While looking found that some of the prices for small things were more then just a regular box store like Target or Walmart. We have lived in Reno for 19 years and for 18 of them, I have used Party America for my kids' birthdays and celebrations. They are always so professional in their recommendations and suggestions. They truly listen to party planners and after they make suggestions, they let you browse around to decide for yourself. The balloon bouquets last for days upon days. In the past, they even special ordered things that were very specific to the birthday theme I had in mind (Harry Styles cardboard standee). Tiny place. Went Halloween shopping and the lady said they had to move all their costumes for an event, but had no idea when the costumes would be back. Current costume selection was very limited to two baskets. They had party decorations though which we were not there for. There were also broken liquor bottles at the parking spots by the store... sadly we will not be returning. I'm devastated! Nothing I was looking for today was available. Not birthday Paw Patrol party items, not plain or solid or colored small gift bags, or stickers. In fact, the store resembled a major going out of business event, because most of the isles had huge gaps where merchandise should be. Great staff. Tons of stuff. Only this year it seems like I have been spending more time in this place. I guess the events I'm attending are getting a little more wilder and fun. Beads for Reno Bites MardiGras night were easy to find here, as was a large selection of many different kinds of masks - from simple to way fancy. And with Fantasy in Chocolate coming up, a Bohemian Circus costume is needed. The idea possibles are immense and prices are too bad. Walk in with that overwhelmed face and a staffer will immediately ask if they can help you. Thank goodness. The staff here is always friendly and helpful! Today I took some balloons in for filling and Beth made sure they all looked great! I brought some potential disasters that I bought from Amazon, but she made the best with what I gave her, arranging some of the "duds" if you will, with the normal ones in a really cute way. She was also happy to help, even though I had purchased my balloons elsewhere. The prices to inflate them were super reasonable and they were fast. I even arrived at about 8:50 this morning and they let me come in 10 minutes before they were supposed to open. They are my go-to for balloons here in town. I don't typically browse the party supplies, but when I've realized in store that I'm missing something I need, they always have it. For a local retail business to treat customers the way my family and I were treated is unacceptable. We walked in to a dimly lit store, and were "greeted" by a woman who promptly told us we are closing in 15 minutes, keep that in mind, gave a dirty glare and walked away. As my family and I walked the aisles looking for party favors and decorations for my daughters birthday, the woman kept glaring down the aisle at us twice. So we left at 5 till, as to not upset this incredibly rude woman. We bought nothing nor will I in the future. Incredibly sad as I would prefer to keep my money local even if it cost a few dollars more. It seems based on the previous reviews this is standard customer service for this place. One of the only party stores I've found in Reno. They have everything you need for a birthday or any other party. I've been coming here for years and I've noticed they have really expanded their inventory and variety. It's great to see them doing well. It's tucked away in a strange parking lot but they seem to always have shoppers in there. The staff is helpful and they all seem to genuinely enjoy their job. I feel like someones always giving me ideas and showing me things that I should get. Love that in a retail store! They stock up really well for holidays too. I made purchase this week and when I returned to return the merchandise, I did not have my receipt but had the information from my purchase on my phone through credit card but Drew, the manager at the Reno Party America refused to accept my documentation and required the paper receipt, which I could not produce only the digital receipt from my purchase. These were paper table cloths In Unopened packages. I suggested, he give me store credit and the answer was no. Without the receipt number they would be unwilling to return my purchase. In this digital age, this is just lazy and bad service. I'm sure he could have looked it up. I will no longer shop there. This is a locally owned business as a franchise which they proudly display their local business sign in their door. Local usually means a better experience but not the case here. read more

The big,older, miserable lady in black, with black hair and bangs responded rudely NO IT'S NOT!
