While at any dealer there is always a hint of being jerked around this was primarily absent in my experience with Annie in the service department. Service was done effectively, quickly and without much difference in price from what local mechanics were quoting me. The sales process here was ok, but I have had nothing but issues with the Finance Department / General Management. Buyer beware! My ongoing issue: I purchased a service contract when I purchased my car. I tried to use it about a year later and was told that the contract was actually cancelled, by the dealership, on the very same day it was signed/paid for. Nobody seems to know why. I elected to take a refund instead of re-instating the contract, as I no longer trusted the finance department (this was not the first issue). I have been working with them for 4 months now to try to get my refund. I have been told 3 separate times that the money has been sent over to my loan company, but it hasn't. I have repeatedly asked for proof (tracking #, photo of the check, etc.). Last Friday I was sent a photo of "my" check, but it was someone else's check! Every day that goes by, I am paying interest (for over a year) on a service that I was never provided. And apparently I can't get the interest refunded either, so this is very urgent in my eyes. The back office at Hyundai Paramus is so incompetent that not only have they cancelled my contract, they can't even manage to get the check sent out, or to get the correct check. I have left several messages for the General Manager and the Office Manager. Neither has the decency to return my call. The only person who will speak to me is the Finance Manager, who is supposedly working with both of them on this, but the fact that he cannot seem to get through to them the urgency makes me wonder if there is really some scam going on here. As most of the older reviews show this dealership is horribly run. Here is my story... I see a car online that looks nice. I call to make sure the car is there ask a few question and set up a time to look at the car. I show up the next day and was told to ask for Phil. When I get there Phil is busy and they send me to Bruce. That was alright no big deal until I met Bruce. So Bruce shows me the car. I ask a few questions about it that he doesn't know the answers to. (Still understandable but off to a bad start). I test drive the car and Bruce gets us lost. Again still not too bad just got to drive the car a little longer. Now we are back at the dealership looking around at the car and I am asking more question before we start negotiate. I pop the trunk to find a suit roller blades and a bunch of bags. I think weird but whatever. Now I am asking about the warrantee and the car fax. The car had been in a accident before as shown by the car fax. I ask Bruce if the bumper was replaced by oem parts or aftermarket. His response was I'm not sure no one has ever asked. We'll I did, can you ask your manager. Bruce says " he won't know, no one has ever asked that question in my 8 years being a sales person". Now I'm starting to hate Bruce but I really want the car so I stayed. We go inside and I discuss an issue I herd with the brakes and with the paint. Bruce says both can be addressed before the sale bc they are covered under warrantee so we start negations. I say a number he Brings it to his mgmt and come back with another number. I say that's over priced when compared to Kelly blue book and Edmonds true value. Bruce then responds with attitude that kbb and Edmonds don't sell cars we do. Okay now Bruce is acting like an asshole. We go back and forth some more and Bruce explains bc the car has aftermarket upgrades that's why the car costs more. NO BRUCE any aftermarket parts like exhaust or intake will lower a value not raise it. I then ask to speak to his mgmt. Here I meet Eric. Who was better than Bruce but not by much. He works with me a little and we lower the price some but still above kbb and Edmonds. So I leave the dealership An hr later I call looking to talk to Bruce or Eric. Leave a voicemail on both lines with no response for over 2 more hours. Finally Eric calls me back and says we can't negotiate any more my boss isn't here. (Isn't Eric a manager?). Okay call me tomorrow. Now tomorrow comes and Bruce calls me. Not with a new price but more attitude. He says we'll if we sell you the car at that price we won't fix the brakes nor look at the paint. I response isn't that covered under warrantee? He response yes. So why won't it be looked at? He says it just won't. Now I say can I talk to your manager Phil who I was originally supposed to work with. He says no I can't he isn't around. I now am pissed and explain to Bruce he is THE WORST SALESMEN I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH. His response is now your just mad bc we won't sell you the car. No Bruce I'm mad bc your an asshole. I call back the next day again looking for Phil. Leave him a a voice mail. Leave him a message with the secretary and still nothing. 2 days later I get a call thinking it would be Phil but no it's a customer representing asking if I had a good experience at Hyundai. I explain my story and ask to speak to Phil. Still Phil isn't around... All in all I will never go back to this dealership and am placing a complaint with Hyundai corporate about the horrible experience that I have encountered. read more

