Ok. I finally visited the new place in the Reno public market. Bizarre ? No- this place is great for the thrift shop kings and queens out there . I will say it's a treasure . You can find anything for Rock bottom prices. It's eclectic - it's wonderful to walk though and see the things you may want and need - at a very reasonable price. Easy parking, very nice staff- the men's section is small - but who shops ? Women - not men. I did get a pair of cammo pants to work out in the yard - the pants dit great lots of pockets and is durable. - fro 12.99$ a win for me . This is the Best store every! We just Love this store. It's a cross of a party store, costume store, thrift store, antique store and Burner store. Treasures galore! My mom and I used the Zoltar machine while we were in there. It's her birthday and it was something fun to do. We only had a $5. Didn't realize it doesn't give change so I asked an employee about it. A blonde woman, working in the donation section of the store behind the register, helped us. She got us our change, which I was grateful for. However she made a snarky comment. "Where would you get your change on the machine?" Proving a point, sure. Rubbed me the wrong way but she helped us out. I love Junkee and I love their new location! My husband and I come to Reno yearly for business and Junkee has become our must-do whenever we're here. This most recent visit was an urgent need because we're from Hawaii and we were visiting in April when the weather is well below 70degrees. I was not going to buy winter clothes in Hawaii, nor was I going to buy it new when I knew there's a reliable thrift shop right in Reno. This new location is perfect, must more organized than the last which made shopping that much easier! The selection is great, the clothes are clean, and the workers are so helpful. My husband and I were able to find a fur jacket, thick cardigan, and a couple more layers for the cold weather for about $12 - $15 each! I would say, that's a great deal for winter clothes, especially considering we needed items we could wear in Hawaii too so our goal wasn't just cold weather but also light enough to wear in Hawaii when it hits 60degrees in December. Junkee is a money saver and a lifesaver. Of course, we'll be back next year with the goal of finding clothes for the snow! read more

Large selection of women's clothing costume jewelry and costumes. New and worn reasonable prices and not so much. Small men's selection especially shoes. But worth the visit . My husband had cleaned his closet and brought in lots of great clothing items to sell. They were very friendly and got the buyer right on it. Within 20 minutes, we had $70 cash. You don't get a lot of money for your items and they are selective, but it was a good experience and worth the effort. read more

My daughter and I checked out the new location at Reno Public Market and, while we miss the mid-town location and vibe, we are big Junkee fans and are glad they found another space. The new location feels smaller but the decor and availability of quirky, cool clothing reminds you this is still Junkee. We ventured upstairs where the antiques section is located and it feels a bit more organized - different vendors have their own little spaces. I liked the fun band poster section and the "western" sections. And the different, mismatched flooring makes it feel like they are trying to maintain the aesthetic of the former location. read more

The new location is central to so many things in town. Bars, food, cars, church, groceries. Smack dab in the middle of it all. It's also inside a mall in its own right. Upon walking in, you're hit with a sensory feast. There is so much to look at from the wildly varied clothing to the insane works of art on the wall, to the moving sculptures and nicknacs. You might not find what you're looking for but you'll find something you weren't. There's tons of mini deals, and you'll always find something that tickles your brain until you'll buy it. Sometimes, it's just that hard to walk away. As for the service, it's a mixed bag. A lot of the younger staff will dress up or come fully kit to help customers and be cheerful and apart of the experience. Some of the other staff seem to eye you wearily as if you're just going to grab a shelf full of items and run off. One of the older members kept following close behind me as I browsed, making me feel a bit perturbed to be looking at anything. Overall, it's a very Reno experience, and I'd recommend anyone just wanting to find that special piece -shirt-shoes-table cloth-old fashion rotary phone- for that special occasion or another item to display in their collection. read more

This review is specifically for the Antique department upstairs; It's extremely off putting to be followed around the store and constantly harassed by the staff that there's X amount of minutes left. I heard you the first time, i'm aware of the time, you don't need to follow me around the store, and tell me quite literally 8 times that you close in less than 10 minutes. I understand you want people to know you close soon, but it was so unnecessary and really was a turn off from the store. One of the old men even made a comment to my boyfriend that "there's definitely no porn down at the end!", trying to be funny. First time in the store and definitely won't be going back. read more

My daughter is into thrifting so we decided to visit this place while we were on vacation in Reno. It's conveniently located in the Reno Public Market that had a great Food Hall so we grabbed lunch and then went shopping. This place is HUGE! The entire down stairs is literally filled wall to wall and floor to ceiling with eye candy. There are so many things to look at! All sorts of clothes, shoes, accessories, costumes, etc. Upstairs is a big antique consignment store. Each space is unique and sells something different. They played a variety of music from retro to raggae to oldies. It was a lot of fun to shop. I walked out with a bagful of stuff. Oh and they give you a junkee bag! Service was great! Cheap, fake vintage crap. Owner has been known to post unkind things online. The things they sell are shitty. This "thrift" adjacent store wouldn't last a day in LA or San Francisco. So much of it isn't vintage or even used, a lot is tchotchkes from the dollar tree. The burning man/halloween costumes are tacky and have no soul. Such a bummer. read more

First time walking into this thrift store I was overwhelmed with artistic inspiration! The walls are decorated in a crazy colorful array of different items big and small. There are many different clothing styles and costumes to look through. Wigs and accessories galore! I came in looking for a Halloween costume for myself and left with a few extra items as well. Yo stairs I found some rare 1959's baby shower napkins I bought for a friend. They have a nice collection of antiques on the second floor as well as photo opportunities everywhere! Great value for the items purchased I believe anyways. Everyone working there was very helpful, informative and kind. I highly recommend checking this place out. I used to go to this store in the old location and it was bigger and better with mostly individual shops all in one. This new location has less of the individual shops and more clothing and accessories. Big room downstairs to browse and it even has a men's shop. I took a look in that area and found new men's western shirts but I did not buy one as they were pricey (almost $50). The hats were above what I wanted to pay for when I am not even sure they would fit. I did find a blouse that I just had to have and bought it even though it was above prices at other thrift shops. I also found a necklace set on cardboard that looked artisan but on the back it showed it was made in China. It was cheap enough so that was fine. I was carrying the necklace with me when I went upstairs and I brought it back down to pay for it. I was a bit worried that they might think I found it upstairs but when I went to pay they asked me where I got it. Next time I will leave it with the cashier instead. The shops upstairs are a little tight and you can only walk in one direction and then walk toward the foot traffic coming in. I did not find anything their with the price I was willing to pay but maybe next time. Careful on the stairs as they are a little steep. Everyone was nice and the cashier even let me take her photo as she was dressed like an elf. I will come browse again and definitely if I need a costume or other unique item. Junkee has moved and it is for the better!!!! I've always been a fan of this funky store. Whether I'm looking for comfortable summer dresses, something saucy for a hot date, a Halloween costume no one else has or Playa wear for Burning Man- this is the place. Now that they've moved there is so much space to spread out and riffle through the racks to find the perfect piece. They have just as much variety as they use to have before but it just seems so much fresher, cleaner, and organized. There are antiques upstairs and some of them are typically hard to find Statement Pieces. The couch I posted in the photos- go check it out. It's made of down and so so plush. My son had a blast running zoomies around the store with a miniature Grocery Cart and played at their little play stations. The staff were just as helpful as always and the music was fun and groovy. As far as value goes, I have found some very basic things to be overpriced but those gems that I find so often at Junkee are usually worth every penny they ask for. read more
