Uncle Junkee is the second location of Junkee on opposite halls in Reno Public Market. It's a smaller open space with records, furniture, art, more items that I would decorate my space with than the antiques upstairs in Junkee. Great music selection. There's something for every one. Entering the Reno Public Market, Uncle Junkee (Antiques) is on the Left and the Junkee Clothing Exchange is on the Right. Uncle Junkee also has a sizable LP-related collection and what I'll call science fiction collectables. The store is easy to walk around, the displays are well considered, and although the clerks are watching, the merchandise is all yours to view and consider. I love patronizing Antique stores, as they sometimes offer a local perspective that no local "tourist" shop can offer. Places like this also require a couple visits to peal the onion. These stores also run hot and cold regarding what I look for and like. In my case, that's usually pens, knives, old office supplies, and interesting metal pieces. At least for this visit, nothing really connected. Oh well. read more

Visited the relocated Uncle Junkee at Reno Public market. Glad that both stores are now in the same area. It's a little cramped, but still has the same cool stuff. If you have a backpack purse, you have to check it in the front, which was a buzz kill for me and cut my shopping short. Otherwise, still the same cool store. read more

We have been coming to RPM (Reno Public Market) since they opened and never have taken the time to come in. So glad I did. Atmosphere - Cool business. Junkee Clothing Exchange = Decent size, 5000 square feet. Two floors. Both new and used merchandise. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 7pm. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Self service. I love exploring vintage and collectable shops and this place has a little bit of everything. It's like a bunch of individual antique/collection sellers all housed under one roof. They also have lots of costumes, clothing and hats to choose from. From steampunk, Red Hat Society, Derby, Kangols.... there is a head covering that will catch your eye. Also, the sellers are very friendly and welcoming. Items seem reasonably priced and in good condition. read more

Found Uncle Junkee on our last visit to Reno and we were very happy! Two stores in the new public shopping center. One of antiques and the other all clothing and accessories. Found several interesting kickbacks and tchotchkes in the antique shop. They had comic books and old magazines as well as old signs. Unfortunately I was rushed and didn't get to explore the clothing store but I did a quick walkthrough and was impressed w/the assortment of clothing! It looks like a Burning Man dumping ground. Fishnets of all colors alongside patent leather clothing of all shapes and sizes. I will definitely be back and spend more time shopping for gear for Halloween and party wear my next trip to Reno! read more

One of the highlights of every trip to Reno is a stop at Junkee aka Uncle Junkee now. It is a fun antique, arty store with good prices. The new location is near the Truckee River downtown, not f as r from Cal Neva. I actually like it even better than the old location. The people who work there are super friendly and helpful, making the shopping experience even more special. This year I bought a ceramic pair of horses hugging! How perfect for the area known for the wild horses of the Wild West!! I highly recommend a visit to this one of a kind shop. Take your time and look at everything!! read more

An affiliate to the Reno Public Market location. It's just as eccentric as the other location. This was my first time here and I just think it's to cool. Aside from the cool finds and killer prices, I just love how it's decorated. Antiques, decor, art, knick-knacks, you name it and they probably have sone variation of it. My sister who brought me usually does really well when she comes. I sadly left empty handed but I can't wait to come back and see what new items they have. read more

I wondered around looking at all the vintage items you could buy. The most beautiful colored glass dishes, clothes, retro jewelry and toys. I feel like this store is a higher priced consignment store rather then a thrift store. I want to come back and get a few gifts I think would be great for holidays coming up. I got to sign my name to the wall which was cool being apart of history. I played the plunko type game there. The staff that helped me out was very kind and professional. He said play stupid games win stupid prizes lol I won a shot of pickle juice and a vampire mouth bottle opener. I recommend coming here to grab some collector items or a cool hat for that party you have to go to. They even have vintage playboy magazines for those true collectors! ;) read more

Visited a long favored perusing and shopping establishment, the only stop i desire to make , when visiting daughter here, traveling from the bay area . Heading for Junkee. I find it has moved AND bifarcated. Subsequently, to appreciate the Left and the Right sides of the Original Junkee one must visit 2 new locations. I was prepared for that. It was locating the suggested or any parking that was frustrating. When finally inside the downtown store, it was gratifying to see the inventory was much the same. Hopefully with this size space, there is room for lots more stuff to peruse, and it will come. That's my only negative reaction post the parking experience which now understood won't reoccur-this space feels cavernous, hope it gets filled to approach that intimacy and chaotic coziness of the old digs. I dig this place! When I'm bored sometimes after work I go here and just wander around looking at all the stuff up and down the aisles. It helps that there's really no other store like it around and hardly anyone is open past 5pm in this damn City! It's a total crapshoot, never know what there will be, although there's a few vendors that sort of stay the same. The area in the back with all the retro movies, toys, magazines, and stuff really adds to this place. Sometimes overpriced, but there's some good hidden gems too... read more

I purchased an expensive ring last week. After wearing it two days, the stone fell out and disappeared. I realize all sales are final, so I called Uncle Junkee to explain the situation, and also went to Junkee Clothing to speak with the owner, but she was not available. Considering the cost of the purchase and the quality of how the stone was set, I feel a store credit or some type of exception should have been made. Replacing the stone will an additional three or four times the cost of the ring. read more