I regret for not reading these reviews before going into the dealership. Buyers BE AWARE, THESE REVIEWS ARE 100% ACCURATE. I made an appointment through online and received confirmation text message to come in the next day at 5:45pm and look for Rocco. And then on the day of the appointment, I received another text to come in at the same time and look for Eric. This didn't really bother me for I didn't mind who I needed to speak with to purchasing the vehicle. I came in, and looked for Eric, and he was nowhere to be found. As I was looking around, one of the salesman, Iggie, came to me and told me he would take care of me. Then, few moments later, another salesman, Steve, took us out, and Iggie got angry. This already showed me that these salesman won't care about each other as long as they get the money. But, Steve already was working with some other customer, so therefore, he asked me to wait like 10 minutes. We waited for 30 minutes and he still was with a customer. So, we told him we will just work with Iggie, and he tells me he is almost done, and gave me a key to test drive the vehicle. So why not drive around a little to check it out? It was a bit odd that I had to test drive a new car alone, without the salesman next to me... but, I did anyways. I came back, parked where it was, and waited 10 more minutes until Steve was done with his prior customer. By then, the time was 7:45pm. What was point of me making an appointment if I needed to wait 2 hours? Well, whatever. We sat down and talked and told him I wanted to finance, and everything went smoothly. Then, he went back to speak with "Phil" and they started working with financing and everything. Keep in mind that they close at 9pm. The financing guy finally comes out around like 8:55pm and tells me that finance has been approved and I just need to come back tomorrow to talk about the finance and finalize everything. They told me to take the car today for I put down a deposit and finance has been approved. So happily, I took the car home, and the night was a success.... Until the next day. Things went absurd the next day. I was appointed to come in again at 6pm. I came in little earlier, like 5:45pm and waited. They took care of me at 7pm; Yes, there is no point whatsoever to make an appointment here because they will make you wait at least an extra hour. I get into the finance office and the hell broke down. They said that my finance request has been declined, therefore, they needed to look "outside the box" and find another financial company. On top of that, I was signed to take 2016 Sonata, but in order to finance with this "new company," I need to downgrade to 2016 Elantra. Are you kidding me here? What the heck kind of finance company will let you take this vehicle, but not the other one? I've been working at an insurance company for over 5 years now and I heck of a know how financing company works. They probably just wanted to sell an Elantra for some reason (Because salesman kept recommending me Elantra over and over, but I was set on Sonata). So I couldn't trust them anymore and cancelled everything. Now... the deposit. I told Steve that I need the deposit back, and he said he is "busy" and therefore, he told me to come back tomorrow for it. Is this guy joking me right now? He was talking with other salesman and fooling around outside, but, now he's busy? At that moment, I had no intention whatsoever to speak to him. So I asked for the manager. I met with the manager named "Phil," and OH MY GOD, YOU CALL YOURSELF A MANAGER? At first, he tells me he will return it back to my credit card within 4 to 5 minutes. So I wait there for 10 minutes and it did not come back. So I ask him again, it did not come back, and he says "when did I say 4 to 5 minutes? It takes about a week to process." ........So you guys take the money instantly, but you take at least a week to give it back? How logical, huh? So I continued asking him to give back my deposit and he dare to say, "What is your problem? I don't want to speak to you anymore, leave." Wow, just wow. Did I hear that right? So I take out the contract and tried finding regarding the return policy, and they don't have it on it.. hahahaha. BUYERS, THEY DON'T HAVE THEIR RETURN POLICY ON THE CONTRACT. So I told them I will just call the cops. Phil says go ahead. So I leave the building to cool down a bit, and take out my phone to call the cops, and then another manager named, Joe, comes out to talk to me. He explained to me the return policy and all, and he seemed a bit more professional than the other guy named Phil... until the end of convo. He told me to come back on Monday, and told me to look for him and he will refund it to my credit card right in front of me. I asked him to put that in writing and he said he needed to get back to work for he has "a lot in his hands." ...cool. So I will be going back there this upcoming Monday, 4/18/16, and see if this guy keeps his word. We will see how this goes. read more

He told me to fix my heat I need to replace my heater box. After they replaced my heater box (had my car for 5 days) they told me that my Cars AC isn't working I informed them that has has been working in my car 100% and they must have done something wrong they told me I broke I need to fix it. 6 months later and 2000 worth of repairs on this same issue and it's still not working and they refuse to warranty there work. Alex the service tech is extremely unprofessional and has threatened me and wanted called me a p.o.s and a lier to my face and the management team is no help s they lie to me and side with alex. Smiling and laughing at me. They told me my car wud be ready by Friday 2 pm it is now Sunday and they say the car might not be ready until TUESDAY! This is outrageous and insane if I can rate this place I'll give them 0 stars they suck the way they speak to customers and act towards them is absurd I have video recording of all their bad language and video of their bad attitudes I recorded with my gs5. read more

