Jim Elliott's Towing Service - Damaged caused by towing company

Jim Elliott's Towing Service

Some of the best in the business. Customer perspective AND automotive service industry perspective…read more Customer Perspective: I have had both our Audi and BMW towed by Jim Elliott's for either flat tire issues or engine concerns. All drivers have been super courteous and respectful. If you're in a pinch for time and in the local Towson area, they're great! The most recent experience didn't have my vehicle going far which was cost effective. Their pickup was $100 then $5/mile. $105 later, it was there, safe, and sound! They usually arrive within the hour you call, depending on their work load, and where they are dispatched from. All individuals on the phone have been pleasant as well. They're usually really quick and to the point. That's normal of the industry though. Auto Service Industry Perspective: As a service advisor, we would receive vehicle in off tow trucks almost daily. Out of all the tow truck companies in the greater Baltimore and local Baltimore area, they were always the most pleasant to work with. We also noticed how well they handled all vehicles on their trucks. They treated the vehicle's like it was their own personal. If you need a tow that not 100% emergency, I would call Jim Elliott's. If you're in an emergency, 911, AAA, or your roadside assistance might be a little quicker. Besides that, they're phenomenal to work with. I'm hesitant to think of a day that I'll have poor service with them because I don't think it will happen.

I had my mini van towed to a shop on September 29th from 83 to cockeysville shop. Upon unloading…read moremy vehicle which was not on the flat bed straight but crooked to one side and rubbed against my front wheel and took off a chunk from the rim. And when I asked the driver about this, he's reply was, every truck has a video camera and my boss would look at it and then give me a call. Never happened until I called and he told me to send him pictures, and I told him the driver took pictures too. So he gave me his cell number and I sent the picture and not a response but another picture of the whole wheel is preferred. I did and he, Phil didn't have the courtesy to call but texted and said that, can you talk to the driver and said it was no problem. Getting on to the tow truck and therefore there's nothing that we can do. I absolutely would not ever use or recommend this company in the future and I have contacted BBB, States Attorney and my Attorney to look into this matter by so called a reputable towing company. NOT!! I feel like I'm being taken for $245.00. And the OEM wheel cost more than a towing fee... so do the math!!

My daughters car broke down on the way home from work. After searching for local auto shops and…read morereading plenty of reviews, I decided to have the car towed to Leo's Auto. I'm glad I did! Not only did they explain thoroughly the issue the car was having, they kept me updated and was able to provide quick repair. We now have a local auto shop while she's in the area for college and I'm so grateful. Thanks Leo's Auto for the friendly customer service and getting her back on the road!

Those were all the people that he was loudly discussing while I was in there. Here was my experience 1. 7:39 my son called and asked would we be able to have the car diagnosed today (check engine light). He said he spoke to Jon who said yes. 2. I arrived at 10:37 to leave my car and I asked the woman at the counter would it be ready by 2:30. She very confidently said yes they could complete the diagnostic but probably not the repair. 3. At 3:08 I called because I had not heard anything and was told he was looking at it now and would call soon. 4. At 4:07 I could no longer wait so I went in. I was told he was "working on it" and asked if I needed the car today. I said yes I need it now. After a few minutes I realized no one was moving so I asked what was happening. Jon said he's working on it. I said I can bring it back but I have to go. He jumped up and said he would bring the car out of the garage. This is where it gets interesting! He brings my car out and they say I have to pay their diagnostic fee. I said not without the diagnostics! Seems reasonable right? So I ask what's the issue with my car. They don't know yet. Jon then says I hate people that don't want to pay. I say I'm more than willing to pay if I know the issue. He then hands me my keys and tells me to never come back. Well that won't be a problem. If you're able to avoid Jon this might be a good spot. I will never know and recommend avoiding them!
