I had my AC replaced in 2023 and it has been a decent result. The initial installation was messy and installation was questionable. The messy part was picking up screws and metal scraps over the next week. I didn't need myself or neighbors popping tires bc of my home improvements. The questionable part was the issues the other techs found during the monthly maintenance (plan is pre paid for 3 years). They did correct the issues without question or additional cost. I am at the end of the 3 years service plan and over all worried about what other issues may arise, thus I renewed my plan for month to month at $14 per month. I have received conflicting information between the call center and the service techs when scheduling my maintenance. The tech say you are entitled to 2 maintenance visit under the plan (no cost) but when you call to schedule the call center states you will be charged $89 for the next visit. Now that I am paying for the service I will be requiring the twice yearly checks. Like they say, the company is large with a lot of turnover over so you can just "let them know".... We decided to get a second opinion, and it turns out the unit just needed a simple cleaning. The second company got everything working perfectly for a fraction of the cost. The Family Plan membership is JUST a ploy to keep you on the hook and NOT call another provider. Do NOT make the same mistake I did! WARNING!!!WARNING!!!- While Parker & Sons tries to publicly pretend they are a family owned business- THEY ARE ACTUALLY A PRIVATE EQUITY OWNED CRAP SHOW. (**I had to do some digging on this- because you know, waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and failure to show, then calling, and waiting and waiting some more-- I had some time!!) BUT they are owned by a Private Equity national home repair and maintenance conglomerate known as the Wrench Group, LLC. They "prioritized me" and told me I would have a service tech out between 2-6pm. 6:15pm still NO service tech. No call. I had to call THEM to check status. Obviously home sourced rep answers with pots and family home noise in the background. They assure me SOMEONE will come out. Finally, a tech shows up at almost 8:00pm, JUST as a monsoon storm arrives. (Not his fault--HIRE MORE TECHS!!). Due to safety we decide to that he will call dispatch and they will call me between 7:30-8 to arrange someone to come out in their 8-10am service window. 8:15am, NO CALL. I call them- they tell me that they see my request and can have someone out between 10-2pm!! (**THIS IS THEIR TREATMENT OF A VIP/PRIORITY CUSTOMER- NOW 24 HOURS AND STILL NO TECH.) THEN- When I call to check status of things- they assure me someone will reach out 30 minutes prior to arriving in the 10-2pm window AND THEN (I kid you not) ATTEMPT to upsell me on the phone to have an Electrician come out and do a 'panel inspection'. (We had a new panel installed in conjunction with SRP 2 years ago!!!)- So I call out the rep on the fact that they have an awful lot of nerve trying to upsell me on NEW services when they STILL haven't provided me with actual service I called them for. Our AC system has recently developed an extremely loud fan noise that has become unbearable. We scheduled a paid service visit, and the technician said the issue was caused by our filter. Fine -- we replaced it, but the problem remained exactly the same (and the fan had never sounded like this before). Then we paid again for an annual inspection, hoping to get a clear diagnosis. However, the technician once again said it was the filter. We even replaced the filter three times in one month, yet the noise not only persisted but got even louder. We wrote to request a follow-up inspection since the issue was never resolved -- but our email has been completely ignored. read more

I went through Home Depot to purchase a water softener and reverse osmosis system. A young man came to my home and before I knew it, the system cost over $10,000. He Assured me that I needed that level of equipment, so I signed on the dotted line. Never have I been more sorry. They schedule you for the very next day, so no 3-day window of time to change your mind. While running lines through my attic, one guy stepped through my ceiling, and cracked 2 sides around the attic entry way so that the cracks separate from my garage ceiling and left their mess. Once the RO system was installed, my refrigerator ice maker stopped working and hasn't made ice since. They've come out 3 times only to tell me my Bosch refrigerator doesn't play nicely with their RO system. Why didn't they tell me this before? Oh and the $10,000 price tag? I've had 3 contractors tell me they could done the job for a few hundred dollars. Home Depot should be ashamed of themselves for contracting with Parker and Sons for this type of work. If I could leave zero or a negative 5 Stars I would. I have actually used Parker and sons on several occasions, but some reason this one really hit. My boyfriend called in to make an appointment and they were not able to come the same day. We needed somebody to take a look at our septic tank as we were having debris come back up into Our pipes into our shower. They had scheduled somebody the following day between 2 and 6 PM. My boyfriend took off work, and he was home by 12:30. We didn't get a call until 5 o'clock saying that they Do not service septic tanks and they can give us a number for a referral. We have been waiting all day, I'm trying to avoid using our water since yesterday and you guys call- the very last hour of of the timeframe that you gave to us saying that you can't help us? Parker and Sons didn't even bother to look at the reason why they were coming out until That last minute? That is some BS. Never going to use this company again. read more

Called because air conditioning Parker and Sons installed in 2020 was not working. Attitude of service rep was not great. He fixed some part under warranty and cleaned coils for a charge. He refused to come in and check that it was working after completing the repair. Of course he did not fix the problem - it never got cooler- and we had to call again the next day to have them come fix the air conditioner. We asked NOT to have the same tech. But they sent him anyway. ( so much for listening to customer requests). The tech smelled strongly of cigarette smoke - not someone I want in my home. Why would you send someone who smells like that? These guys are liars. DO NOT TRUST THEM. I had these P&S out for one thing a year ago and got sold their annual maintenance package. at that time they sold us into getting these things on our unit in case we loose electricity, it wont short out the units. After the install/paid $900 they told me they will only work for one year. Since we were sold the year package, we had them come out to check the units and insulation and used them for everything we could. Was told they would check all smoke detectors and change all batteries. Came out, pushed some buttons and did not change ANY batteries. Told me my 3ton unit was dying last year. Had Foley's come check it and another company as well and they told me there was nothing wrong with the unit, and it is still running fine. Then had P&S check insulation right before my maintenance contract was up and they told me we were down to 3" of insulation on average. Quoted $3500 to bring it back to R38. Had two other companies come out to get a quote and BOTH companies showed me pictures (P&S did not) that our insulation is at 10" and with the SRP rebate would only put me out $800 to bring it up to 14". I went up to the attic to check and there are SEVEN measuring sticks up there, all reading 10" These guys are liars. DO NOT TRUST THEM. JJ&R should really stop advertising for them. read more