Spoke to ken several times on phone to confirm the car I was interested in was on the dealer lot. Made appointment with ken. When i arrived after an hour drive no one there seemed to know who Ken was. Furthermore the car was on a lot 45 minutes away. The salesman was unprofessional and quite honestly unknowledgeable. When I asked about the 0.0% financing he looked at me like I had 5 heads and had to ask sales manager about that...even though it had been advertised on TV all month....stay far far away!!!!!! We walked out in disgust after a ridiculously low trade in offer on my 5 yr old BMW at least 40% under KBB trade in value, even the salesman was surprised. Worst car buying experience ever!! My experience has been Horrendous to say the least. never give these guys business again. I bought a used car from them in lieu of my car. The buying experience was okay, they had to do a few things after I picked up the car but have not done half of them. I tried calling the salesperson and the sales manager multiple times but they do not want to call back, I even stopped by and they said they will take car of the stuff but have not done so. once I drove the car a 100 miles, problems started coming up and they didnt even want to touch the car then citing a myriad of brake problems. They said they had changed the brakes and I shouldnt have any problems. My brakes started making noise within a week and I took it to Midas, and now I need to change calipers, pads and rotors aroudn 800$.. Paramus Hyundai does not want to back their car and are making all sorts of excuses not to fix problems with the car. I am looking to go to NJ Consumer Affairs for mediation. STAY AWAY from them... Walked in, wanted to get a price because I knew EXACTLY what I wanted. The salesman was condescending and kept interrupting me. He wanted me to walk to the cars to "put my hands " and to learn about the different option packages. I told him that I knew what I wanted and have already test drove it. He continued to insist that I should go look at the cars. I told him that he wasn't listening to me and he said he was. He then heard me loud and clear when I said, "buh bye". I think he didn't believe that a woman could possibly know what she wants . I'm surprised he didn't ask to speak with my husband- he would have been surprised or horrified when my wife showed up. I didn't purchase my car from here, so this review is in regards to their SERVICE DEPARTMENT: I get my oil change regularly from here and right before my latest oil change was due, my passenger side low beam went out. I figured it was just a bad bulb and I told them to replace it while I got my oil changed. When I went to pickup my car, they told me they had bad news. Apparently, the bulb wasn't the issue but it was the harness that powered the bulb that went out. They then told me that the part I needed wasn't sold individually, so I had to buy the whole headlight interior unit which would cost around $600. Suspicious, I told them to hold off on that and I went home. A couple of days later, I took off the bumper myself and replaced the bulb to see if it really wasn't just that. The light worked fine. I was livid and to give them the benefit of the doubt, I held off on writing this review, just in case the harness was really bad and the light would go out in a couple of days. Well, it's been over 2 weeks and the light is still working fine. Either they are scamming customers who seem like they don't know anything or they have really bad techs. Both are reasons to stay away from this service department! I'm going to be contacting Hyundai about this incident as well. I'm scared to take the car to this dealership. Who knows how incapable the techs are or to what lengths they would go to scam or even sabotage parts to make money. read more

I had an appointment scheduled online for November 23, 2021. When I arrived I was told that I was not on their schedule despite having a confirmation email. Needing an oil change, I asked for the next available appointment which I was told was being made for today, December 9, 2021. When I called to confirm today because I had not received an appointment reminder I was told that I was not on their schedule. The next available appointment is not until March 2022 - for an oil change! I now have to drive all the way to Long Island for an oil change which is incredibly ridiculous that no one could squeeze me in for a simple oil change - especially since I was willing to wait. I'm not sure how to ever trust that you all will have my future appointments actually on your schedule. The customer service was nice, but unhelpful and unwilling to find solutions even after I explained that this was now the second time this had happened. The woman on 11/23 tried to make it my fault because I had previously canceled one appointment back in October that I was unable to make due to work. Today, the woman I spoke to was more concerned with who supposedly booked the appointment then trying to find a solution for me. read more

I went to service complaining about a noise with the wheels when going between 30 and 60 miles per hour. They said they would do a wheel rotation while conducting the test. They came back and said it was a wheel bearing. After replacing it, the noise was still there. Then they said it was the wheel hub. After replacing that, the noise was still there. Two weeks and two repairs later, the noise hasn't changed and my insurance was billed for the "repairs". Do not get you're car serviced here. read more

