Can almost always find something cute shopping here! The new taco spot in the food court is really good. :)

3-26-2022 Auntie Anne's and fitness connection

3-26-2022 First time at this mall, joined my partner for the card show/comic con weekend event. This event brought some crowds to the mall. Vendors set up in the aisles and some celebrity signings. The mall is one story and overall small compared to others. There are still some big stores here. Dillards, H & M, Barnes & Noble, JcPenney, Victoria's Secret, Pink, Ross, Bath & Body works, Conns, Fitness connection and a Movie theater. Auntie Anne's near the fitness connection. There is a massage place near Dillards. A piano player in the middle corridor. Stores were stocked, clean and orderly. Pleasantly surprised the Dillards had a mens section for brands Hurley, Volcom and Quicksilver, dressing rooms were open and the staff was friendly helpful and knowledgeable about clothing materials and shrinkage. They had a Vera Bradley new Disney design in the purse/bag section. I will mention while shopping in the Dillards, I noticed the presence of security that felt like they were following me from dept. to dept. If you like the quick in and out type of mall, this is the place.

With seven anchor stores (Barnes & Noble, Macys, Dillard, DSW, JC Penny, Sears, and Ross), you can usually find what you NEED at Golden Triangle. The thing is, if you don't need anything, you probably would not WANT to visit this mall as it just isn't all that great of a place to walk around and shop. Recently, some of the odd specialty shops have also been disappearing, leaving empty storefronts that give a more derelict feel. I was about to give two stars, but I do like the Barnes & Noble, so three stars (barely) from me.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm just not feeling it today. Nope.

One choice in the food court, with that being Pizza. There are numerous empty storefronts, a sad departure from the glory days of the past.

It used to be a decent small mall, but it's kind of a desert, now. Barnes & Noble is holding it up. Denton deserves a better mall.

The Golden Triangle Mall definitely isn't as upscale as, say, Galleria Dallas or Stonebriar Centre in Frisco.

We were to go to the store, pick out another mattress to exchange with the bad one. We went to the store in Denton two different times within the 30-day deadline. Each time the employee we talked to did not want or did not know how to deal with a replacement. Both times the employee went to get a manager, and both times no manager came out to talk to us. The last time we waited over 30 minutes and no one came out to talk to us, neither the employee or manager. You can have your mattress back and refund our money so we don't have to deal the constant disrespect from the Denton's store employees and management.

I recently came across their online map of the plans, which helped me realize it is all the same marketplace, and I see this will include more apartment complexes, hotels and doctors offices, in addition to the theatre. In the meantime your grocery needs can be met with Walmart, Sam's (and their gas pumps) and Winco, which is a good selection for cheap prices. Though, it's not technically part of the plot, and just next to it, I'm looking forward to the HEB! There is a great Race Trac right on the edge of it and it is close to the highway, making it convenient to get to both sides of the marketplace going to or from I35. They currently have a minor emergency and several medical offices, including dentists. I'm not sure what the future medical offices will include, but other such shopping centers in nearby towns have an extensive selection. From the plans, it looks like it may eventually become a one stop medical complex as they've dedicated the space. Shopping is varied with a Kohls, Academy, Guitar Center, JoAnns, Petco and smaller retail stores. The T-Mobile here is the one I prefer, so it adds to my reasons to be over here despite my aversion to crowds. There are multiple places to purchase mattresses and furniture, with a Rooms To Go coming soon. There are additional services like banking, hair cuts and salon services that will include the Massage Envy opening next year. They are also adding educational and entertainment options as well. The restaurants are varied from fast food to fast casual to sit down. The Raising Canes and In N Out are quite popular, but I see the crowds flocking to Chilis and Freebirds frequently... and of course the Starbucks! The Kung Fu Tea is a newer addition that adds to the diversity. I feel the selection is good for different moods, though not necessarily outstanding quality to choose from at this time. They are continuing to add new restaurants, so that might change. I do miss Cheddars, and look forward to one being in Denton soon. The original side of the marketplace has very skinny parking spaces and the lots are very crowded. It may be too early to tell, but as of now it looks like they are trying to remedy across the street. Both sides have multiple entrances and exits and that does help in managing the traffic. I know many of us are sick of construction and it has tapered off quite a bit in the last few months, but it appears it isn't done yet. When all is said and done though, some of us may not need to travel for retail needs in a year or two. In any case, this shopping center has a lot of momentum, and I look forward to seeing the developments.

The mix of shops is fantastic, with a great balance of familiar favorites and more unique boutiques. I stop into a few stores regularly, but what I really love is that it's not just about shopping. It's the atmosphere: open, clean, and beautifully maintained. Whether I'm grabbing an ice cream, wandering with a coffee, or just finding a shady bench to sit and catch up on work with my laptop, it always feels like a mini escape. There are several fantastic restaurants throughout the square as well. We dine at them on a regular basis, or grab a quick bite when on a mission running errands. (see my other reviews for those) During the holidays, they go all out with the decorations, and winter is especially magical when the ice rink goes up. I've never actually skated on it due to rain or the crowds, but I love watching families have fun on it, and it makes me smile. Parking can get a little tricky on weekends or during events, but it's manageable, and honestly, I never mind walking a bit when the weather's nice. The area feels safe, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. Check the calendar though because they always have events throughout the year, and some of them are amazing.

This was our third year coming here for Easter pictures because it had become a family tradition,…read morebut unfortunately the experience has gotten worse each year. Last year, they had computer issues and asked us to move our appointment time after we had already arrived with the kids dressed and ready. We understand that things happen, but having to waste an extra hour with little ones in full Easter outfits was incredibly frustrating. Fast forward to this year, and somehow the experience was even more disappointing. We scheduled our appointment for 11:30 and arrived early at 11:15 with our whole crew ready to go, only to walk into complete chaos. They were unable to print pictures, had staff on speakerphone asking for help, and were checking families in in a way that came across as rude and unprofessional. The first appointment of the day took nearly an hour just to receive their prints and leave, which immediately backed everything up. What was most frustrating was seeing walk-ins taken before scheduled appointments while staff appeared to still be setting up on Easter weekend. Again, we understand that technical issues happen, but the lack of preparation, professionalism, and communication made this a really disappointing experience for our family. What started as a tradition is now something we're seriously reconsidering for next year.
