Insurance is required either from your home owners policy or purchased from the company. There was an issue with being able to safely leave the grounds after hours. My code didn't work. We had to get creative at finding a way out. The problem was frustrating & preventable. I think I am the guinea pig for helping people to prevent this from happening to someone else. Emergency numbers need to be placed at all keypads. I was called a few days later with a temporary code that will work while mine gets fixed.

Bill Craft is the owner, and was very responsive to all my questions. I rented a 5x10 storage unit…read morefor my daughter from May-August and it was large enough to hold all her contents, plus her friends belongings. The cost was $70 per month. I did not get a temperature controlled unit and her belongings (bed, TV, etc. all were fine. Upon vacating the unit, my $25 deposit was returned within a week. Additionally, the unit was conveniently located off the highway and my daughter was able to access it whenever she needed to, by using a code to enter the facility. And her own personal lock on the unit. My only suggestion would be for Craft self storage to implement Venmo or some other payment processing system. Sending the check in an envelope via snail mail, was just a minor inconvenience. But other than that - it was a great experience and met our storage needs.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICES AND LOTS OF MOUSE POOP!!! I am devastated. During a major life transition I…read morerelied on a business to do as they promised- take care of my valuable items. Moving is stressful as it is, but I had to deal with MOUSE POOP all over the place too. I paid extra for the climate controlled unit to ensure my things were safe. A few months before moving in to my new place, my mother stopped by and noticed what appeared to be mouse droppings on the floor. AT THIS TIME, Jennifer assured her that she was taking care of it. Fast forward to last month when moving everything out and wow- LOADS OF MOUSE DROPPINGS EVERYWHERE!!! I had mouse droppings all in between my antiques/furniture, all of my kitchen ware was filled with MOUSE POOP, and all of my books had MOUSE DROPPINGS/URINE. My expensive allergan down comforter- FULL of holes and MOUSE POOP! THEN when unpacking, I also found- A DEAD MOUSE!!! Come to find out, Jennifer had informed other customers that a unit near mine contained birdseed and they had a MOUSE PROBLEM. My items being destroyed could have been prevented if my things were taken care of by Jennifer when she said she would. Apparently, I am not the only one to have had a problem with Jennifer and her lack of honesty and accountability. So unprofessional! She is refusing to take any accountability, and will not call me back. I am so sad, again, all I wanted was for my items to be taken care of. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! I will be uploading all the pictures of my destroyed items and THE DEAD MOUSE this afternoon!

Night and Day Difference from Other Storage Facilities…read more After dealing with a frustrating experience at Storage King here in Roanoke, I was honestly expecting more of the same, but this place completely changed that. From the start, everything was handled the way it should be. The process was smooth, communication was clear, and I was able to get everything set up without wasting time or jumping through hoops. No confusion, no runaround, just straightforward service. Customer service here is on a completely different level. I was treated with respect, not talked over, and every question I had was answered professionally. That alone made a huge difference compared to what I dealt with elsewhere. David, who helped me, was outstanding. As a fellow military veteran, I really appreciated his professionalism, respect, and the way he carried himself. You can tell he takes pride in helping people and doing things the right way. I also appreciated the transparency. No surprise charges, no pressure to add extras, and everything was explained upfront so I knew exactly what I was agreeing to. The facility itself is clean, secure, and well maintained, which gave me real confidence storing my classic Mustang there. When you're trusting a place with a vehicle like that, security and upkeep matter, and this place checks all the boxes. Overall, this was a night and day difference from Storage King. If you're looking for a storage facility that actually values your time and treats you like a customer should be treated, this is the place to go. Semper Fidelis

No issues with water or pests in the 5+ years I maintained a unit at this location. Good value for the unit size, too.