After putting a hefty down payment on my new leased car i drove away that day with the car.... One month later.. I get a bill in the mail for a $1,000 for my old lease. I went straight to Hyundai and not a single soul knew what they were talking about. This is where i started to talk to a "so called manager" named PHIL. HE WAS BY FAR THE WORST PERSON TO EVER DEAL WITH. Talk about someone who made up random things because he couldn't answer my questions. So you mean to tell me I am putting twice as much down for a SECOND lease with you guys than my first ??!?!?! HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE. I do not know and no body there did either. And not to remind you the amount of times me and my mom went there and raised hell and called numerous times but no body is to be found. Nothing got solved and I have been getting things from Corporate saying I still have my old lease and still owe $1000.... I went to find out information regarding purchasing a new Hyundai Sonata. They were unable to give me a interest rate without a deposit, so I asked if I would receive my deposit if I were to decline the loan. They said YES. I came back after receiving a callback and they offered me a ridiculously high rate, knowing that I had already stated I did not want to commit without knowing the rate. I declined the loan and was threatened and yelled at by the finance manager. He then said he was unable to return my deposit because he" worked too hard" and shooed me and my family out of his office. He said, "get THESE ppl out of my office" and said he will make it so that I "will not be able to receive a car loan anywhere", while typing furiously into the comment box in my loan application. I was made to wait several hours and never received my deposit back and told it would take at least 10 days. I will not be bullied into accepting a loan that I can not afford. Needless to say I left the dealership in tears, empty handed. I feel like we were treated this way especially because we were women and Asian. Worst experience ever in a car dealership. I do not recommend. Might I add we did not say anything disrespectful nor raise our voice at all. We were treated like we weren't even human. I was not aware that finance managers were allowed to keep someone's deposit because of their "hard work and time". But I as a consumer believe my time is just as valuable. And I also was unaware that I being the one that will be responsible for making the payments, absolutely had to agree to any terms that the finance manager offered. Ridiculous. read more

Didn't buy a car here and happy I didn't. Tried to schedule a simple service appointment for a RECALL that Hyundai put out. Got hung up on 3 times, then transferred to a voicemail 2 times. Then I was told that there are plenty of spots for the day I wanted to bring the car in and transferred to a voicemail again. When I finally reached a person who was willing to say something more than "Please Hold" that person told me there's nothing available for that day or for the next week and a half. I don't know how their Sales Department is but their Service Department is absolutely horrible. Too many other dealerships in the area to waste your time here. read more

Woke up one morning and my pre-owned, Hyundai Elantra '13 has no audio..no radio, gps, nada. After searching online, I gave up and with greatest apprehension took it to a Hyundai dealer knowing I was about to be ripped off. Rep in Service Center, James explains $150 diagnostic which would be applied towards repair which would probably be lower. Low and behold, they repaired the issue (no explanation of what caused it), but guess what?!! It cost EXACTLY $150 for the repair. Ughhhh. My mechanic tells me the part cost of all $15. This was a couple of months back. Yesterday, I received a notice that my car had a recall. Back at the dealership for the recall update.. asking questions bc I'm having issues where the car just switches off when I hard brake. My daughter had a very unpleasant visit this week. She went in for electrical issues. My understanding is before they even ran diagnostis, she was on the hook for $600. After diagnostic it was $2700 worth of work she needed. Tires, battery, new alternator, new trans fluid, brakes, all needed to be replaced or fixed. She declined on most of it, and thats when the attitude of the women went to rude. What happened to customer service.. She went to a mechanic that said the battery and alternator were fine, as did another mechanic. It was loose cables to the battery. He was ready to do the work for $489 and the dealer was charging her $900 for just the alternator. We won"t go on about the tires, you can see where she was headed. Since she declined having battery and alternator replaced, they charged for the diagnostic test, which in my mind is flawed. What ever happened to good customer service, working with the customer to get everything right. It doesn't happen at this dealer. read more

