I love getting my birds food here at Parrot Connection. They have the best variety of toys, cages, bird food, and treats for all bird sizes from budgies to macaws. The staff are always very professional and courteous and willing to help If you are a bird club member you will also get a discount on your purchase So before heading to the big pet store for your needs please check this place out first

I love this place! They care so much about their birds and answer every question. The staff is awesome and super helpful. I'm so glad I found this place.. their birds are very happy and healthy. You can also take your bird in and they'll clip they're wings for free.

We love this place! Our green cheek conure Kobe just LOVES Star! When I took him in to get boarded he literally jumped out of his carrier and crawled up into her hair to nuzzle her. They cut his nails and clip his wings for free! Boarding cost is very reasonable and Kobe loves to hang out with his wigged friends. It's like bird summer camp for him.

I usually take my pups to the Pet Station up in North Reno, but I switched it up today. It's not…read morenearly as busy as the other one if you need to take the dogs for a bath. They have the same punch cards for purchase ($50 buys you a card and you fill it up like a stamp card). Their dog baths are easy for dogs to get into with a step and a door to lock them in. They have available shampoos, conditioners, brushes, scrubbing tools, towels, aprons so you don't get wet and treats to make sure your dog is happy while getting groomed. Once you're done, they also have a blow dryer to use. Friendly staff and large selection of food and treats

We took our dog right when it opened yesterday to give him a bath, this was a mistake because all…read morethe tubs (3) were filled one lady waiting. Roy told me that in the middle of the day it's very quiet it's just the opening it's very busy. We decided to wait and of course the people ahead of us were going to do a full job making sure every single part of fur was dry... I liked that they had lots of towels so there isn't a limit. The shampoo and conditioner are really good quality and left his fur super soft and shiny. Our dog, "Sawyer" isn't a fan of this but just stands there and accepts the process. I had wanted to go to this location since it opened 1 1/2 years ago. The place is very clean and well maintained. Cameron and Roy were on duty Thursday and were so nice and helpful. They clean out the tubs after each dog, I was happy since the dog ahead of us had left a ton of black fur behind.

However, the staff are also limited by the realities of working in pet retail. Are they doing their best to care for the animals? I'd say yes. Is it enough for the animals to stay healthy? I'd say no. As an experienced fishkeeper, I want to provide a 'buyer beware' for the local hobbyist community. The aquatic systems are being pushed past their biological limits. I observed overstocking in the fish tanks into 'ammonia spike' territory. Some of the fish have clamped dorsal fins. Petco is also keeping larger koi fish and faster comets together with smaller fancy goldfish. This creates too much food competition and stresses out the slower fish that struggle to get enough to eat. If you've ever purchased a fish here that dies shortly afterwards, these are likely some of the reasons: toxic water levels, starvation, and conditions you won't see until the fish you've bought dies a few days later. A 'Wellness' brand should know that fancy goldfish require stable parameters and specific GH/KH levels that a centralized big-box 'loop' simply cannot provide. If Petco (not this store, but the corporation) can't manage the basic science of a fish tank, I certainly don't trust them with my cats' specialized diets or needs. If you need basic cat and dog supplies, Petco is fine for that. It's the "Walmart" of the pet retailer world. But for serious specialized fish care? Save your money and get your fish and supplies from a reputable retailer who doesn't treat live animals like disposable inventory. Or better yet, adopt from another hobbyist who can no longer care for their fish.
