Dreamhome "OF SPRINGFIELD VA" talked me into a Roofmax spray on my 27-year-old roof. What a waste…read moreof money. Did nothing for my old roof; they sprayed over dirty, moldy, blackened 27-year-old shingles, $6000 wasted. I gave them a bad review a while back on Yelp, and then the company owner called me and said that if they refunded me half of my cost, would I remove or revise the review; basically a bribe to clear a bad review. That was about four weeks ago, and I have not heard back from them since. The salesperson was a rip-off, and Dreamhome is a rip-off. Avoid their scam. Sean - Midland, VA

"Sean,
I am sorry you feel that way. We do want to help, and we feel something is owed...
My question still stands. Will you settle for less than $3,000? I can mail you a check for $2,000 with a signed settlement agreement today."
And then, you never hear back from them (Dreamhome)! They talk a lot of BS but never deliver.

RESPONSE TO DREAMHOME OCT. 10, 2026 COMMENT FROM NISH PATEL:
First off, I was "sold" a Roof Maxx treatment for my "27-year-old" roof. That is simply the fact; no one disputes that. Everywhere, including the Roof Maxx product literature itself, says this should not be used on a 27-year-old roof; that is just a fact. Especially a roof that is black with mold.
In addition, Roof Maxx must be sprayed when the temperature is above 36 degrees Fahrenheit (and ideally around or above 40°F in the weekly forecast).
When Roof Maxx sprayed my roof on the morning of Dec. 4, 2024, it was 35 degrees. DREAMHOME was the manager of this work; they were responsible, and they took my payment.
There was nothing to "address"; you cannot "unspray" the roof.
"Initiate a warranty claim" so that DreamHome could now sell me a NEW roof? This "Buy-Back Guarantee" is simply a marketing scheme. Are you kidding me? You think that I would let the same rip-off company now replace my roof? NOT a chance! I would be forced to pay the price that you all set for a new roof, and not a competitive quote from multiple roofing companies.
In DreamHome's own words in a Sept. 3, 2026 email to me:
"Could our salesperson have made the wrong assessment in recommending treatment rather than replacement? Yes, that is certainly possible."
FACT:
On Yelp, out of the last "20" reviews, "13" of them have been 1-star, very negative reviews, NOT just mine. DreamHome is simply a group of slick hustlers, and most of their customers agree. The reviews speak for themselves. Nish and his thug buddies can spin this however they like, but this is a shady business that does not stand by their word; they push a garbage product and services. SIMPLY LOOK AT ALL THE OTHER REVIEWS!
I'm a retired software developer and manager for some of the largest companies in the USA. I would have long been fired if I ran a marketing scam like this Springfield VA DreamHome group. This Springfield group even has a reputation as "one star" among the other DreamHome subsidiaries around the county.
From the DreamHome website...
DreamHome Restore Buy-Back Guarantee™
If our "repair fails" within five (5) years from the completion date, we will buy back the repair and provide credit toward a full roof replacement. No fine print, no runaround.
Signed personally by Lenny Scarola, President.
This was not a "repair"; it was a spray treatment, and the meaning of "fails" is subjective. It did not fail; it should never have been applied in the first place. Just slick marketing words.
FACT: Nish Patel, Lenny Scarola, and Kevin Butler do not stand by their work or product. To date, I have received zero compensation, but DreamHome has the money!