This review is strictly for the unprofessional sales manager or whatever his title is...Phil. My husband and I have a complicated situation with our current car that we are trying to trade in. Nothing that can't be fixed but we decided to see what Hyundai would tell us. We came here prior (about 3 to 4 weeks ago) and worked with Jair and Mark, both who are no longer working here. They were amazing. As complicated as our situation is they really worked with us. Their patience and hard work wasn't unnoticed. They treated us so well that my husband and I spoke so highly of them and the dealership for working with us the way they did. Unfortunately we did not take the offer because my husband and I were in the process of closing on our house (and because we couldn't let recent credit reports interrupt our credit) so we told them we would be back. At that time we didn't know it would affect our credit or the closure of the house. So we had to make the best decision at that time and our house obviously came first. So we went last evening after closing on our house now. I scheduled my meeting with Brittany, who was very polite and professional. Our appointment was at 7:30pm (keep in mind they close at 9). We met with Rich who was also very professional. He really appeared genuine in working with us to see if something could be done. My husband and I really liked Rich. However, Phil came into the picture when it was time to talk numbers.... He pretty much shut us down in the most unprofessional way you could think of. He didn't even bother to give us any offers. When rich approached him he walked out the dealership in the middle of everything to dance and talk with two other male colleagues of his. How unprofessional could you be? You were still on the clock, you were still getting paid to be there, it was not 9:00pm yet. I too have a job, Phil. We also have our family to take care off after our shifts are completed. We understand what it is to be almost done with your shift after working long hours and then attend to a client. However that does not give you or anyone the right to treat us or anyone like filth. If it was that bad of a night for you, the professional thing to do was to tell us to come back at another time and we would have been okay with that. But no, you walked out and coincidently walked right back inside when we were exiting and my husband asked for your name. Why go inside now Phil? Note that Phil stayed outside until my husband and I left the dealership. The second we drove out of the dealership, Phil was nowhere to be found. We will be contacting this dealer to speak with someone above Phil because this treatment was unacceptable. We also make further complaints to the BBB, not because of the dealership as a whole, but because of Phil, who is a representation of your company. We do not tolerate unprofessionalism and being treated the way we were last night. read more

Brough my car for a service and they recorded an incorrect mileage at 35,5K miles, 2K miles over the actual mileage. Two days brought my car for inspection and the actual milage of 33,5K was reported. At this point it looks like the odometer was rolled back by 2K miles. When I noticed the mistake and came in to resolve the issue I was told it's not a big deal. It is. Unfortunately I know from personal experience that discrepancies in mileage will affect your car value dramatically. When I explain that to representative, who turned out to be the service manager named Vivian, I was told than the information is only gathered for internal use and is not share with carfax. Incorrect again, since I received an email from them and that's when I noticed the mistake. I was told to bring my car for another service and they will record the correct mileage. However, that won't solve an issue since the wrong information was already reported to a car fax. When I asked what if I don't want to bring my car to the location again, I was told then we can't help you. My concern was completely disregarded and I was talked over the entire time I tried to voice my concern. What I took from this experience is that this dealership is not responsible for their mistakes and will not do anything to solve the issue they created. In addition to this issue, when I bought my car at Paramus of Hyundai, I was given a voucher for three free oil changes and 2 tire rotations. When I tried using the voucher, the dealership would not honor the deal they made with me. I also tried reaching out to manager, but every time I call MR. Curcio is not around and no one knows when he'll be back. Tried to get info on a new car but the "internet coordinator" would not give me answers. I told him my budget and wanted to know if it was realistic based on what I was looking for. He told me they could only talk numbers in person. I told him the dealership was far and I wanted to first know an approximate cost before I went there. Still wouldn't tell me. I asked for a manager and he said the manager doesn't get on the phone with people. After debating this for awhile I hung up and called back, asking receptionist for manager and specifically said not to give my call to anyone else. After a few minutes the same person got on the phone and again told me a manager wouldn't speak to me on the phone. He was so condescending and told me he wished me well. When you lease a brand new car you expect peace of mind, so Back in April 2015 I leased a Hyundai Sonata(same year), everything was great, but after a few months I received calls from this dealer asking to take the car back for 2 recalls. The only problem is the service will take 8 hours and they do not offer a car to take you back home, unless you live up to 5 miles from the dealer in Paramus, but since I live in Lyndhurst, I would have to rent a car or pay for a cab service. WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT IT IS NOT MY FAULT. I did not leased a old car. I leased a 2015 car. Shame on you Hyundai. The managers never answer the phone and whoever answers the phone can not promise any arrangement, because that is up to the manager. Awful! Find another dealership. This place pulled last minute price change. Wanted to charge me $200 for etching which they listed as "optional" on the sales sheet. Plus they wanted to charge a dealer prep fee for a CPO. No other dealers in the area charge this type of fee. I was stuck since since some person tboned my car and needed another vehicle urgently.
