As someone who lives in wayne and has ciliac this diner is very accommodating to my needs and the staff is always very nice, attentive, and respectful to all who walk in to the diner and the owner is always walking around checking on the customers making you feel like youre home. I'm very happy to go their all the time with my husband. The food is absolutely amazing and amazing portions that come on the plate. We are very pleased with this diner. Let me start with the positives...the service was friendly and there is plenty of parking. You definitely feel like you are taken back in time with the dated decor, mirrored walls and carpeting. The food was subpar and didn't seem very eye appealing when it was brought to the table. I got the Greek wrapper and it came with a large portion of fries which seemed not in proportion with the wrap on the plate. I would recommend maybe offering grilled vegetables as side dish instead. It is your typical diner food but it could be more appealing with a little bit more effort in presentation. The cream of broccoli soup that I tried was rather bland and needed a bit of flavor seasoning. It was a rather disappointing lunch trip. read more

Surprised to see the lower rating here. When I went, I had a pleasant experience. If you are looking for a stereotypical, big, metallic, diner, you won't find one better than the Park Wayne Diner. There is plenty of seating inside too. The waitress was nice, however, I will say it appeared they were understaffed. She was rushing from table to table. In town for work and this place got such bad reviews I figured I had to check it out. I was greeted by nice young lady who showed me to a seat and left me with a menu. I was waited on promptly by a pleasant waitress. The place was busy but the staff appeared to be keeping up with no problem. I placed my order waited no more than 15 minutes for my meal. I got the roast turkey dinner which was delicious. The portion was huge and I ended up bringing half home. When I cashed out the gentleman at the register was friendly and plesent to speak with. I've been going to the Park Wayne diner with my girlfriend Michelle every week twice a week sometimes and we love it ! George and Moody are the best! They have amazing food and the desserts are to die for . They have an amazing staff and especially John John! We love everything about this diner ! We have a great time every time we go there . The staff treats you like your family . If you want great food, reasonable prices then come to the Park Wayne diner . You won't be disappointed. As to some of the reviews I read they must be talking about the previous owners or someone else because George and Moody took over new ownership back in October of 2019 and they are great people that are very humble and love to make their customers happy . I want to start off by saying, I love diners! So I've been to a fair share of diners. Park Wayne always greets me like they've known me for years and I love that when it comes to diners. The waiters/waitresses, hostesses and owner are always beyond amazing and accommodating. I've gotten breakfast, lunch, dinner, 3AM meals and have never been let down. Even with COVID, the staff have been awesome with the precautions that I have seen them taking. Amazing food. Personal favorite meal is Salmon Filet. A bit on the pricey side, but so worth it. Dear Yelp why can't I leave zero score.... so I refused to go here, my wife says but its the closest restaurant to our house. I tell her it is horrible I have a problem everytime we go. Last time they sat us and forgot us so we left. Now we go, after I kicked and screamed I dont eat here and guess what. We walk in and the 1st waitress sees us say what do I tell them.... Just a diner with no class or character. On arriving, hostess did not greet us. Upon seating, table was dirty and we had to wait 10 mins for menus. Menu was oily, waiter was impolite and was not exactly happy and willing to take our order. Barely spoke English and order was incorrect. Food came and sausages were over cooked-hard as rock...actually bent fork upon cutting into them. No "unlimited refills" here - just one. Cheap. Upon receiving the bill, I paid at the register, no words from hostess..not one!!! also noticed, owner was in the middle of a dispute with other customers next to front door. Unprofessional. Three stars only because my second biggest restaurant peeve is getting all your food at once! Service was good with this one exception. The portions were huge! Prices were average. Special dinners and lunches come with free dessert. The tiramisu pudding is outrageously delish. I had a totally vegetarian meal-not on purpose, I just went with a totally different choice of foods. Broccoli and cheese soup was hot and very good. I also had a side salad that was so fresh it was still crisp the next day. Great French dressing, was the thickest I have seen in a long time. They also served a chick pea salad with fresh herbs that was very good. A basket of hot fresh bread and rolls was also served. My main course was the Penne with Portobello mushrooms in a creamy mushroom sauce. It was good but the penne was too soft and the sauce had a bit of a flour flavor to it. Dessert was the bread pudding which was just ok. More custard would have been welcomed. I would try them again for sure. read more

