When we finally got possession we noticed someone had selectively taken a few of our plants. The only people who had access were the agent who removed the Sign from our yard and the cleaning crew they hired. I contacted both to get our plants back and neither people are taking responsibility. Although we didn't have permission to leave them, you didn't have permission to take them either. Call us and have us pick them up don't take what's not yours!!!!!! Over $100 worth of plants gone!! Never do business with a thief!

    My wife and I were relocating here for work, and had a very short amount of time to find a place to…read morerent that would accommodate our two golden retrievers. We came across a house that accepted our dogs, and went ahead and signed the lease. Everything started out fine - nice enough contacts in the office, a timely, thorough inspection/walk-through, etc. Overall, the house satisfied our needs until we got settled in the area and purchased a home. What was lacking was the overall property management/tenant relationship aspect of the management company. I wholeheartedly understand that the property we rented was far from their only rental property they supported, but from beginning-to-end, they seemed like they were more worried about keeping their landlord happy, than the tenants that were responsible for paying their commission. Additionally, contracting your work out (i.e. pool service, cleaning team) to the right people goes a long way in showing that you care about your personal/company image, and with the contractors that we had experience with, it just seemed like they either knew the people, or were trying to save as much money as possible. During the walk-through, we noticed how filthy the place was (dirty shelving, fixtures, floors, etc.), after having "just been cleaned" by Canam's "professional" cleaners. The rep from Canam said that he'd get it taken care of and cleaned again - great. The cleaning team came again and, not knowing my wife majored in Spanish in college, were berating us and saying (and I'm paraphrasing) that we purposely made the house dirty before they came. Completely unprofessional. Additionally, when we received our deposit back after moving out, we noticed how professionally they angled the "before" and "after" pictures (i.e. the "before" picture of a railing is zoomed in whatsoever, but the "after" picture zooms in on a surface scratch on some piece of the railing (along with a $250 charge to fix it, when I would have gladly went over and touched it up with paint)). It's also pretty convenient that they own the Foothills Renovations, LLC that did the work on the house after our move. I'm sure they don't inflate pricing at all (see rail example above). I would have considered the railing issue "normal wear", but what do I know? I'm not a landlord. Everything was going fine for the next month or so, until the dryer went out. It never worked quite right, and when it went out, Canam disclosed that they would not be replacing it. Thusly, we had to go out and buy a new washer/dryer to replace the 20 year old units that were "conveniently" in the house. I'd like to preface this by saying that this could be a blind accusation, but it just seems rather convenient that these things would neither be mentioned in the rental listing nor their condition disclosed prior to signing of the lease (even though we had to initial a line saying we understood they were "convenience items"), considering the dilapidated condition that they were in. Like I previously mentioned, the house served its purpose, but this review is solely based on our experience with the management company. They seem to have the ability to be good at what they do - it just seems like the "want to" just isn't there. Side note: The review below mine on Google, by Matthew Remus, violates Google's review policy. Matthew Remus works for RedStone Mortgage, which is in the same office as Canam. I saw his card on the front desk when I was dropping off keys.

    I obtained Fort Lowell Realty in 2021 to manage my duplex. In the beginning, I had responsive and…read morecommunicative property managers. However, from 2021 to 2025 they went through four different managers. I would have one person, everything would seem to be going well and then abruptly they'd tell me someone else was being assigned. In 2025, I was again assigned a new manager, Andrea R. and communication significantly declined in comparison to other property managers I had been assigned. Emails would often go unanswered for long periods of time. Everything fell apart during a tenant move-out at the end of 2025. Before the tenant moved out, I provided the original lease and deposit records to Andrea so there would be no confusion. During the scheduled move-out, the assigned manager was unavailable, and the person who performed the move-out inspection took not one photo. I had to step in myself after tenant departure to take move-out condition photos because Fort Lowell staff didn't do it. The departing tenant was instructed to leave the keys unsecured in the mailbox after 5:30pm, which was very concerning because they didn't set up a lockbox for the tenant to securely leave the keys after the inspection. In addition to all of this, they issued a security deposit refund using rents from another unit to the tenant before fully reviewing damages. Keep in mind I held the deposits, but they did not consult me or provide me with the breakdown and obtain my authorization before refunding the money that I should have provided from the deposit account not use rents from another unit's tenant. To make matters completely insanely worse, the refund included money that had already been returned years earlier to a prior co-tenant! After I began formally requesting proper documentation and correction of the accounting, communication became worse. I sent a written notice under the contract giving them nearly a month to fix the issues. The problems were not fully corrected. After I terminated the agreement with proper 30-day notice, communication completely stopped, they did not follow up with me with requested documentation and stopped responding to my other unit's tenant they were still managing in this timeframe. I have still not received the complete documentation or the remaining funds in my owner account. I also later discovered that another tenant had gone six months without a properly executed lease renewal, and I was never informed. As a landlord, you need clear communication, accurate accounting, and proper handling of deposits. In my experience, those basic protections were not consistently in place. In addition, Fort Lowell's team is extremely unprofessional, completely ignoring clients, being condescending, and just displaying levels of incompetence I didn't know could exist. If you're a property owner, I would not recommend you use Fort Lowell. In fact, RUN!

