Those were all the people that he was loudly discussing while I was in there. Here was my experience 1. 7:39 my son called and asked would we be able to have the car diagnosed today (check engine light). He said he spoke to Jon who said yes. 2. I arrived at 10:37 to leave my car and I asked the woman at the counter would it be ready by 2:30. She very confidently said yes they could complete the diagnostic but probably not the repair. 3. At 3:08 I called because I had not heard anything and was told he was looking at it now and would call soon. 4. At 4:07 I could no longer wait so I went in. I was told he was "working on it" and asked if I needed the car today. I said yes I need it now. After a few minutes I realized no one was moving so I asked what was happening. Jon said he's working on it. I said I can bring it back but I have to go. He jumped up and said he would bring the car out of the garage. This is where it gets interesting! He brings my car out and they say I have to pay their diagnostic fee. I said not without the diagnostics! Seems reasonable right? So I ask what's the issue with my car. They don't know yet. Jon then says I hate people that don't want to pay. I say I'm more than willing to pay if I know the issue. He then hands me my keys and tells me to never come back. Well that won't be a problem. If you're able to avoid Jon this might be a good spot. I will never know and recommend avoiding them!

I have been going to these guys for years and they are in a word: awesome. Incredibly fair, honest,…read moreand talented. In my Family's three cars over the years, they have diagnosed and repaired a myriad of problems and been very honest about what repairs are truly essential for safety and reliability and what repairs can be delayed. We have a 2016 Ford F150, an old 2005 Volkswagen Passat manual, and a 2009 Toyota Sienna. They keep us running great. They are often pretty backed up and so it takes a couple of weeks to get service but a couple of times when we had emergencies they took care of us right away. I try never to ask for rushed service but once or twice that I have needed it they have come through for me and him working extra hours to keep me on the road. I can't recommend sherwood auto enough.

After a thorough assessment, they were honest with me that half the work quoted wasn't actually necessary, and did the required work for half the price while showing me what exactly was problematic and was not. The shop is old school (appointments have to be made via phone) and unassuming, but Tim has 40yrs of experience and his team does quality work. Also walking distance to Towson Town Center, so super convenient to get some errands in whilst work is being done. Highly recommend this garage; it's so hard to find mechanics who are not gimmicky with tempting deals or overpriced, but thorough, fair, and reliable. Customer for life!
