I had overheard the guy telling his coworkers how he always wins the monthly sales incentive. I'm assuming it's because he talks naive drivers into unnecessary services by using scare tactics like he did with me. When he showed me the antifreeze tester and tried to trick me into believing it showed my antifreeze had "degraded" , I pointed out that what he was showing me was the ball that tests the fluid's ability to prevent freezing, nothing to do with it's effectiveness as a coolant and that I'm sorry he might not win this months sales incentive prize. He quickly finished the job I came in for and had me on my way. Seriously people, use ChatGPT and YouTube and do research about basic car service like changing filters and spark plugs. You'd be amazed at the hundreds if not thousands of dollars you can save yourself. These guys at Take 5 and Jiffy Lube didn't exactly graduate top in their class from mechanic's school or else they'd be making big bucks running their own garage. And be aware...if you pull in and there's a car waiting just outside a bay know that you're going to be there at least an hour if not longer and Dallas summer heat is not the kind of weather you want to have your car idling in with the AC running.

They should update their Groupon deal by being clear on what customer will be responsible and paying at the store regardless. I came in to get a catless down pipe installed and they were not very forthcoming about the permit issues for the installation. As the experts you'd think they'd tell you about issues you would encounter. The explanation I was given is "most people who come here already know what the issues are". The worse part is, they removed the original converter and didn't even suggest putting it back on once I complained about the check engine light. Instead, they suggesting adding some sensor that they never even ordered. When I called back and asked about the original converter I was told they scrapped it. A converter in perfect condition, they supposedly scrapped it. A part that would cost about $1800 they "scrapped" it. Sounds like they sold it. I will NEVER bring my car to this place again. If you decide to go, I hope you're an expert because they won't explain anything to you. They assume most people already know. Also you might want to ask for your original parts back because they will "scrap" them afterwards.