    This is a very negligent and unprofessional property management company. They took over the…read moreproperty I have been renting for over 4 years in September '21. On October 17 my refrigerator stopped cooling so I submitted a service request. I didn't hear anything back so I submitted a second request on October 22nd. I work 6 nights a week and do not have time to chase around property managers for them to do their jobs properly. I ended up getting an email in mid November asking for proof of renter's insurance, but no mention of the repair for the fridge. I provided the requested information and followed up about my previous service requests and lack of response. I was told I never submitted the requests ( I have screenshots) and was told it was my fault it had gone so long because I hadn't called or emailed. Apparently 2 service requests isn't sufficient communication. They ended up giving me a $100 credit to make up for the close to $1000 I had to put out to cover the combination of lost groceries and ordering food while not able to store anything needing refrigeration. During November I had talked to a refrigeration repair man at my job who told me to try using a blow drying on the freezer vent because it may be frozen over. I tried it and it improved the cooling. At this point the service appointment is a few days away, (the monday following Thanksgiving, over a month of no fridge) so I kept the appointment so a technician could confirm if the issue was really resolved. Fast forward to this month and my rent is almost $200 higher because they charged me for the service appointment as well as the $100 credit I was given for the loss of food. They said I lied about the food! I called them and told them I'm taking legal action due to the negligence and their continued treatment of me and they turned around and eliminated the extra charges only to send me a 30 day termination notice! It's dated at the end of my lease in April, but they are basically telling me I can't renew in retaliation for taking them to task due to their negligence. Daniella is extremely unprofessional and denied the existence of my service requests until I furnished screenshots. During my call disputing the charges, she handed Dean the phone, who then began to yell and cuss at me without knowing the full situation. Most unprofessional property management I have ever seen. DO NOT do business with these people. I will be taking action and welcome anyone else to join me who has been put out by this criminally negligent company. This is all current as of today.

    Brandon Boxrud at Apartment Hunters managed my rental townhouse in Chandler for more than 10 years…read morewhile I lived out of state. It can be frustrating and worrisome to be a property owner when you aren't anywhere nearby, but I had total trust in Brandon to take care of things. He led a few renovation projects for me and was always able to get good tenants in quickly. When it came time for me to sell the place recently, I turned to Brandon, who is also a real estate agent. He again managed some reno projects to freshen up the place for sale -- all without me having to come to AZ. The townhouse sold within a week of it going on the market at a very good price, better than I'd hoped. I had to pay a commission for Brandon's services as a real estate agent and an additional commission to Apartment Hunters, since he was working in that capacity. It was a little pricey but I felt it was well worth it for me to have peace of mind and not have to worry about doing any of the prep work myself. I'd recommend Brandon to anyone in the Phoenix/East Valley area needing property management services or real estate services.

    This company managed a rental house in North Phoenix in Middle Vista, the rental house has had…read morenumberous compliants, they refused to listen to HOA fines, and compliants. Never notified the owner, Tenants moved out and left a pile of trash that has been sitting in front of the house now since Thursday. It is leaking chemicals, spoiled food and now maggots. The house is totally destroyed by this tenant who the police has been called 8 times on for various violations. This home owner, sadly, is in for a serious shock at the amount of money it is going to cost to totally renovate this home that is less than 1 1/2 years old. Sadly, I feel they absolutely did not screen these past tenants who by all accounts it was a drug house. Neighbors have tried to contact this company and they won't even acknowledge our concerns.
