We contracted Avorino to put an ADU in the backyard of one of our property. Our experience has been…read morenot short of Good, Bad and Ugly. First the Good: Owner Raja was warm and friendly. Coordinator Jay was a gem. She worked to keep everything going on time. The team worked efficiently to get the work done. Now the Bad: I did not know I had to buy everything from windows to doors to sinks to vanities. That is at least 10% of the contract value. Finally the Ugly: I did not know I have to find separate contractors for awnings, solar panels and the driveway. I think that is too much for a person who is not working in the construction business to negotiate all those subcontracts.

I'm a woman with zero experience when it comes to home remodels. So when my 72-year-old mom needed…read moreher guest bathroom remodeled in her Mission Viejo home, I did a ton of research and interviewed several licensed contractors that were recommended by friends and neighbors. Right off the bat, my mom and I felt the most comfortable with Amin (pronounced "Ah-mean") of Persi Homes. From the thorough, no-pressure in-home consult to the detailed estimate and contract he sent afterwards, Amin's expertise, warm personality, and responsiveness to our questions gave us the reassurance we needed to take the plunge and get started with our first remodel. My mom's house is around 30 years old. The tub/shower combo was original and started peeling in spots. The towel bar, vanity light, and other items were also original and needed to be replaced. My mom ended up doing a "full gut" and had Persi Homes replace everything, including the toilet, vanity and countertop, sink and faucet, vent fan, floor, etc. Amin answered all our questions and provided helpful suggestions during every phase of the project. As the Project Manager, he showed up several times a week to check the progress of the work, and he remained extremely friendly and responsive from start to finish. We always knew who was coming to the house on what day and what the next phase of the project was. From the demo guys to the tile guys and everyone in between, all the Persi Homes employees and subcontractors were polite, showed up on time, and worked extremely hard. They even cleaned up after themselves every day. Each City Inspection passed with flying colors, and Amin made sure my mom and I were 100% happy with every aspect of her bath remodel. Before this project, I was hesitant to undergo any remodels, especially after hearing horror stories of sketchy contractors from coworkers and friends over the years. But the Persi Homes crew was extremely professional, reliable, and easy to talk to. My mom is now the proud owner of a beautifully remodeled guest bathroom where the superior craftsmanship speaks for itself. From the new acrylic soaking tub and porcelain tiled shower combo, to her stunning quartz top vanity with soft-close drawers and perfectly cut tile flooring, her guest bathroom is not only more functional with more storage, but luxurious. It looks like something you'd see in a magazine. This smaller guest bathroom remodel was a "test project" to take Persi Homes for a test drive before my mom gets other remodel projects done. As a single gal who's just trying to help out her mom, Persi Homes was incredible to work with! We're so lucky to have found this company. My mom and I will definitely be using them again.

From our first meeting with their representative Amin, and then every step of the way, they answered our questions, they addressed our concerns, and they gave us more of the home we want. From the demo, including the removal of my AC unit, to the footings, the framing, the electrical, and then all leading up to the finished product and the final inspection, PH was there every step of the way. They were professional, on time, and took care of our property. We are so happy with our new covered patio and we will definitely be using Perci Homes for any future home construction needs.

We couldn't be happier with our experience hiring Dani and his team for our 3-bathroom renovation…read more (Their bid was in the middle among 3 other bids.) They completely transformed three full bathrooms for us, and the final results are absolutely amazing. The level of craftsmanship and attention to detail in the finished product exceeded our expectations (one of the best tile teams!), and walking into our newly renovated spaces brings us so much joy every day. While a beautiful finished product is important, the most critical part of hiring a general contractor is finding someone you can truly trust. Throughout the entire project, Dani & Sabina proved to be a reliable and deeply professional partner. Remodeling projects inherently come with unexpected hurdles, but it is how a contractor handles those challenges that truly sets them apart. Whenever a problem arose, Dani and his team never once balked at finding a resolution. Every single issue was addressed in a timely, straightforward manner, and they took complete ownership of ensuring everything was done right. We felt fully supported and taken care of from start to finish (Ricardo was a star for us!), and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor who delivers both high-quality work and true peace of mind. We are proud of the work they have done and here are our photos of Before and After! (There were others on the team we want to thank too...like Matias and Jorge!)

TLDR: Proceed with extreme caution. Offered us free work for positive reviews. The lack of…read moreoversight, accountability, and professionalism turned what should have been a straightforward renovation into a drawn-out, stressful ordeal. We recently completed an extensive renovation with D2A, including whole-home interior paint, full kitchen remodel, whole-home flooring, fireplace renovation, and upgraded electrical panel. We were promised an October 2025 completion, but the work did not finish until the end of April 2026. What could have been an exciting home project became prolonged, exhausting, and unnecessarily difficult. Dani/D2A operates far more as a sales-focused or front-facing contact than a contractor capable of actively managing a complex remodel. Once the contract was signed, the level of involvement and management dropped significantly. There was no meaningful oversight, no proactive quality control, and no walkthrough or presentation of completed areas or phases of work. We were left to give specific direction to workers directly and had to inspect everything ourselves at every stage, repeatedly reporting problems that should have been caught internally. The volume and severity of issues were unacceptable. Our stairs were initially installed with finishing nails sticking up and severely uneven steps that required a full redo; even after the redo, we were left with creaking steps that we accepted. Cabinet paint and installation required extensive correction, causing months of delays where we had no handles on our cabinets. The backsplash was installed incorrectly and had to be completely redone. Flooring was installed below standard over uneven foundation, with no mention of an option, added cost or not, to properly address it until after all work was completed. Correcting it then would have extended the construction-site state of our home for additional weeks, so we chose to cut our losses rather than endure another round of disruption. These were not minor punch-list items. They were obvious, avoidable mistakes reflecting a lack of basic craftsmanship, attention to detail, communication processes, and oversight. Instead of addressing these issues professionally, Dani was frequently defensive and dismissive, minimizing legitimate concerns rather than taking ownership. While all issues caused by his team's work except the uneven flooring were eventually corrected at no added monetary cost, this came only after weeks of debate and deflection. The eventual solution was asking us to take time off work to be present for all work done for weeks, despite our clear, detailed documentation of what needed to be done. Often, after we spent hours preparing a documented plan and providing it to D2A, workers would arrive and tell us they had never received the information, then look to us for direction. Our oversight got the job done, but it required costly time off from work and reduced the value of paying for a general contractor's expertise. As a married couple, we also experienced a clear and troubling difference in communication: when wife asked questions, responses were often belittling or disrespectful, while the same questions from husband were met with a noticeably more professional tone. The project extended roughly six additional months, and the repeated delays and rework resulted in real, out-of-pocket costs for our family. We had to stay in Airbnbs with our young child because the home was not safe to occupy during some stages of the extra construction. This disruption was avoidable and resulted from poor management and repeated mistakes. Perhaps most concerning, during the final sign-off, when the cost to correct the uneven foundation under the flooring was discussed, Dani offered to cover that work in exchange for both husband and wife leaving a positive review. Since online reviews played a role in our decision to hire D2A, this raises serious concerns about the integrity of their reputation. Proceed with extreme caution.
