Cost was close to $8k…read moregiven it was only 1- 26 ft truck with no furniture and mostly odds and ends with lots of storage totes. Types of items matter with pricing I learned. Everything was very smooth and the logistics & price were very good for the quality & convenience of service. A crew of 3 loaded the truck, & with our house having 3 levels I was glad the movers were young and strong guys. On the receiving end they had 2 movers to unload, but it was much easier in Florida with a 1 level home. All in all they were professional & efficient. Any time I move in the future I'll be using Varsity.

My experience with Forward Storage in Salem, VA has been awful!…read more Since they were bought by Mitra Investment Partners about a year ago the place has become run down. They don't appear to do repairs to the facility and there is no security. The gate has been broken for months, so anyone can get in at any time. They are refusing to fix it, and they have been abusive and have been harassing me for complaining the most about it. However, all of the other tenants I've met have expressed the same concerns to me and to the employee. Additionally, the rear of the facility has a concrete wall that has fallen into the storm water drainage, and tenants have complained that they can actually see through the floor in the rear of their units and out the back of the building! I have notified the city of Salem about this dangerous condition, but all the Mitra Investment Partners employees did was harass me further. The facility is in a very dark industrial part of town and the main thing we are really paying for is the gate! Regardless of the price, if there is no security and the location is unsafe it is not worth it. You may want to look elsewhere for your self storage needs than any location owned by Mitra Investment Partners. I guess the one thing they don't invest in is their properties!

So as I get into the compound I notice there is trash every where. I kept seeing nails and tacks stuff big enough to pop a tire. And the office door on the inside someone had wrapped a banana peel around the door and let it mummy-FYI. ​so I get out and as a furniture repo man several years ago I noticed a smell. That you don't forget. Roaches and plenty of them. But I keep telling myself they can't be in the controlled ones. So mine was located all the way near the dumpster. So the door has a pin door lock. Basically it has 123456 with a pin you push then turn to open. Not all of the did its about 50 50. So I put in door code and it won't work I try and try. So indemnity we contact the company and I wait and wait and wait. We'll eventually we get a response Basically blaming me. We'll it doesn't work and I get someone on the phone that night to promise me that at 7am it will be fixed. So we pay for another day on a rental truck and I go park and sleep in truck. The next day it is not only still broke but same promises just add two hours to every call till no one answers. This went from a thrusday to a Monday till I said I want my money back. The man I spoke with said ok I got you. Well here we are a month later now and they only offered 50 percent of a refund still blaming me saying we didn't call and blah but they are still trying to bill our cards. I say in a hoggs ​​ass eatting a ham sandwich. This is not going to fly. Aside from the dirty grounds the bugs you can smell and the con they are running. I am a ex con and I promise you the lack of cameras and the set up of property this is a roberty waiting to happen and more. But big shout out to forward storage for treating me like garbage may your business go belly up, YOU DO NOT DESERVE IT. PS BETWEEN ALL THE EXPENSES THAT CAME I AM SPEAKING WITH A LAWYER
