They had been asking me for a while and I was always hesitant since I would only see teens and older kids here months prior. Recently I had seen alot of youngsters (ages 6 and up) and I decided to allow my kids to join. Besides the older kids making comments like "move kid" and "watch out!", my kids were able to experience what it's like to be in a skate park. They now understand the concept of 'once your out the bowl, move so the next person can have their turn' or 'don't just stand around'. Lol My kids would fall alot the first day and less on the second day. It was nice to see that the other kids would stop and hand them their board if it rolled away, or ask if they were ok. My son did get stuck in one of the deep bowls, but some Guy helped him out. I felt over all safe my kids being in there even though as a mom you never feel safe when their in danger of falling and braking a bone. After 3 days of taking my kids, I noticed some of the older kids that they've seen previous days acknowledge my kids with a "sup" and head nod. Its nice to see respectful older kids willing to accept and help out young newbies. The skateboarders seem to have the rules set, as in- they make lines and take turns. Since the place is usually very packed. Yesterday, I did however, not like that a child kept picking on my son. This child said "hey, you can't be playing in the bowl" as he sat in the middle of the bowl with his friend on a rail holding their scooters. As my son and others were riding around them. My son said he replied with "hey I'm only doing the same thing your doing." After a while a group of same age kids came in the bowl trying to take it over. But they only sat in the middle of the bowl blocking any traffic from using this bowl at all. Eventually, the skaters asked them to move and they did. One other thing I do not like is that there is usually a group of kids sitting at a bench inside the skate area (right on the main entrance to the left). I've gotten whistling from them and pick up comments too. Very disrespectful and rude. As the wind blows, I suddenly get the smell of weed at times. I wish that a park employee or even security would pass by and keep order, just to keep it a drug free zone, as the rules do state this on the gate. Over all, I do recommend this skate park, the layout is very nice. Although I don't skate my self, I do see lots of people having lots of options on tricks they can do.

Date: May 28, 2024…read more I'm so glad I stumbled on this gem of a park!! It's so pretty and seems newly renovated. It's very clean and the kids love it! There's two playgrounds and some little things in between. My toddler loves climbing the stairs to get through the tunnel and slide down the big tube slide! I love that it's fully covered so my younger one isn't afraid of going down it too because he can't slip off! The restrooms are also very clean and plentiful. They sit right next to the exercise machines. They also have a parking lot next to the tennis courts but plenty of parking all around on the streets as well! I've seen the wading pool but never got to check it out when it's open but it's pretty big! Hope we get to check it out next year but it's always so much cooler in the South Bay. They have swings and ones where an adult can sit on the end while the child sits in front of them and my babies love it!! So much easier and more fun than just pushing them behind. And this way you can see their full reactions as they swing! Woowoo!! As you can tell, I'm a big fan of this park! Always a hit with the boys and love that it's so fresh and clean! Oh also plenty of benches around! And the ice cream truck is always there!

They have a amazing fan that starts entertaining at 6 PM until the fireworks show starts. They have multiple food trucks with great food to experience and plenty of activities for the kids. There's two jumpers and you can play whatever sports you love in the grassy area. They also have a hill, and if you have a box, you can slide down it to your hearts joy.

The high use of profanity, marijuana, and just some reckless behaviors changed everything for me about this park. A group of kids actually had a pistol out in the open, I don't know if it was real or not, but at this point it wasn't about to the activities one can enjoy but more like a safety concern now. Had it not been for the people, this park would of received at least 4 stars from me. I'm not into playing with the safety of my son, or my loved ones life. You won't find me here again.

Ah, life was so simple then. And it's been decades since I've been back, and my, how it's all come full circle: came through to celebrate one of my cousin's kids' birthdays. It is almost exactly as I remember it, but with upgrades. There are more picnic areas now, the playground is up to date, most everything is maintained so clean! It was kinda cool guiding the kids to kite flying and watching them play games during the party. For a few moments there, I was back to my pre-teen self again. I was told they have festivals here once in a while, so I really should keep up with their scheduled events! I loved it then, I still love it now. Glad it's still around and still maintained so well.

This North Redondo Beach park has no sign with the park name that I could find…read more I always drive past it on my way to T J Maxx on Hawthorne.....see my review of the store for my secret short cut! haha Anyways.....I was out today in this crazy heat reviewing parks. It felt like about 90 at the beach, it's hot. But the park looked inviting with its beautiful shade trees. It's about an acre and a half, small, and has nothing but trees and grass, benches, a kids' playground, and restrooms. I like the old streetlamps, must be pretty at night. The kiddie play area has the oddest surface I've seen. It's squishy, like a thick sponge. I was unprepared when I stepped on it to take a photo and almost lost my balance. Seems like it would be a nice soft spot for a kid to fall. My pic of the sign tells more about it. This park is narrow, and runs for a block, through a residential 'hood. It's a nice cut-through for people heading to the plaza around Starbucks on 190th. And there were people enjoying the park today, even in the heat. A red-faced little boy was trying to reach the drinking fountain while his dad laid under a tree in the shade...... The posted sign got my attention, the sign that lists all the "don'ts" for the park: No dogs (true in every Redondo Beach park except the dog park). No bicycles. No ball playing. No skateboarding. No roller skates or roller blades. That's a lot of restrictions! If you come here, plan on just walking through and admiring the trees..... 10 photos are posted.

So this little park is tucked away in North Redondo. If you are riding your bike you can pick it up…read morenear the new North Redondo Bikeway. It's not a bad park. But unlike Valley Park or Veterans Park, for example, it's not a place to make a day of it. There's trees, grass, little benches, you can have a picnic there -maybe a reststop while you are out on a walk or a bike ride. But there's no barbecue pits and no open fires allowed. There's a little area with kid's things like a slide. And when I was there on a sunday afternoon there was a building that appeared to have restrooms but they were all locked up. It's got lots a shade, so like I said earlier, this isn't a bad place to have a picnic, just no barbecues or fires.
