I unfortunately didn't have time to look around the entire store, but I purchased an incredibly beautiful typewriter in great working condition and the owner and/or salesperson was very patient with showing me how to use it. It was priced well and I'm so thrilled to have found it, I was having a hard time finding a typewriter that actually worked. I've been antiquing and thrifting for decades, and I can honestly say I've never experienced quite this level of "maximum-security antique shopping." From nearly the moment my children and I entered, an employee followed us from room to room with all the subtlety of a prison guard conducting rounds. Not occasionally checking in. Not discreetly keeping an eye on things. Following us. Room. To. Room. Complete with the unblinking, judgmental stare that made browsing feel less like shopping and more like supervised visitation. I'm not naive. I understand perfectly well why antique stores keep an eye on customers, particularly families with children. Some children are careless. Some parents apparently believe "don't touch" is an infringement on personal liberty. I get it. I've been doing this for decades, and I've specifically taught my children how to behave in antique and thrift stores: be careful, be respectful, and understand that the things around you belong to other people. Which is also why I'd appreciate being allowed to actually parent my own children before a store employee decides to assume the role. At one point, my child--who is under 10--picked up an item to inspect it because he was considering buying it. The employee, who of course was already hovering nearby, gruffly told him that he needed to put it back unless he wanted to buy it. Interesting retail strategy. Perhaps I've misunderstood antiquing all these years, but generally one examines an item BEFORE deciding whether to purchase it. If the store's policy is that customers may look but not touch, pick up, inspect, or otherwise evaluate merchandise, that is certainly their prerogative. Put up a sign saying so. But don't be surprised when customers respond by doing exactly what you apparently want them to do: look--and then leave without buying anything. What bothered me most wasn't even being watched. I'm sure plenty of antique stores quietly keep an eye on customers, and I don't blame them. The difference is that every other antique store I've visited has managed to accomplish this without making customers feel like inmates being escorted through the recreational yard. There is a considerable difference between discreetly monitoring your merchandise and overtly following a family from room to room while communicating suspicion through your expression, posture, and gruff tone. Maybe give people the benefit of the doubt first. If my children start mishandling merchandise, by all means say something. I would probably be saying it before you had the chance. But treating children as a problem before they've actually done anything wrong--and treating their parent as though he cannot possibly supervise them without assistance--is neither welcoming nor particularly conducive to making a sale. And that's the unfortunate part. I've purchased several items here before and would have happily continued doing so. There are individual vendors in this store whose booths I genuinely enjoy browsing, and they are ultimately the ones who lose future sales because I have no desire to shop while being shadowed by a self-appointed warden. Antique stores depend on people being willing to browse, inspect, discover, and occasionally fall in love with something they didn't know they wanted when they walked through the door. That experience becomes considerably less enjoyable when someone is staring over your shoulder waiting for an infraction. So, to the vendors whose booths I've enjoyed and purchased from before: I'm sorry. You have some wonderful things. To the management: if you're going to put someone in a public-facing position, perhaps consider whether they make paying customers feel welcome--or like they should be counting down the days until parole. read more

I don't shop here anymore. I've witnessed the owner talking poorly about his customers twice now. He gave another customer a nasty look when they said they were excited to wear a pair of gloves they were buying. Gross behavior. read more

Awesome antique place with lots of options and vendors so you have a huge variety so don't worry your husband will have some things to explore too. That way he won't be rushing you out, because this isn't a small place and there is a lot to discover. Prices were pretty good and they were various sales and the staff said that they have new stuff every day so it's always changing. This will be a new bus stop whenever we're in the area. read more

Immediately saw some furry looking boots- and had to try them on.. Unfortunately,they weren't my size, but they were fun to try.. and they shed! Son, could not resist a Christian Dior trench coat!.. This is a BEAUTIFUL antique store in the midtown of Reno. There are about 27 independent antiques collectors who share their unique historical pieces for sale. The store itself is very well organized with plenty of areas to roam around. It is a pleasant experience to be there. The items are very well priced, which promotes a thrifting vibe to enjoy shopping. We received great attentiveness from the owner and people who worked there that day, so we give 5/ 5 for the service. We highly recommend this antique store. Surprised that this place doesn't have more reviews! I was originally in the area for Bad Apple Vintage and saw this place across the street! They have a HUGE selection to choose from ranging from every Knick knack you can think of to purses and other accessories! Just when you think you've seen all the store a new corner will expand into a whole new section! The price range was super affordable and they had so many cute things to choose from. I specifically went looking for matchboxes and they had a great variety! Some of their stuff is spread out, don't think all of one item will be in one area. I found a bunch of match boxes in all different parts of the store so definitely keep an eye out and look everywhere! All the staff was super nice and they offered to hold my items at the front so I could be hands free browsing. Overall a great location, can't believe I haven't been here sooner! Parking is mostly street parking you can find in midtown, went on a Sunday afternoon and had no problems with that. read more

Reno has several options for antiques, but this is the newest. They have done a great job of rehabbing an old building with a past. The place is open, bright and clean. There are several large rooms, but they flow into each other easily. There's plenty of space to walk through. "Booths" are very neat, and not packed with items. It was easy to browse. Vendors have almost anything you can think of- vintage clothing and hats, magazines, small furniture, jewelry, and other great items. Everything seemed clean, no film of dust. I was greeted by staff as I entered and thanked for coming when I left. Nice. Limited parking out front on Virginia Street. I would try Holcomb on the back side, often less traffic. read more

I only had a little time to browse this new antique store in town, but I was glad I came in. Clean, well-lit, nicely organized and curated. One of the best antiquing experience. Prices seemed to be very reasonable, and there are no junky feel at all. Lots of great paintings, many by local artists. I did find several items I was interested. I definitely want to go back with my antique-loving girlfriends. Also, a big plus for not making me feel like I'm being "watched."