We've used Parker & Sons for years, no issues, they always did a great job. However, the deal breaker was when a team member, Michael, came to my house to show me new A/C options. This is my experience of what happened. I had no idea it would be such a hard sell, very intense. Like a car salesman. After seeing two options one at $16K and the other at $23K, he said he'd run a credit check to see if I qualified for a loan. He assured me it would be one hit on my credit report for a hard pull to see financing options. He processed my info and told me Wells Fargo approved me. After going over the numbers, I explained I needed to research other companies for different price quotes. I had no idea how much A/C units cost and I wanted to do my research before agreeing to anything. He became a bit snippy and left. Days later - I received a credit card from Well Fargo for $26,900! He literally opened a credit card without my consent. It took me a week (time away from work!) talking with the bank and credit agencies to close the card/to have it removed from my credit report. They both let me know that what he did was absolutely wrong and illegal according to the Truth in Lending Act. When I called to let a P&S manager, Austin, know, he replied, "I'm so sorry that happened, I'll have to do some coaching with him." And then... tried to offer me a discount on a new unit or a free year of membership. I explained I was absolutely not interested, I was still so upset and he made it worse by trying to sell me products. Do NOT let them talk you into their Family Plan!!!! They do not work on what they did not install if it's older than the factory warranty. We had a hose come loose on our reverse osmosis system that sent water everywhere. I called Parker and Son's. They sent someone out and he determined that they cannot touch it. . .not even to just replace a hose. Unreal. ! They did not mention that they do not work on such systems when they sold me on the Family Plan. The technician that came out did try to sell me a new reverse osmosis system. Pretty slick of them. The Family Plan is a selling tool. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. Also, I have spent a lot of money in the past with them for two water heaters, new water system pressure valve and a new home electric service panel. That didn't matter. Oh, and when they out to check my electrical system as part of their Family Plan, the tech said two of my ground fault outlets were bad. He replaced both for the great price of $500. In April, we purchased a new AC unit. The tech was able to come fast (of course bcs our AC was broken and they were about to make $$$). We were also on the family plan. Part of the sell "after we install, we have techs come and ensure the system is installed and running properly and everything is in top order". The first time the techs were supposed to come, they were running too late so we needed to reschedule. Several calls later, we finally rescheduled. Day comes and no one shows so we call to see if the tech was delayed only to be told that they didn't have us on the books at all. Seven calls later.... Still no appointment. They had no issue taking 20k from us but can't seem to get them to do the work! Funny part is, every customer service person we speak with says "this is embarrassing and unacceptable. I'm escalating to a supervisor and they have to get back to you before the end of their next shift". Apparently over 7 supervisors never came in for their shift. I've given up on the appointment but will surely be canceling our plan with this company and should demand a refund since we got nothing from them. read more

Very good about explaining everything from what needed to be done to what he was going to do in servicing my unit. He was friendly and answered all of my questions so I could understand. He couldn't have done a better job and it was a pleasure doing business with him. Parker and Sons have serviced other fixes around my house throughout the years. I highly recommend this company. We purchased a Mini-split AC system from Parker in 2020. Both units have failed. We find out they are not rated for severe weather. Parker tells us they are still waiting for a part (s) from the manufacturer. Our home has been without air conditioning for 16 days now and we still await warranty repair while we have triple digit heat. Poor selection of equipment, service personnel, manufacturer, customer service and/or supervisory follow-up. "Comfort Guaranty", "Lemon Guaranty", "Parts/Service Warranty" - just meaningless words from Parker & Sons, which they have not lived up to. I'm writing this review because Parker & Son's are a company that have no integrity at all. Parker & Son's allow their technicians to SCAM homeowners and make them believe they have issues with their AC units when there is nothing wrong!!! We had one of Parker & Son's technicians (David) go into our attic to service our units. He informed us both units were leaking Freon from the coils, and they could not be repaired. David said they would need the coils replaced costing us around $13,000. Or he said we could replace them both with new units that would cost around $20,000. Of course, DAVID said it would be best to replace them with new units. He showed us a video of our units and the leaks. Which we later found out the video David showed us was NOT our units at all! David tried to DECIVE and SCAM us with a video of somebody else's units not ours. We found this out later when we had another AC company come in for a second opinion. This technician said there was no Freon leaking in either unit. The video he showed us looked nothing like the video David from Parker & Son's showed us! DAVID tried to SCAM us with a false video!!! The service we requested was to have a new power line ran to our pool pump. approx 100 feet with electrical wire and conduit. The bill came to 3936.00 plus tax. Allowing 9 hours for the actual labor it took, and over 400.00 for materials for 100 feet of wire and 90 for conduit above ground, not like it had previously been done, this comes to a labor charge of 400.00 per hour. Rather excessive since this was not emergency or weekend repair but actual time on the job. I didn't see the bill my wife paid, or I would have discussed it then, When I called Parker and son, I was told that price included a warranty and parts, which I explained was in my calculations. I was told that was the standard price for that job. 400.00 per hour for an unskilled labor job as way too much. Get a second opinion before opening your wallet to these guys.We were charged way too much and have no recourse apparently, after questioning this with them directly.
