The Carl Skelly of Skelly Plumbing was called out to install a shower trim set including valve and…read morehand sprayer. When he arrived I was told that no credit for the $175.00 trip charge would be given toward the cost of doing the work. In other words, I would owe them for the trip charge even if I elected to do the work. This is very unusual from any other service vendor I have ever used. They always remove the trip charge if the work is done. Now that I was into them for the excessive trip charge, I was told that the installation of the shower trim would be almost $1.000.00 and that did not include the trim parts which I already owned. I should have sent him on his way and cut my losses but I regretfully allowed him to do the work. After he finished the water pressure was very poor and he told me that the parts might be defective and to call Moen the manufacturer. Not wanting to ever see Carl Skelly again, I called another plumber out to take a look at the problem. He completely disassembled the shower trim and removed 3 flow restrictors and screens (which I asked Skelly to remove) and put it all back together. The water pressure is better than ever now. Skelly Plumbing is a ripoff and takes advantage of their customers by charging an excessive non refundable trip charge. The work was unsatisfactory and this "expert" plumber didn't even know how to remove the flow restrictors to allow useable water flow volume. Buyer beware!!!
