We have been using Parrish for five years ...ever since we bought our first air conditioner to replace the 38 year old system for our rental property. A year later we had to replace our contractor issued air conditioning unit for our 2nd (upstairs) zone in our current home. A year after that we had to replace our contractor issued heating and air conditioning unit for our basement and first floor heating and air conditioning. We picked Trane systems for all three replacements. We also purchased maintenance agreements on all systems on both properties. We've not had a single issue with any of our equipment and are extremely satisfied with our purchases, and all the Parrish employees with which we have had dealings. Recently, we have had electrical problems in our home. Our lights were constantly flickering in our whole home. We learned we had 3 problems. 1.) Our house has not been grounded since it was built! The siding contractor cut the ground wires into the house while putting on our siding. So as to not alert anyone to their mistake, they shoved the ground wires up under the siding to make it look like we had ground wires going in to the breaker box on the other side of the wall. We didn't. I couldn't believe it. 2.) The electrical contractors hired to build the house wired the entire house to one ground/neutral wire (not uncommon, but certainly a cheap choice in a "luxury" home). In our living room, the same electrical contractors used two 3 way switches for one-way dimmable light fixtures, and left the unused wire in one of them just hanging in the box, not attached to the switch. We don't know to what the wire is supposed to be connected. Probably a switch upstairs? 3.) All the dimmer switches in the house were wired for incandescent lights. We had no idea. Four years ago, we switched out the regular light bulbs for dimmable LED lights in all the dimmer light fixtures in the house ( a big no-no) if you have dimmer switches made for incandescent lights. Any one of the reasons could have been the culprit for our flickering lights, but Greco found two of the three issues were to blame. The first issue not related to the flickering lights (which we will have Parrish fix as soon as we can get Greco (specifically) back to our house to do the job) will be resolved and we will have a grounded house. The 2nd and 3rd issues were addressed and resolved by Greco (for now). But having only one ground/neutral wire running through the whole house could bring on another flickering problem if any one of the house's switches wires come loose (the wiring work in this house is shoddy, at best) and touch another wire in the switch. By the way, Beazer was the company that built this house. (Just saying.) Greco is absolutely great, and obviously very professional and thorough. Working with Ashley (in scheduling) and Eileen (in billing) has been a joy because they are efficient, kind, and so eager to help you resolve whatever issues you may have. I will never use any other company but Parrish for HVAC or electrical problems again. read more

Update on my review: After the company checked into my complaint, they did issue a partial refund due to the charges not having been made clear. I am very satisfied with the resolution and will continue to use their services. I will also be careful going forward to only proceed with work that is thoroughly detailed in writing accompanied by clear pricing. Very unhappy! I have been a Parrish customer for several years and part of their service plan. I had my garbage disposal replaced at the grand price of $851.00. There was nothing extraordinary about the work that would necessitate such exorbitant labor costs. I had discussed cost for the parts but was never advised the labor would be so expensive. The part itself retails for about $200-225. Even with a 50% markup, that would still leave the balance for labor costs at approx. $500 for an 1-1/2hr job, yet somehow I was getting the discounted rate for being part of their service plan. I feel completely ripped off and will be looking elsewhere for future services. This is from the invoice I received is I almost completely lacking in any kind of details whatsoever. No breakdown of part costs, details of the part(s), labor costs, nothing to show my discount for being a loyal customer and part of their service plan, only the total. Equipment: Manufacturer Model Serial Description System Tech Service Date Work Description: [[Tech #218 Parks - Raymond Service Date: 03/03/2015]] Replaced the garbage disposal. Tested all ok. Payments Type:CK Ref: $851.00 The office has refused to give me anything with more detail. There is no justification for an $851 cost to replace a garbage disposal. read more

