The person working at the store was friendly and welcoming when I came in. When I told her I was just checking stores out she told me to make myself at home and let her know is I have any questions. As I looked around I noticed several artistically made items. From a set of glasses made from Topo-Chico bottles to handmade Chap Stick, this place had a nice variety of items to choose from. I also noticed while I was there that this place offers arts and crafts classes right in the middle of the store. They also keep some items out on the table to entertain children while their parents shop. It was nice and refreshing to find a store like this, and I plan to visit them on future visits!

If you like vintage shopping THIS is the store for you!…read more Les Muses Vintage is located in the heart of Denton, TX just across from Denton Square between W Oak and N Elm. This amazing store specializes in true vintage ranging from 1940's fashion to 1980's. At the front of the store is where you'll find some of their older pieces, however if you are looking for something "newer" they have a nice selection of 80s Levis and other leather jackets towards the back of the store. I usually don't like to shop at vintage stores because I don't have the patience for it, but this store was so uniquely curated and everything was placed in an order that didn't feel overwhelming. My friend and I were able to find some very unique piece and during the process fell in love with the staff working there. Besides clothing, they also have a lot of vintage accessories as well as home decor. Last but definitely not least, they have an amazing selection of cowboy boots for men. I can't wait to bring back my husband and get him a new pair of boots at this store!

You know, I feel like I rarely step into a vintage shop and think "wow this stuff is actually vintage, cool, and in quality condition" -- but Les Muses is everything you dream of a vintage boutique being. And the prices are fantastic on top of it all. There's clothing and accessories and trinkets and more, from 1920s-era tailor-made, beaded flapper/cloche hats to colorful 1970s-era peasant blouses. There's tons of mannequins brilliantly styled in incredible pieces. A fabulous collection of vintage wedding gowns. Fur coats. Negligées. Stunning hats and scarves and shoes. I discovered a gorgeous deep purple shoulder bag/purse from the 60s while Jon found a 1970s-era button up with tiny rainbow colored pinstripes. We're both really excited about our new pieces! I feel I'd need a special occasion lined up to justify buying most of the dresses and hats I admired, at least until I'm ready (and wealthy enough) to exclusively dress in vintage pieces. In the meantime I'm happy with purchasing a single treasure every now and again. The woman working during our visit was lovely and kind and I could tell she enjoys her work and this beautiful shop. What a cool spot!…read more We turned one street too early by mistake, but I'm not mad about it! There in the old Small Fry building we saw a sign for Denton Vintage Market! I wouldn't have known if we hadn't randomly driven by. Our curiosity made us stop to check it out. FYI, don't be deterred by the construction out front. The parking lot is in the back, as is the entrance. We walked past a sign about shopping local and then we were immediately smacked in the face by all sorts of eye candy!! This is essentially a store built of local vendor booths, so there is a ton of variety when it comes to the different products and price ranges. I was really impressed by how reasonable most of the prices were and how different so many of the products were. Also, this place is like a Mary Poppins bag, everywhere I looked there was another new room. I never realized this building had this type of square footage from the outside. In one room I discovered a section of Small Fry items, that was so nice! I'm including pictures because I couldn't possibly tell you how extensive the selection is for children's clothing, toys, adult clothing, purses and totes, home décor, jewelry, skin care and even furniture. I saw multiple vintage tea sets, an old coffee pot and some really cool luggage. I really wish I had discovered this place before the holidays, I found so many perfect and unique items for all the different people in my life. The staff is lovely and there was some delicious hot chocolate there as well! They are open Wednesdays through Saturdays and they were also advertising upcoming painting classes. However, I don't know if we caught them on a bad day, if their inventory was really low after Indie Bookstore Day the weekend before, or if the stars just weren't aligned that day but the store itself was very empty. The book selection was minimal and the staff was not exactly helpful. Frankly the store felt too big for the minimal amount of books they had. Also customer service was absent that day and after asking some questions to the person at the counter you could tell he just didn't want to be there. The difference in customer interaction between this store and others around Denton was like night and day. Would I come back to Patchouli? Maybe, but it wouldn't be my first stop when visiting Denton.

And you create a space that honors the building and updating it with warm wood and fixtures, you're doing it right in my opinion. I loved the selections offered here and so did my daughters and granddaughter. Yes, I bought books here and my granddaughter was thrilled. There's a dedicated children's area with nice seating for them. There was a touch of magic there. Kids were happy and couldn't wait to get to the next book. That is what a book store is supposed to be about. I met the owners and both are genuinely nice and they care about their customers and their business. Both are very knowledgeable and more than happy to help in any way. If you're in Denton, you need to drop in and browse around - I bet you walk out with a great book!

Recycle Books Records is a true Texas gem!…read more This amazing used bookstore and record store is located in the heart of Denton, TX inside a 100+-year-old opera house. They have been independently and family-owned for over 40 years, and they are a must-stop for all book and music lovers out there. This store is HUGE with over half-a-million books, movies, music and memorabilia. However, I think what makes them extra special is the curated selection of Horror and Thriller books, including some very unique collectibles. I am more into contemporary, so keep in mind those books are located on the top floor of their second building. Their children's book section was also incredible but frankly I didn't have the patience to go through them. This store can be a little overwhelming so definitely take a breath and ask for help if you can't find the genre you are looking for.

They verbally confirmed we paid for those items. When we returned to pick up our items they said we had to pay again! We have the receipt. They are refusing to acknowledge they agreed that we paid for items. We requested video evidence from their cameras proving the clerk didn't handle those items. They refused to prove their case. I'm starting to be suspicious that they hold back items to steal from customers!