Very ehhhh is all I can say. This is the go to diner for me and my friends when I am at home since it is close to where I live and always open. There's been times I gotten food and I loved it and other times that I am blown away and was like "they actually served me this?!" I don't usually order anything too crazy, most of the times it is just typical diner food. Disco Fries (Gravy & Cheese) French Onion Soup Burger with Curly Fries Like I said, food can be hit or miss depending on the times you go and if certain chefs are in or not. Service is where I really ask myself why I keep coming back sometimes. Most of the servers I get are usually not that great and come off rude. I get that we are here late most of the times (11PM-2AM) and they probably don't like that but then why work that shift if you are just gonna be rude? The service has rubbed my friends and I wrong too many times. I always believe that you should ALWAYS tip the people serving you but I always question it here when it comes down to paying for my meal. Wish I could rate it lower. Worst diner I've ever ate at. Ordered blueberry pancakes and an omelet to go. Pancakes were totally raw in the middle and the omelet was rubbery and over cooked. I went back with the raw pancakes to return them and get my money back. I told the lady that they were raw, she opened the container looked in and examined them and then proceeded to assist another customer who was in line behind me, I waited. She then came back to me and told me she could not refund the money for the pancakes because I paid with a credit card. I could not believe this so I clarified this and she said there is no way to give the money back. I find this hard to believe. She asked if I wanted to replace the pancakes, but I didn't want more raw pancakes. I would advise anyone to avoid this diner at all costs. Honestly I used to love this diner since they have pretty good food depending what you order and it's convenient considering I live so close to it. I've been trying to go every now and then during the pandemic. Last couple of times the food has been off, I let it go. But I do not appreciate ordering a chef salad that is $13.75 on your site and being charged $17.65, the guy didn't give me my receipt which was weird considering he had it in his hands but I left trusting I would be charged correctly. It came with a soup, Greek side salad, drink, and dessert. My favorite part was the flaky crust on the spinach pie. And the Greek salad was a true Greek salad, with a dolma and all. My lunch date ordered the French dip sandwich. He said it was great but the "au jus" was a little salty. He still practically ate the whole thing. On two different occasions I heard people from nearby tables say "oh, wow" when their plates were being served. It sounds like everyone liked the portions and looks of the food they ordered. She has dark hair with glasses. When she sat down in the booth next to me she was creating a schedule for her employees. Wow, this place is SO much better than it was when it was the King George Diner. It's a completely different place. They completely renovated it, and everything looks very fresh and updated. The menu, too, is completely redone. My friend and I had lunch here, and we ordered two different salads. The salads arrived shortly, and they were enormous, fresh, and delicious. One of the best salads I have ever had at a diner, or anywhere else. Their menu is now super vegetarian friendly as well. This is probably going to be the most odd and uncomfortable review that I have ever wrote on yelp and I'm going to be A happy medium. First off parking was great the restaurant looked kind of cool and everything was looking great we ordered the best matzot ball soup you could possibly imagine and I am the queen of matzoh ball soup. My friend lives in this area I was surprised to see that they even had multiple soup but I loved it it was perfect amazing the balls the broth the chicken it was just amazing I ordered some breakfast that I thought would be a little different so I really didn't touch it I just put it in a container to go and brought it home I had ordered for dessert what I believed to be a coconut custard pie and it looked beautiful in the case. It was uncut and fresh and I asked our server Tiffany if in fact coconut custard and she said yes. Here's the odd part of my yelp review Tiffany was obviously having a very rough night and she definitely was not in the mood to even crack a smile be friendly at all with us and at first we did not take it personally. But after a visit to our table she literally took or a dessert order and offered coffee with her back turned to us which we thought was so strange. I've never in my life had a server ever literally talk to me where I was staring at the back of their ponytail. When she walked away my girlfriend had said "oh my God why is she so mean that's the rudest way to talk to people you are serving it's not like we did anything to her" When the coconut custard pie had came I took one bite and spit it into my paper napkin. It tasted like it was in the refrigerator for about five days. I couldn't find Tiffany but there was an older brunette lady who was thin working as the receptionist who happened to see me spit out the food and she said what's wrong and I said oh my God it taste so bad it taste like it's been in the refrigerator for a week. She smelled it and took it with her and she told me to come up to the case with her. In the front case there was a coconut custard pie that was untouched and Tiffany my server gave me a very old piece. And the receptionist lady was nice enough to cut me a fresh piece. And then my girlfriend decided to order a piece of cheesecake. Tiffany finally came over and she was a little disgruntled that we had had new desserts sitting in front of us and wanted to know how we got them. Anyway she came by and swiped the receipt off the table and put down a new one airing on the strawberry cheesecake that my friend had ordered. It was conundrum at first to wonder what it was that we had done to deserve her being so cold and unwelcoming but my friend was like "screw her" Not realizing that the server was sitting directly in back of us in another booth I had said "she's probably pissed off because you took forever telling her what you wanted to order" We didn't care obviously something was bothering this server that I can't control I had a bad week myself and I left her seven dollars cash on the table and we left. We were wondering though if she was the type of server that would mess with our food. I couldn't believe that she would give me a nasty ass piece of pie like that instead of just giving me a fresh piece I think that's really bad on her part. I think that I would only come in here for that matter ball soup or have it picked up for me from my friend in that area I would never want to sit at that girls table ever again but one thing is for certain the food is really good there There was another server who is a little overweight with brown curly hair she was bubbly and fun we wished we would've gotten her section Had we had a pleasant experience with this Tiffany check I would've been up there all the time and this would've had five stars read more

New owners are doing a great job. Don't believe the fake reviews written by one of their competitors below. They don't do a very good job of disguising this fact in their fake reviews.The service and food had definitely fallen the past year or so under former owner. The quality of the food is rising daily and is almost back to where it once was under old owner when still really good. BTW, one of the first moves new management made was to fire Jasmine.