I have been a customer of Parrish for 14 years. This is my first time posting a review of this kind on any site. About seven months ago, I had an issue with my HVAC unit which I had regularly maintained using Parrish's service plan (heat inspection/cool check). I was a given a repair quote of ~$12,000, which basically was a system replacement. Given the size of the quote, I went to two alternate providers and received two additional quotes and ultimately moved forward with a $4,000 system repair. To date, I have had no issues with the repaired system. Having been a customer of Parrish for so long, I contacted them yesterday about an issue my water heater was having. I was quoted $1,100 for the replacement part and installation. I googled the cost of the replacement part which was ~$200. I asked why the install price was so high and was told by the representative that pricing is set by the company. Amazon will install the replacement valve and include the part for a maximum price of $700. Again, being a long time customer, I called Parrish to speak to a manager about the price I was quoted. I was told the plumbing manager's name was Jen. I am yet to receive a a call back (10 hours later). I will cancel my service plans with Parrish tomorrow and highly recommend that anyone getting a quote from Parrish also get an alternate quote to price check their services. **UPDATE**: After receiving the part from Amazon, a local, reputable company installed the part for $275. Total project cost: $475, versus the initial $1,100 quote. read more

My outdoor AC/Heat Pump exchange unit broke down. After a few other companies' visit to sell me a completely new unit without ascertaining whether or not I needed one, I happened to meet a Parrish Services rep in line at Walmart. 3 days later after another company let me down (it IS a busy season), I call Parrish. The guy says he can swing by, last call, between 6-7 PM that same day! Sure enough, just before 7PM the service rep pulls up and goes right to the outdoor unit. He does a few tests, finds a bad capacitor, goes to his truck where he carries a spare, plugs it in, and just like that the unit starts up like the day before it broke. No kidding! Within 15 minutes of pulling in, my unit is fixed! Running as good as I remember---in 15 minutes! He did a thorough check on the rest of the unit and gave it a thorough cleaning to increase efficiency, and all done before the light of sunset. He was polite, knowledgeable, and completely professional. I was impressed by his humility. He answered every question I had without sounding condescending (I had, after all, not kept the unit very clean, and I know very little about how the unit works). I've read other reviews of this company that were mixed good and bad. I have to say, this was the BEST and simplest service repair call and visit I have ever had! My advice: Check and clean your unit every 6 months----and call Parrish Services for any unit problems. I know I will! read more

We have been using Parrish Services for a number of years and in the last 18 months, we have had to replace two complete HVAC systems. The main floor unit was the first to go in the middle of the summer of 2019 and the complete experience with Parrish was outstanding. They provided us with temporary portable AC units while we waited for the installation appointment. The upstairs unit failed early in the heating season so no need for temporary units, but the service was outstanding. They were prompt, courteous, very knowledgeable and didn't try to up-sell me on unnecessary items. I learned all I could about the trade by reading technical articles from manufacturers and blog posts by HVAC pros so that I would be able to know what to watch for during installation. As any pro will tell you, the key to a long-lasting system is to install it properly. They spent the time needed to thoroughly flush the line sets, and they even discovered a kink in one of them that they were able to correct by cutting the line from the kink out to the end and braising on a new section. They did not appear to take any shortcuts on either system and their follow-up maintenance work has been great so far. read more

Our A/C went out, just blowing air, definitely not cold. I have a friend who works with an HVAC company, but they were booked through the week. They suggested we call Parrish since they would probably have the manpower to get someone out quickly. I called Parrish Sunday night and they got someone out Monday before noon. The man that came out (Dan ?), was very pleasant and helpful. He called us first and made sure it wasn't something that we could fix, to save us the charge of him coming out. When he arrived, he diagnosed the problem within a few minutes. He had the part on the truck to fix the problem, so we had A/C back in less than 30 minutes. We paid just over $300 for the part and the trip out. My friend from the other company said their charge would have been about the same, so I feel their price was competitive. We really appreciate having A/C before it reaches 90 degrees tomorrow. Everyone I spoke to was pleasant, they were able to come out on short notice, and they fixed our A/C on the spot. We're happy customers and will definitely use them again if we have other issues. read more

