Had the tools and know how to get the job done, but probably didn't need to tighten P trap unions with channel locks (have heard from some plumbers this isn't necessary) and didn't use a fire resistant cloth to protect the wall when using the torch. However the guy is diligent and made sure everything was completed and there were no leaks when he was done. Overall he did good work for a competitive price and I would use his service again.

The first technician replaced a part that apparently did not need to be replaced, and the original problem continued. The second technician made an adjustment that did not resolve the issue. On top of that, the hot/cold water settings were switched. His proposed solution was for me to manually paint stripes to identify which side was hot and which was cold instead of actually correcting the problem. Then a THIRD technician came out and wanted to charge me again to replace yet another part, plus additional labor. He adjusted the water so it no longer comes out cold, but now the temperature basically goes from warm to extremely hot. Once again, the job was not properly completed. My experience has also been inconsistent because each visit involved a different technician, and the level of knowledge and workmanship seemed to vary significantly. After three visits, multiple attempted fixes, and money already spent, my bathroom is STILL leaking and I am left with another problem involving the water temperature. I hired a plumbing company because I expected a professional diagnosis and a complete repair--not repeated visits, different explanations, additional proposed charges, and half-completed work. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company. I would rather pay a reputable plumbing company to diagnose and repair the problem correctly the first time than continue paying for attempted fixes that leave me with unresolved issues.

During this process another tech brought a bigger machine - afterhours. Then he correctly diagnosed the problem - the city line was plugged. Zach talked to the city dispatcher (Saturday @ 8 pm) and then left. At the end of the project a few months later another leak from the rerouted pipe. The Carl Skelly of Skelly Plumbing was called out to install a shower trim set including valve and…read morehand sprayer. When he arrived I was told that no credit for the $175.00 trip charge would be given toward the cost of doing the work. In other words, I would owe them for the trip charge even if I elected to do the work. This is very unusual from any other service vendor I have ever used. They always remove the trip charge if the work is done. Now that I was into them for the excessive trip charge, I was told that the installation of the shower trim would be almost $1.000.00 and that did not include the trim parts which I already owned. I should have sent him on his way and cut my losses but I regretfully allowed him to do the work. After he finished the water pressure was very poor and he told me that the parts might be defective and to call Moen the manufacturer. Not wanting to ever see Carl Skelly again, I called another plumber out to take a look at the problem. He completely disassembled the shower trim and removed 3 flow restrictors and screens (which I asked Skelly to remove) and put it all back together. The water pressure is better than ever now. Skelly Plumbing is a ripoff and takes advantage of their customers by charging an excessive non refundable trip charge. The work was unsatisfactory and this "expert" plumber didn't even know how to remove the flow restrictors to allow useable water flow volume. Buyer beware!!!
