Those were all the people that he was loudly discussing while I was in there. Here was my experience 1. 7:39 my son called and asked would we be able to have the car diagnosed today (check engine light). He said he spoke to Jon who said yes. 2. I arrived at 10:37 to leave my car and I asked the woman at the counter would it be ready by 2:30. She very confidently said yes they could complete the diagnostic but probably not the repair. 3. At 3:08 I called because I had not heard anything and was told he was looking at it now and would call soon. 4. At 4:07 I could no longer wait so I went in. I was told he was "working on it" and asked if I needed the car today. I said yes I need it now. After a few minutes I realized no one was moving so I asked what was happening. Jon said he's working on it. I said I can bring it back but I have to go. He jumped up and said he would bring the car out of the garage. This is where it gets interesting! He brings my car out and they say I have to pay their diagnostic fee. I said not without the diagnostics! Seems reasonable right? So I ask what's the issue with my car. They don't know yet. Jon then says I hate people that don't want to pay. I say I'm more than willing to pay if I know the issue. He then hands me my keys and tells me to never come back. Well that won't be a problem. If you're able to avoid Jon this might be a good spot. I will never know and recommend avoiding them!

In my Family's three cars over the years, they have diagnosed and repaired a myriad of problems and been very honest about what repairs are truly essential for safety and reliability and what repairs can be delayed. We have a 2016 Ford F150, an old 2005 Volkswagen Passat manual, and a 2009 Toyota Sienna. They keep us running great. They are often pretty backed up and so it takes a couple of weeks to get service but a couple of times when we had emergencies they took care of us right away. I try never to ask for rushed service but once or twice that I have needed it they have come through for me and him working extra hours to keep me on the road. I can't recommend sherwood auto enough.

After a thorough assessment, they were honest with me that half the work quoted wasn't actually necessary, and did the required work for half the price while showing me what exactly was problematic and was not. The shop is old school (appointments have to be made via phone) and unassuming, but Tim has 40yrs of experience and his team does quality work. Also walking distance to Towson Town Center, so super convenient to get some errands in whilst work is being done. Highly recommend this garage; it's so hard to find mechanics who are not gimmicky with tempting deals or overpriced, but thorough, fair, and reliable. Customer for life!

I booked an appointment for service to my snowblower. When the tech came, he started working on it…read moreand then told me I needed a new choke switch. Never once said anything about anything else. Got a message saying I needed the choke switch and a new carb. The service PM I was getting was a full service. Oil change, spark plug, carb cleaning, belt inspection, etc. The choke switch was replaced and new carb installed. Tech told me via text that he was done and machine was running good. Upon coming home from work, I started looking over machine. Oil was black, spark plug was rusty (so never changed) and the bolts to the cover were dusty so no inspection was completed. When I sent pics, I was told that he didn't change the spark plug bc the machine ran good. They offered to come back but at this point all trust was lost. I paid for the parts but that was it. Yes, the machine starts good but after using it during this snow, the carb is leaking fuel and it does not throttle up at all so were there any adjustments made. I have to stay in #1 and go very slow. To top it all off, I went back and saved all my ring footage and watched what the tech did. Let's just say that the footage don't match what they told me was done. The owner told me that I didnt need to pay but I wanted to pay for the parts as I'm not that type of person. The reason for the review is because how many others do they do this to. If you pay for service, you should get the service you paid for and not what they think. Now I need to take it somewhere else to get it fixed correctly.

I'm a new driver and my mom bought me a new car for my 18th birthday. It wasn't soon after that that i wrecked it. My mom called Pars Auto and they were soooo nice. They gave the tow truck directions and began work on the car even though we got there right before closing! We got a diagnosis on the car immediately. The car wasn't in the shop for weeks. The price wasn't jacked up in the end like most mechanic shops. I was very happy with my experience here =) read more

This is the best experience i have ever had in a mechanic shop. No appointment necessary! I can just walk in an they treat me like a valued customer. The prices are cheaper than anywhere else! They don't make me pay for what THEY want to do to my car. Everything is my decision and i am included in all the details from the start. The service is quick, i don't have to wait for days to pick up my car. This will be the best experience you've ever had! read more

I've taken my girlfriend's car here a few times. They are ALWAYS so welcoming and helpful. They are not like other companies that haggle with the price or try to have me pay to fix as much as possible. Everything they have ever done is still lasting and I've had no problems with it ever again. They really go out of their way for their customers. I advise everyone to bring their car here. I called the same day for an Oil Change & they were very accommodating. Told me it would take an hour for the service & it was done exactly that time. Service was excellent & the quality was unsurpassed! Pars was the only place that could repair my Audi previously to my oil change. Very honest & friendly people! read more

I went to Reliable for 6 years - and was always happy until my past couple of visits. They kept my…read morecar for FOUR HOURS for an oil change and did not tell me that a tech had been injured, causing the delay. when I called at hour 2. If you would've told me that someone was hurt, I would've taken it back the next day. But that option was not provided and then I was made to feel bad about it when I complained that the appointment took so long. They also misdiagnosed a problem with vibration in my vehicle. I ended up replacing the front struts, which probably would've needed it down the road, but it was not urgent or the cause of my problem. They also quoted over $500 more than any local shops for the struts. They were even more expensive than mitis! And they wanted a down payment as a deposit for the work. I've never seen this before. Not just here but anywhere! The kicker is that it was not the struts at all, instead there was a driveshaft problem that they should've seen because I asked them to look at the alignment, steering, and rear differential. They also missed the fact that a rear strut was leaking during that same check (which should've been obvious if they were actually checking the rear differential fluid). When I called to ask why the service was so inconsistent with the actual issue, and to see if they would issue me a refund based on the extra work I had done because of them, I was hung up on. I'm not sure what's going on with the manager but she used to be a very nice person. Not lately. Don't get me wrong, are used to rave about this place. I even took down a five star review in which I joked that I hope they did not get too popular because I liked getting good appointment times. I wish this place was good. They were good for a long time. Not anymore. Watch yourself. Who asks for a deposit especially from a long term customer - over six years I've been going there and always trusted their suggestions and prices. Maybe COVID has affected the way they do business.
