I also decided to…read moregive it a try because our usual spot, Home Run Dog Park in Lakewood, is currently closed for maintenance. The dog park is located toward the corner end of the park near the end of the parking lot and is split into two sections, one for small dogs and one for larger dogs. There is not too much to boast about, but they do provide a water fountain for dogs and doggy bags for cleanup, which is nice. The area itself is fairly small, with only one bench and one tree that provides little to no shade. I do like that it has grass, but even though it is still a new dog park, there are already patches where the soil is showing through. Overall, it is a decent spot for a quick visit or short play session, but I personally would not choose it for a longer stay with my dog. We will definitely be returning to Home Run Dog Park once it reopens.

There's a lot of sidewalk & other concrete areas for that. Then we noticed that the splash pad was on... I didn't even know that there was one at this park. Lol. It's kiddie size, but on a hot July day, kids don't care! While there is definitely room for improvement and maintenance could be better, this is still a good place to let off some steam. The adults at the skate park were very patient & helpful with my 9-year-old on her skateboard. The bowl was on the tough side for her, a beginner. Thanks crew! Plenty of free parking lot and on the nearby streets.

It would be nice if a portable pickleball net was kept here like other parks, but it seems priority is for tennis here (amounting to around 8 tennis courts total here). Needless to say, I like the maintenance at the park here. There were also gated courts for concrete soccer, which was interesting. Lots of gnats flying around the area, but could be due to local weather. I've been here before and I was driving down the street and I saw it and I decided to stop in for a spin at first I thought I was alone but then a couple of people creeped out out of the corners. I was a young boy in his father sitting on a bench and the other was a young high school kid. There are a lot of quarter pipe ramps with varying degrees of steepness I tried a few of them, but some are too steep for me. The little boy was able to do them, though I was able to do my nose stall on a mini latch. I rode the bowl, but since I don't drop in, I don't get much speed. It's a fine challenging park. I'll be back if I'm in the neighborhood I'm sure.

The person on the phone clearly told me I could skate from 5-6 PM with no issues. After spending over an hour driving and paying for gas, I arrived only to be told that I couldn't join the session without a coach. So not only was my time wasted, but I left completely frustrated. If the staff gave accurate information, this whole situation could've been avoided. Definitely not coming back after this.

After spending over $1k at their shop, I went on the ice to do one loop around the rink to check if the new skates fit properly. Other LA King locations like Pickwick Ice the shop has adjusted my skates and let me go on the ice to try it out. Same with Great Park Ice. Here the manager yelled over to me saying I can't get on the ice and have to pay $20 to do one loop and see if the skates fit. I explained to her I just spent over $1k at their shop and am just trying the skates out. She said she didn't care, said she wanted $20 for one loop so I left. Distasteful! Initially I was thinking I'd return to the rink for the sake of old times, but after she was so disrespectful I have no desire to return. As the expression goes, she cut her nose to spite her face.

When buying something advertised as new, you expect exactly that. We're disappointed and feel misled. Would strongly recommend inspecting any bike thoroughly before leaving the store. We won't be returning. Not to mention the amount was $3,000 yet zero customer service.
