However, i will say they got the flavor close but there was still a gapin the orange flavor and cinnamon, the cake was a bit more sweet than expected. The text was good, spongy and moist. Previously had met friends there for a pot of delicious Moroccan mint tea, mini opera cakes, and more. The not-so-nice staff member (Thursday 6pm, 7/30/2026) had trouble figuring out what I was pointing to in the case ("Cassis!"). I tried to look inside the box to check the quality after I think she got the right one. She immediately put a sticker closing it. I asked her what's the name of this cake (thinking I was ordering it wrong) was and she said "?Strawberry??" & smirked. After I paid and stepped outside, I looked in the box and the cake is nicely uneven. Went in & aked for a different piece and she wouldn't let me. I said that it was "for a birthday!" She said no and then looked slightly outside. I think the young male owner was sitting outside - probably should've asked him first. Got a Pan Suisse & that was good. The top row of Middle Eastern lavash bread & honey, French baguette sandwiches looked great. I'd like to try more, but I'm not sure if I would go back. The worker (Thursday 6pm) seemed to cater to locals - guests & their visiting parent, same dialects. Sad.

Chocolate layer cake was similar. Prices are lower in comparison. When asking about the posted menu, one of the employees told us that some prices posted were wrong, that they're slightly higher now. But when I paid, the prices seemed to be correct, with the 4% credit card fee. So maybe will have to see when paying cash? The cheesecake had a really weird, nearly inedible, layer of hard caramel on the bottom - almost like plastic. The Oreo cheesecake was fine, but didn't have enough chocolate. The coffee was alright and the hot chocolate was probably the best pick. Maybe we just chose the wrong things, but we weren't very impressed!

I got the flan cheesecake instead and it was good though! I was skeptical but the two does work well together. I also got the berry napoleon and while the whipped cream is light, I prefer a custard and the layers to be crispier. I did get their butter cookies for the first time, and they were good. Parisi bakery still have the best ones in my opinion. I got the Italian cheesecake which I always do, and I think I like this refrigerated more. There doesn't seem to be a difference between cash and credit anymore.

I love Lety's Bakery & I'm glad it has been in Jackson Heights for a while & many years to come…read more The employees there are always very sweet & everything I've had there was great, some more than others of course (like the flan & rainbow cookies stand out more than other things to me). Everything I've tried so far has been fresh as well. The one important thing to note though is that the flan cheesecake is amazing (who even came up with that haha) & I do think the textures do mix well BUT only when eaten fresh. In short, do not take the flan cheesecake to go as it does not travel well at all, even if it's for a short distance. Simply enjoy it inside the cafe instead :).

I remember not liking whatever pastry I got back then so never came back ..but was in the mood for something sweet and didn't want to go too out of the way. I ordered a choc donut & apple fritter. When I got home I heated up the fritter for 8 seconds. It was the best apple fritter I think I've ever had! Some don't even have apples in it but this one had some apple chunks in the middle. So good! A couple days later I remembered I got the donut lol so warmed it up and had half - omg this was amazing too! Will def go back more often now!

I'm really disappointed by my experience this morning…read more I've lived in the neighborhood for over a decade, and my fiancé and I have been loyal customers for years. We often bring visiting family and friends here for breakfast and pastries, and we even pick up pastries to bring out to the island for Sunday dinners and holidays. We were also planning to order our wedding pastries from here later this year, which makes this even more upsetting. This morning, I arrived at 0654 and I waited outside in cold, muggy weather until the 0700 opening. There were no signs posted about holiday hours, and nothing online indicated a different opening time. A few minutes after 0700, I asked the man at the counter whether they were opening at 0700 or 0800, and he told me it would be 0800. I understood and was willing to come back later. I quickly ran to another store and was walking back home around 0710. As I walked by, I saw a woman run in and be served right away. The same employee who had just told me they weren't open was now helping her, boxing up pastries and sending her on her way. I went inside and asked if I could place an order as well, but I didn't get a clear response. At that point, I was so upset that I just grabbed a 2lb pre-wrapped plate of cookies and left. I completely understand having holiday hours and I was happy to come back at 0800. But being turned away, only to see someone else immediately helped moments later, felt unfair and disrespectful. It's also hard to ignore the possibility that bias may have played a role. As a queer-presenting person, being turned away while a more traditionally feminine-presenting customer was immediately welcomed and helped did not sit right with me. I truly hope that wasn't the case, but the experience left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome.
