I did not get a temperature controlled unit and her belongings (bed, TV, etc. all were fine. Upon vacating the unit, my $25 deposit was returned within a week. Additionally, the unit was conveniently located off the highway and my daughter was able to access it whenever she needed to, by using a code to enter the facility. And her own personal lock on the unit. My only suggestion would be for Craft self storage to implement Venmo or some other payment processing system. Sending the check in an envelope via snail mail, was just a minor inconvenience. But other than that - it was a great experience and met our storage needs.

I was also very pleased with how polite and helpful Todd and Joshua were. Turns out I am not able to keep my vehicle in storage due to the fact that it is not fully running at the moment but Joshua showed me units anyways to compare sizing visually and showing me the lay out of the facility. Todd went ahead and wrote down all of the info on the cost and additional info I would need to have when I get the vehicle running. Their attitude towards me was very welcoming and really showing me of how much they would appreciate my business there and that's something I really don't see every day. Once I get my Chevy running again I will definitely store it there to keep it safe.

Avoid Storage King Roanoke at all costs…read more This was easily the worst experience I've ever had trying to rent a storage unit, and I've rented many over the years. I showed up during normal business hours expecting to handle paperwork in person, only to find no one on site. Instead, I was forced to sit in my car for over an hour dealing with their call center just to try and complete a simple rental. That alone is unacceptable for a storage facility. The customer service was even worse. Multiple representatives constantly talked over me, interrupted me mid-sentence, and showed zero professionalism. No apologies, just attitude. I was even given pushback for simply explaining that I had already provided my card information. On top of that, they charged my card the same day and processed the reservation into a leased unit, even though I scheduled it for a later date and I didn't even sign any of their paperwork or lease. That's a major red flag. They also tried to push their in-house protection plan, which I declined since I already have coverage through USAA. That seemed to add even more attitude to the interaction, which was completely unnecessary. When I asked to speak with someone on site, I was told they "couldn't reach the manager" and that they would "send them an email to contact me later." I explained that I don't answer unknown numbers due to the amount of spam calls these days and asked for a direct number, but they refused and would only transfer calls to an office that no one was working in. One call ended with no resolution, and on the next call I was again talked over and even placed on hold mid-sentence. The entire process was disorganized, unprofessional, and honestly felt like no one is actually managing that property in person. All I wanted to do was finalize paperwork and provide insurance and registration to store my classic Mustang. Something that should have taken minutes turned into a complete waste of time. I canceled immediately and went with another storage company in town. The difference was night and day. They had an actual on-site manager, treated me with respect, and handled everything quickly and professionally. No issues, no attitude. Storage King Roanoke is the definition of poor management and terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.
