This diner was one of the best I have been to. When you walk in to the left you see the nice large booths, they are very comfortable. The menu is very nicely designed with tons of food options available for all pallets. We started off with the General tso fried calamari. It's from the appetizer section of the menu. It intrigued us so we had to try it. What an amazing creation. It was like heaven in my mouth. The glaze is just perfect, it's not over done nor is it spicy. The portobello chicken salad with fresh mozzarella was delicious. The dressing was just right. The grilled vegetable platter was also delicious and the veggies were fresh. Next time we will try the peanut butter pie. I heard its to die for and I'm sure it is because this place was great. The owner, Steve, is also a friendly and nice person. I suffer from Sjogren Syndrome, dry eye and dry mouth, therefore I need fluids to eat my meals, this diner gives you an ice tea with far too much ice and less than half the glass is fluid, therefore, I needed three ice teas with my meal, the owner comes over to my table repeatedly tapping me on the shoulder asking do you want more ice tea in a angry tone, I always tip 30% but these waitresses like to go behind the counter and talk to each other and not provide attentive service, so I had to pause eating my meal until I receive an ice tea refill. The owners son is behind the counter drinking a glass bottles of beer and talks in a muffled tone. When the owner arrives he is always in a bad mode. Service is poor and attitudes leave a lot to be desired for a service business. read more

If i could give them 0 stars i would. First off i had called around 10 am and asked if they had soups. They listed about 6 soups. When i went it they man wasnt paying attention and when i asked him for soups to go he rudly told me that they dont sell soup before 11. For anyone who attends Willy P, I suppose everything deserves 5-stars when comparing to Wayne Hall. However, I do think Park Wayne is truly worthy. It's my favorite diner in Jersey, best food. Service is OK, although waiter Steve is always a fun catch (sarcastic douche... in a good way). I always get the Brooklyn Burger with sweet potato fries, and it always blows me away. My grandparents knew the old owners when it was "King George Diner", so we went all the time. I still go when I'm home, as it's very reliable diner food. The last time I was there I had the Monterrey Jack burger, which had the right amount of spice and was very filing. I remember always sitting in a booth and playing music out of their old school jukebox, and coming here after our 8th grade prom and feeling like rockstars...albeit, with our parents sitting in neighboring booths, spying on us. People in my high school would also come here to cut class...only to find our resource officer and disciplinarian waiting. Gotta change it up sometimes. read more

Ok. First time at this location. This brand is known for great salads, but I went with egg white garden omelette, hash browns, and grapefruit. First, I've never been to a diner that does not section the grapefruit, but no big deal as they gave me a knife. Next, hash browns were not browned! Plus they were a gooey starchy lump instead of nice and crisp. Egg white omelette was very good and fluffy though and they gave me salsa with it. Big plus. We got the one server who seemed to lack all forms of personality. Why bother trudging through the shift in such a bad mood? We even tried to have fun with her, but she wouldn't have it. This was my first ever visit to Park Wayne Diner, formerly the site of King George Diner. It was a Sunday at 5pm. I looked for the bar/counter area but did not spot it until the time when I left so I was given a table. I simply ordered the crab stuffed trout from Sheriff, my waiter. I received that plus all so much more. I was given lemon chicken soup, salad, the food I ordered, mashed potatoes, rice and mixed vegetables. I couldn't even get to the last three mentioned items. If that wasn't enough, the dinner came with pudding which I managed to slowly finish. I gazed upon other patron's plates as their meals were brought out and their dishes were overfilled as well. I enjoyed my meal while listening to pop music and watching basketball. Next time, I just might want to order something less filling. read more

No one noticed at all, 20 min later the waitress returns with the food and goes to put the plates down in my spilled ice tea. She whiped it up quick and disappeared never to be seen again. They adhere to the Diner/Golden Rule - the customer is always right, so no worries if you need to send something back into the kitchen for more spices or what have you. Desserts are almost all made on premises and are worth breaking your diet over them! Omg went in with my family for a quick bite and it was packed so we assumed, the food must be good WELL it was horrible! The poor waffle my son got was as brown as can be boardline STALE and the bacon was definitely from this morning and basically reheated! I got a Philly wrap that was so greasy I only ate a half and the fries were cold and soggy! The burger my husband got was super well done it loooked like hockey puck! The only reason I give it 3 stars is because my daughter likes the food here and some of the waiters are pleasant. There is one waiter who was very rude and yelled at one of the bus boys that he will lose his job because the bus boy was not thinking and moving fast enough. He was complaining about his job to customers. He was extremely rude to me while I was trying to decide with my husband what to eat. He came up to the table saying that he was not rushing and he's here all night and demanded that I stop looking at my husband and order....how does that make any sense?! You're not rushing us yet you want me to order and asking me not to look at my own husband? I'm trying to have a nice dinner with my family and he thinks it's okay to order me around like that. We spoke to the manager and they moved us to a new table with a very nice waitress. It was like night and day. It makes a difference when people are nice and respectful no matter where you work. Alot of people are wishing for jobs and this guy is ungrateful and rude. I hope they reconsider his position there. read more

All the staff have always gone above and beyond I've been coming here since I was a little girl and ever since the new owners took over it has been the best it's ever been. I went to this diner with a few friends last night. They all got their food in 10 minutes. However, my food came an HOUR later and it was the wrong thing. I had to send it back and wait even longer to my order, my friend asked the waiter politely where my food was and he answers, "they are making it now in the kitchen motherf*cker. YES, HE SAID THIS. I've never had such an awful experience and I am not a person who likes to complain about servers since my own mother and grandmother were waitresses for the majority of their life. I will never go to this diner again. When I told management what happened, they said the best they could do is give me 10% off like a dollar off really changed my life. My daughter had chicken quesadillas, they were decent, large portion, but the bottoms were greasy and a little soggy, she had to blot them with a napkin. My husband had the Philly cheesesteak and loved it. French fries were good, but they use some kind of bootleg ketchup that was a little sweet for our taste. We are new to the Wayne area and were trying out this diner for breakfast. It was the worst breakfast I've ever had - bar none. Everything was smattered in cheap, gummy cheese. I ordered the huevos rancheros and it was basically a retried bean wrap with gummy cheese and eggs plopped on top. There is absolutely no care put into the food at all My daughter's order came out cold. Probably because we waited for our food for 45 minutes. My son's order came out wrong and we had to send it back. The waitress was humorless and sullen. She never refilled our drinks, never checked back after our order.
