouldn't be doing that , Doing what providing a great customer service . All i requested was 30 balloons for pick up for a grand opening 24 ahead of time and each location gives me a different answer. I work in the customer care industry and i know that the intent of every customer interaction is the customer leaving happy and wanting to come back . I do not feel this way with Party City as a company ; The only reason i continue to order from them is because it is unrealistic to carry around a tank . Staff is not honest with the item. I was buying a costume and the staff told me that they have a plus left. I asked what is the plus; she said it is just better than standard. She did not mention the fitting room and final sale. After I found out that the plus means the size of the cloth. I drove back immediately and try to refund for the money. I went into this party city location looking for decorations for my best friends birthday party. It was really busy because it was a Saturday. After I had found all my party supplies, I went up to the balloon preparation desk and asked the employee (Devin) for the balloons I wanted. I could clearly tell that she was swamped with orders as there were many people waiting but she was still very helpful and nice to me regardless. She worked so fast and efficiently while still answering questions that customers would ask her. I felt bad for not preordering my balloon bouquet but I was very thankful she was able to help me with out making it feel like it was an inconvenience for her. We've been to this location three times, I think we have tried to be fair and non-judgmental, but on each visit the customer service has been little to none! Like another review stated, they are too busy playing with the balloons to help customers. If you are going to play with the balloons, at least acknowledge me while we wait for you to be done with the balloons. We initially went in here to buy a bubble machine and Minecraft party supplies for my daughter. The Minecraft wasn't true Minecraft products. But we ended up not buying your traditional bubble machine. We found a cool tiki bubble machine. On a whim we changed our theme to tiki all because of the cool bubble machine. read more

Last minute shop, got home, found missing accessories, got to go back to the store where you purchase is the only solution, u can't pick up from other location, no transfer stock or delivery with each other branch. Terrible experience! I came in for a few balloons on a Friday at noon. There was one woman working the cashier. I was sent to the balloon counter to wait for someone to come and assist me. No one ever came. Finally after assisting 3 other customers she returned to help me. Super frustrating experience when I was only coming in for a few balloons. I made a quick trip here to get a tiara for the birthday girl before heading to her birthday dinner. I was planning to be in and out within 5 minutes, but that didn't go as planned. I chose the tiara with no problem because they didn't have a big selection for adults. I proceeded to the checkout counter, and this was where my patience was tested. I was next in line while another woman was being checked out. She left to find another item that she could purchase. Fine, she couldn't be that long, right? Wrong! There were three workers there, so I asked the girl at the counter if anyone else could check me out. I had one item in hand, which could have easily been rung up and done within 2 minutes, max. Her response, "yes, he could, but he's busy with the balloons." Really? You couldn't ask him to quickly ring me up? Would I be taking him out of his helium filled wonderland? I stood there for what seemed like forever, staring at all three, and they all stared back. No one did or said anything. Finally, one of them came to her senses and asked "are you ready to be checked out?" Uh, really? No, I was just standing here because I have nothing better to do with my time. It might be time to hire people over the age of 15, because this kind of customer service will surely keep people away. I have been to this location on four separate occasions, each time they have one poor soul manning the whole store, cash register, balloons, incoming calls, customer questions, returns, etc. Tonight Keith is the manager on shift and as soon as a crowd walked in he walked straight to the back and left Destiny to handle everything on her own. Seven of us have been waiting for at least 15-20 minutes for balloons and Keith finally walks out with a negative/ sassy attitude to help us while eating and texting. This place is good if you want a certain kinda theme they moved to a bigger location so they pretty much have everything your looking for and then some. I highly doubt they are ever out of stock. Staff is friendly and I got greeted by almost all the staff (which was very nice) they go over and beyond when they do help you. A coupon or two would be good to have handy if not be willing to splurge. The price range is why I rated this spot a three. It's not the people it's the company. Will I be back? I literally could have gone in and picked out the same items and bought them in the regular line. I was regretting using the website. Excuse me while I rip out my hair for a moment. I am a nanny for two children, and we were on a quest to find them both Halloween costumes. One of them is terrified of the Spirit Halloween stores in the valley, and this was the only place he wasn't too afraid to go to, so away we went. For starters, this place is dirty, cluttered, and unorganized. The girl I watch had little problem picking out a costume, but the boy couldn't find anything that fit right or met his expectations. Finally, he found a Luigi costume he liked, but they didn't have his size. We left the first night putting the girl's costume on hold (so her mom could pick it up, since they don't take debit cards) and nothing for the boy in hopes of finding his costume at a different Party City. When I picked the kids up from school a couple days later, they had gone with their mom to pay for the girl's costume and buy the boy a Wario costume. The Wario costume in the store had broken when he tried it on, and when he got home, the new costume broke in the exact same place. So we took it back. And he found another costume he liked, and I again had to put his costume on hold for his mom to pick up. The cashier did not write down the mom's name because her pen didn't work and simply said, "I don't need to write down her name... I'll be here." Needless to say, when their mom came home with the costume, a pretty important piece was missing (and it wasn't missing when we put it on hold), and part of the costume was torn. So for a third time, I trekked back to Party City to see if I could get the missing part. In the end, I did get the part with no apology and part of the costume still ripped. Each time we went, the cashiers were extremely unprofessional and obnoxious. I will NEVER step foot in this place again. read more

We went to the Peoria store and found these cute little Frozen Cameras. They only had two so we left with those. While we were driving we decided to check out another party city and ended up at this location. We went in just for the cameras and found the carousel holder for them (just like in the other store) We didn't find any Frozen cameras. They had Disney princesses, Minnie mouse, Sophia... everything but Frozen. So I went up to the counter to ask if they had any in the back. I showed Daryl the camera we had bought from the first Party City. He just said that whatever they had would be on the frozen isle. (which isn't where it was at the first store, and we had already looked there too). He was very unhelpful. We started to walk out without any cameras. But I decided to go back in and see if they could look it up on the computers inventory, the way the first store had. (The first store said they were getting them in on Wednesday, but since we don't live near phoenix we wouldn't be in town... we live two hours from phoenix in a small town) Anyway, Daryl was still standing there, and I was hoping to get helped by the first lady who seemed friendly and helpful. But Daryl stopped us and I asked if he could look it up and I explained that we had just driven from the Peoria store. To which he asked if we had the store call to see if they had any. I told him we didn't think of that until after we were already on the road. He once again told me that anything they had would be in the frozen section. I wonder what he would have said if we had the other store call. The same thing? Whatever we have is on the shelf. Since he was of no help whatsoever to a customer standing in front of him, how much help would he be to someone who called from across town???? I asked him if he could look in the computers inventory and he basically said no. He said over and over again anything they have would be in the frozen department. I guess they have no back room whatsoever. Every single item is already on the shelves. Obviously he couldn't take the time to help us look for a single item for two seconds or to take the time to look on the computer. Nor did he offer to call any other stores to see if they had them. So we left without the cameras. I'm pretty sure I can't order them online because I have looked before and I didn't see them. Anyway, we will not be returning to this store thanks to Daryl and his poor costumer service. read more
