Correct me if I'm wrong but as of December 10, 2022 NYS law states that "Gift Cards And Gift Certificates Cannot Expire Within Nine Years, Will Not Decline In Value Due To Various Fees." Prior to December 10, 2022, (gift certificate purchased 04/22) gift certificates could not expire less than 5 years from issue date. It's not a ton of money ($35), BUT since they already have the $35 I'm feeling pretty cheated out of a service that's already been paid for. They were paid $35 and I got...nothing.

I've been coming to this salon over school breaks since 2020. It seems that June isn't managing the…read moresalon anymore, and the service has dipped. The basic mani and pedi I get on a weekly basis is still solid, hence the 3 stars, but the standard bells and whistles have definitely fallen flat based on my experience over the past month. I'm not sure why they bother putting on lotion, as they slap it on and rub it in for maybe a total of 10 seconds on both hands combined before wiping it off in a hurry - certainly before anyone's skin can actually absorb it. Last summer, I started adding on a chair massage at the dryer after my mani to pass the drying time, and Karen was always happy to pull up a massage chair. She doesn't work there anymore, and I'm now most recently met with irritation and impatience at the request. I would have risked my manicure and slid the chair over myself if I'd know it'd become such a burdensome ask. I go to the nail salon to relax, decompress, and engage in self-care -- not to confront snippy attitudes. I will not be returning to Nail on 5th. June, if you see this and have a recommendation elsewhere, I'd be most grateful! IG @sanaberriel

The owner was so sweet, and jumped right in to do my silk wrap while the girls worked on pedicures. The shop is small (4chairs) but run efficiently. The color options are fantastic, plus she does nail designs. They offer a few chunky glitter polishes, foil, tigers polishes, and powders. Best of all they've earned my trust. First of all, I walked in casually and I felt genuinely welcomed to walk in by the gentleman behind the register & the manicurist who did an excellent job for my pedicure & gel manicure. They treated me with genuine kindness and not like I was just another customer. I get this vibe all the time, especially with other Park Slope salons. I was also reassured that the equipment was properly sterilized in conversation (I didn't even have to ask). Seeing how a lot of salons looks great inside, it doesn't necessarily mean the tools are sanitized and Venus B Nails went above and beyond my expectations for their services & clean equipment. I will definitely be coming back as a regular. The lady who took care of me was Mary. I loved her! Also, I was given awesome advice about the neon yellow I had on when I walked in. I was told that for the neon yellow to stand out more it should've been on top of a white base. I didn't realize this and it's so true. I got the neon pedicure/manicure on Nails on Fifth & they didn't tell me this or suggested it. All this time I was left wondering why my nails didn't look quite right. Now that I know better thanks to Venus B Nails and I will be coming back to them for the perfect Neon yellow polish. This is the level of customer service that really captured me as a new customer and the reason why I will be coming back aside from the beautiful mani/pedi :) Don't let all the other negative reviews affect giving Venus B a chance. These people are clearly bitter & cheap by the context of their complaints. They do quality work!
