This place is still so fun, but I feel like yhe prices have gone up a little. What i love about this okace is they still have their sense of design and uniqueness. From the decor to the items they sell. Its spacious and multi level. They have clothing and accessories on the ground floor and home goods and antiques on the top floor. The vibrant charm.is really what makes it so amazing and unique. IT has charm and they dont stop in the main area. Even the dressing rooms have their own theme. I could spend hours in this store. Access the entrance through Reno Public Market. It's your ultimate themed, Halloween dress up, go-go dancing wear, costume kind of store that sells and buys item. You could find every era from shoes, clothes, jewelry, art both new and pre-owned. Every room and section were neatly organized to represent the era and clearly marked with prices. This place is insane. You could spend an entire day here going through all the clothing and especially all the 'stuff' upstairs. Junkee Clothes Exchange is one of those places where you can spend hours and still feel like you've only scratched the surface. It's like playing dress-up for grown-ups, truly a vintage clothing lover's dream with costumes, retro dresses, funky hats, jewelry, and more. I recently discovered their upstairs area and it's packed with antiques, so every corner feels like a treasure chest waiting to be opened. On my last visit I scored a couple of vintage hats and the perfect necklace to go with my pink 1950's swing dress (seriously, it was meant to be). The employees are all super friendly and genuinely helpful, which makes shopping here even more fun. I also love their new location inside The Reno Public Market; it makes the whole experience a day out. Ok. I finally visited the new place in the Reno public market. Bizarre ? No- this place is great for the thrift shop kings and queens out there . I will say it's a treasure . You can find anything for Rock bottom prices. It's eclectic - it's wonderful to walk though and see the things you may want and need - at a very reasonable price. Easy parking, very nice staff- the men's section is small - but who shops ? Women - not men. I did get a pair of cammo pants to work out in the yard - the pants dit great lots of pockets and is durable. - fro 12.99$ a win for me . I love Junkee and I love their new location! My husband and I come to Reno yearly for business and Junkee has become our must-do whenever we're here. This most recent visit was an urgent need because we're from Hawaii and we were visiting in April when the weather is well below 70degrees. I was not going to buy winter clothes in Hawaii, nor was I going to buy it new when I knew there's a reliable thrift shop right in Reno. This new location is perfect, must more organized than the last which made shopping that much easier! The selection is great, the clothes are clean, and the workers are so helpful. My husband and I were able to find a fur jacket, thick cardigan, and a couple more layers for the cold weather for about $12 - $15 each! I would say, that's a great deal for winter clothes, especially considering we needed items we could wear in Hawaii too so our goal wasn't just cold weather but also light enough to wear in Hawaii when it hits 60degrees in December. Junkee is a money saver and a lifesaver. Of course, we'll be back next year with the goal of finding clothes for the snow! read more

I love Junkee and I have been an active shopper since it opened! My most favorite event was the Thanksgiving Junkee bus mystery shopping tour. The best fun you could ever have on a Black Friday!! I know Jessica gave up her family holidays to take her dedicated customers on a locals shopping journey to be remember and help out local businesses instead of people shopping at big box stores!!! Anyway, I went to the new Junkee location at the Reno Public Market, if you haven't been yet, you're missing out. I want to take a moment to thank the staff for helping me with my pirate costume- yes, for Nigel's Party! I think 6 people were there the day I came in looking for a shirt to match a skirt I bought in Sacramento! My daughter and I checked out the new location at Reno Public Market and, while we miss the mid-town location and vibe, we are big Junkee fans and are glad they found another space. The new location feels smaller but the decor and availability of quirky, cool clothing reminds you this is still Junkee. We ventured upstairs where the antiques section is located and it feels a bit more organized - different vendors have their own little spaces. I liked the fun band poster section and the "western" sections. And the different, mismatched flooring makes it feel like they are trying to maintain the aesthetic of the former location. read more

The new location is central to so many things in town. Bars, food, cars, church, groceries. Smack dab in the middle of it all. It's also inside a mall in its own right. Upon walking in, you're hit with a sensory feast. There is so much to look at from the wildly varied clothing to the insane works of art on the wall, to the moving sculptures and nicknacs. You might not find what you're looking for but you'll find something you weren't. There's tons of mini deals, and you'll always find something that tickles your brain until you'll buy it. Sometimes, it's just that hard to walk away. As for the service, it's a mixed bag. A lot of the younger staff will dress up or come fully kit to help customers and be cheerful and apart of the experience. Some of the other staff seem to eye you wearily as if you're just going to grab a shelf full of items and run off. One of the older members kept following close behind me as I browsed, making me feel a bit perturbed to be looking at anything. This review is specifically for the Antique department upstairs; It's extremely off putting to be followed around the store and constantly harassed by the staff that there's X amount of minutes left. I heard you the first time, i'm aware of the time, you don't need to follow me around the store, and tell me quite literally 8 times that you close in less than 10 minutes. I understand you want people to know you close soon, but it was so unnecessary and really was a turn off from the store. One of the old men even made a comment to my boyfriend that "there's definitely no porn down at the end!", trying to be funny. First time in the store and definitely won't be going back. read more

First time walking into this thrift store I was overwhelmed with artistic inspiration! The walls are decorated in a crazy colorful array of different items big and small. There are many different clothing styles and costumes to look through. Wigs and accessories galore! I came in looking for a Halloween costume for myself and left with a few extra items as well. Yo stairs I found some rare 1959's baby shower napkins I bought for a friend. They have a nice collection of antiques on the second floor as well as photo opportunities everywhere! Great value for the items purchased I believe anyways. Everyone working there was very helpful, informative and kind. I highly recommend checking this place out. My mom and I used the Zoltar machine while we were in there. It's her birthday and it was something fun to do. We only had a $5. Didn't realize it doesn't give change so I asked an employee about it. A blonde woman, working in the donation section of the store behind the register, helped us. She got us our change, which I was grateful for. However she made a snarky comment. In all fairness this first review is notable for the clothing/costume portion of this estalishment. I was so enthralled with the vintage, revisited and new apparel section of Junkee, I ran out of time and-had to make my daughter, whom I was visiting, promise to bring me back prior to my departure next week, to visit the antiques, collectibles and art. If she can pry me away from collecting a few more items from the plethora of offerings from clothing. This is definitely becoming a destination shop-stop when visiting Reno is on the docket.