Been using Parrish for the past 2 years after having them show up as assigned by our AHS plan. We also has similar BAD results with United Air and Temp and I would say if they are ever assigned to come to your residence don't aloow them to come, request a second company. They (United Air and Temp) sent a tech one day only to tell me the Sr. Tech would have to make a visit the next day to confirm his diagnostics. Come to find out the compressor on the unit had gone out and the Sr. Tech told AHS this was my fault and they (AHS) called me to tell me they wouldn't cover my unit. Thats when I called Parrish myself and got the second opinoin. Come to find out a MORE qualified tech from Parrish rather than the Sr. Tech at United Air and Temp disagreed with the Sr. Tech and reported his findings to AHS. At that time they covered my unit and instead of replacing my compressor they showed up with a completely new unit. If there was anyway I could "Blackkball" United Air and Temp I would. read more

Parrish Services is an unethical business who makes money by ripping customers off and providing horrible customer service. After missing my scheduled appointment, which they would only give me a four hour window (I've since found companies who provide 2 hour windows) they missed the window and were an additional half hour late arriving for my repair. They told me my unit could not be repaired and needed a complete replacement over $12,000. Upon further estimates I found out that we could in fact repair the unit easily and inexpensively, extending the life of the unit at least 5 years. I asked for a comparable replacement, and recieved three additional estimates for the EXACT REPLACEMENT UNIT ranging from $7800 - $8300. I decided to to some research and found out that they burned down a house a few years ago and had many complaints filed against them on numerous review websites (the ones you dont have to pay to be apart of). Buyer Beware!! read more

I am not only a new customer, but new to the area as well. The second week living in my new home my AC broke, in the middle of a heat wave. Parrish came the next day, stayed late to fix it, and made sure I was comfortable before leaving. I took out a service contract and recently used their plumber Joe, and their electrician, Greg. Both of them were courteous, knowledgeable, and on time. Joe politely and patiently explained the plumbing in my new home. Greg spent more time than expected because the electrical fixtures I was replacing were not originally installed correctly, and he wanted to be sure my home was safe and up to code. I appreciate his exceptional diligence and his cheerful willingness to not just get the job done, but to get it done right. I am glad I discovered such a reliable, professional company and highly recommend them to anyone in the area. read more

My wife asked me to look into this company when our furnace broke last week and, frankly speaking, if she hadn't, I never would have picked them based on the Yelp reviews. I'm glad we did. The company was great. The sales guy was upfront with us and patiently and professionally answered the questions my wife and I put to him without batting an eye - even to the point of addressing the concerns I had about the poor reviews on Yelp! Fortunately they were able to have them come back the very next day (don't expect this as the rule, they do have to schedule service!) to install the new furnace - they even had plumbers come out the weekend after and move our gas pipe (so we could access the air filter) without any extra charge. I recommend this company to anyone looking for a competitive quote and professional service. read more

We had an excellent experience with Parrish. After another company told us our system was broken beyond repair and needed a complete replacement, Parrish was among companies we contacted to gather estimates. For free, Parrish's owner gave us a second opinion that the system could in fact be fixed. This was confirmed by the original company when we made them come back out (their second tech found the same fixable problem as Parrish). Parrish's two technicians spent about 10 hours custom-creating new ductwork for our new evaporator (indoor unit), as we have an odd system with both an oil furnace and heat pump. Several months later, everything is still working well. We owe Parrish for saving us thousands that would have been spent on a complete system replacement if Parrish hadn't given us a free second opinion. read more

I was impressed by the technician who sincerely seemed to want to understand the problem behind a boiler that would not ignite. I handed him the manufacturer's instructions and he already had the manufacturer's diagrams loaded on his ipad. He reported his findings based on conversations with the manufacturer and confirmed his diagnosis with the manufacturer. I was impressed by the research and follow-up he did with the manufacturer and the follow-up with my boiler unit. He also followed his firm's protocol regarding scheduling future appointments. Top notch! Also was impressed by the staff who took the calls, scheduled the appointments, and followed up with the technician with my questions. They were extremely professional and pleasant and excellent follow through. Overall top notch company! read more

