Pari is a very lovely woman. It is apparent that she takes a lot of care when threading. I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for a decade now and I was looking for a new technician in SF area. Pari was very sweet but unfortunately I was disappointed with the shape of my eyebrows once she was through. They were not as arched as I had wished and at the same time, they were also thinner than what I like. It has taken me several months to grow them back and try to return to a shape I like. I called the place today, and made an appointment for 3:30-an appointment about 50 minutes after I called her. The threading took only about 10 minutes, and the place is right in her home! She was very sweet and was able to thread my brows and the hairs around the sides of my forehead. I was a little worried at first, since it was my first time threading, but on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most painful, it was a 1 for me, if not less. After, she moisturized my skin, and I filled my brows in with my favorite NYX brow pencil, and I just couldn't stop staring at my eyebrows all day! I was coming here for few times because she really is a good threader compared to the ones that are located inside the mall. It can be downside that you have to set up an appointment and that she does her business at home. Yet her House is in a safe neighborhood. I've gone to Ziba at Serramonte Center multiple times, and it's been hit or miss: sometimes I'll get a great job done, but other times my brows wouldn't be nice at all, and it'd just be a waste of time and money. I came here for the first time with a friend who recommended her. Rana runs a home studio, so please be aware of that. She does keep her eyebrow space clean and tidy, and she always washes her hands. She asks you what you like, and stops in the middle to make sure everything is okay. I got a ton of compliments on my brows the first time I went to her. I think Pari might be the best kept secret for eyebrow threading! Luckily I found her on yelp! Location: Pari does work at home. Take off your shoes! And she works in what looks like her children's bedroom. The no frill workspace is made up with a reserved parking spot available for her clients. (How rare is THAT??) I wish I'd call and asked before but it's the #267 parking spot. I might be easy to get lost in the apartment complexes the first time around but it wasn't too difficult. Wait: It IS appointment only so there was no wait at all, which is definitely a breath of fresh air compare to Rani's Threading experience. I called half an hour advance to asked if she's available and volia~ Service: Pari definitely takes her time with you. Going back to the same area again and again if she feel the need to. The first thing she said was "Let me go wash my hands." which already put me at ease. It's nice to know she's not touching my face with any germs. The most impressive thing was that she did not tweeze my eyebrows afterwards. And yet there's not a stray hair in sight. Apparently you don't need to tweeze the stray hairs if you have not. Between waxing and threading, I have learned through the years that threading is my preference. It can be a painful process ... so threading is not recommended for the faint of heart or for the super sensitive skinned. When I lived in San Jose my eyebrows would get touched only by the owner of JP Beauty Salon (http://www.yelp.com/biz/j-p-beauty-salon-san-jose?osq=Eyebrow+Threading), but living in the SF area I knew I had to find a place to religiously get my eyebrows done. ESPECIALLY because the lady at the Stonestown Eyebrow shop done $%#$'ed up my eyebrows previously (I was obviously desperate). I turned to trusty YELP to find a spot just for that, and luckily found Pari (also goes by Rana) Eyebrow Threading. I saw that her price for eyebrows were $10 (CASH ONLY) and thought that was pretty reasonable. So I called her and made a same day appointment. Like other yelpers mentioned, she lives up the hill from Geneva/ Cow Palace in a gated community. You can call her to find out what the code is to enter. Her street is the first street to your right as you enter the compound. There are a few parking spaces (without numbers above them) but when those are full, feel free to go up a little bit more onto Oak Street (I believe) and theres more spots there. Onto the service: Pari works literally from her home. There are no signs from the outside of her house, you just have to make sure you're at #2406 and ring the doorbell. This time, her (daughter?) opened the door for me and led me to a room. The room was literally a bedroom with a mirror and a chair, so if you're weird about this kind of thing, then I don't recommend coming here. The moment I met Pari I knew I could trust her, because her brows were on FLEEK. And if her brows on fleek, mine are about to be too! I explained to her my concerns from when that bizzznatch at Stones messed it up and how I wanted it not to be too thin and give it a higher arch. She explained to me her concerns and how she would try her best and how it would be a process to regrow it to how I want them to be. Pari is seriously a pari when it comes to making gals feel good about their brows (Pari translates to "fairy" in English for all my non-Hindi Yelpers)! I found her on Yelp while I was home for spring break and cannot sing enough praises about her :) I got some typical Indian chewbacca baby eyebrows thanks to my dad's side of the family and have gotten them threaded since I was 13. Over the years, I've gone to individual women who -- like Pari-- run the business from their home, to Zibas, Hollywood Eyebrow, and the ever popular (but ridiculously bad) Khoobsurat Beauty in the San Jose area. Unfortunately, anytime I found someone I liked, they either moved or for some reason just started to be lame. As a result, having multiple women work on my brows has led to different shapes and just overall messing up over the years. After all these bad experiences where someone totally messed up my shape, I was a bit apprehensive about Pari. I walked into her place after calling ahead to make an appointment and let her deal with my three months worth of ungroomed brow. She is actually amazing. All these reviews are not fake. She's so meticulous and takes her time talking to you about what you want your brows to look like. I was growing mine out to get back to a more natural and thick shape, and she gave me a new groomed set that looks INCREDIBLE (with a little bit of eyebrow pencil for the spots still growing in). As an Indian girl, I've been to plenty of places where the woman just does whatever and although it might look decent it's not what you asked for. I'm pretty old-fashioned but I'm pretty sure that if I'm paying you money to do something, you should do what I ask. Sorry not sorry. Pari is so knowledgeable and isn't pushy at all about her opinion. She also did one eyebrow for me not touching my arch at all to show me what she thought would look best and let me decide what I wanted. Also quick plus for her: she speaks perfect English. Pari is a nice and sweet lady. But this is a business so I will be straight. I've been coming to Pari for the last year and her work was fine. Price is average. But yesterday was too much. She took me in when I was 10 mins late to my appointment. My brows turned out nice as usual. But the next day when I woke up I notice there were numerous cuts around my brows. It looked so bad, like I had acne (picture attached). Not sure how long it'll take to heal... But I'm definitely disappointed and won't be going back.