They did a complete replacement of my HVAC system. Worked with my Home Warranty company to help defray the cost and provided excellent service. I had three other vendors try to resolve my problem and Parrish was able to diagnose the problem and gave us real options from repair to replace with no hard sell. My wife and I decided to replace the system as the builder grade system had been put through a lot of abuse by the previous owner and we wanted some peace of mind. On install day they provided two crews which were professional, courteous and just plain nice. They did a great job with the install and My wife and I could not be happier. Based on this experience, we will always recommend Parrish to all of our friends and neighbors. read more

I noticed an approx. 1/2" - 3/4" separation in the conduit pipe running from our service panel, around the exterior of our house, and into our backup generator. The separation occurred right at the corner of our house. I called Parrish on a Thursday and Eric Smith arrived the next day. He evaluated the separation of the conduit, sealed it up all around and applied duct tape on top of the seal. He described it as a temporary solution that should last around two years. He also provided an estimate to remove all the old conduit (installed in 2009) and replacing it with a lower profile copper composite cable rated for supporting a 24kW generator. We are very happy with Eric's honesty and work. He is knowledgeable and a first-rate tradesman. read more

Always communicative about technician arrival time, expected duration of event, and any changes in schedule. Makes it easy to adjust your own availability if need be. Technicians always appear to be well informed and competent at their trade. They will consistently make recommendations for 'enhanced services' or mechanical/electrical protections (surge suppressors, bio cleaning of HVAC/ducts, etc.) but are never pushy about it. I regard it as an easy way to stay informed of things I should be considering. Considering the price of the HVAC Maintenance program, it's a no-brainer to spend the $200 ever year and have assurances everything is being looked after on a regular basis (includes a Heat and Cool visit, per year). read more

This company was dispatched by my home warranty company to diagnose and fix a plumbing problem. Another company had been dispatched six months prior, diagnosed the problem incorrectly, and made a huge mess, which they didn't clean up when they left. After spending a good deal of time investigating my tech correctly diagnosed the problem, explained what it was and how he was going to fix it. He treated me just as courteously as he would have if I was payiing for the repair myself. The last company acted as though I was bothersome because my job was a warranty claim. My tech was very clean, very polite, and very professional. I would absolutely use them again and reccommend them to people I know. read more

We have been with Parrish for several years. We get a spring check up for our air-conditioner and a fall check for our furnace. We also just bought a new air conditioner/ furnace unit. It's more compact than our old one. All the technicians that we have dealt with have been very respectful!! They know what their doing! We also just had our gas fireplace check out for safety. Matt was very good and even cleaned and polished both of my double sided glass windows. Parrish sends you a e-mail the day before to remind you of your appointment. Right before your technician comes to your home you get a e-mail with a picture of your technician. No surprises at the door. You know who is going to show up. read more

As a condition of selling our home we needed a professional to inspect and correct any deficiencies found. Our realtor recommended Parrish Services. The tech who did our inspection was courteous and professional. He recommended some minor upgrades without a pushy up sell, we passed on them though. Our HVAC system needed some maintenance; he knew this was not the outcome we expected. He informed us of the work we needed with the specific conditions that he found that indicated it was needed. He also explained our options and the possible outcomes of those options. He completed the work then left his work areas clean and organized. We highly recommend Parrish Services. read more

Fixed my pinhole leak in the copper pipes of my home. Professional and courteous. Waaay overpriced. Charged $1,180 for three patched pipes. Done. What really got me disturbed was two days after I paid the bill with my credit card, ANOTHER charge for $132 came through my account to Parrish Services. Totally unauthorized. I called and left messages with their billing department as well as with their president. No answer. My bank took over and their fraud claims department is looking into the matter. They have asked if this is genuine fraud/theft, would I prosecute? Would I do business with a company that uses your credit card for unauthorized charges? read more
