Woo hoo! is right. Hidden gem that everyone needs to discover!!!! Everything on this menu shouts creative, fresh, local, and tasty! Not what anyone would expect to find inside of a hotel. The decor is rustic and lighting is dim and romantic. I will start off by enforcing everyone to try the Clams BBLT found under the starter portion of the menu. Even if you don't like clams I have yet to find a person who hasn't had an orgasmic look on their face when they,ve tried it. I don' t work here but when I come in I eat at the bar and pressure everyone to try it and no one is disapointed. Parallell Post is huge on supporting local farmers and businesses in the area. From the greens to the meats it's all fresh and good. A few menu items change almost weekly to bring new flavors to the table. Chef Ali is very creative and def. appreciates the good feedback. The menu also varies from casual to something you may find on a fine dining menu but at affordable prices for great qaulity and portions. Hair in my meal. Drink was good though. I ordered the Braised Short Ribs. I took a few bites and found absolutely no flavor then oddly enough, a hair in my meal saved me from having to eat any more. The server offered a replacement so I had the Grass Fed Double Hamburger. It was very good but not what I wanted on a Saturday night out with friends. I didn't know what to expect because a lot of times restaurants in hotels can be iffy. - But I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is very welcoming and has a relaxed vibe. I was there on a Saturday night with a friend and got seated right away. The menu had a lot of interesting choices. I had the "adult grilled cheese" it was excellent Also had the duck salad. Service was great. They messed up my dinner guest's orders a couple of times and forgot to bring her refills back several times, but our server was amazing, very apologetic and made up for it. The food is very tasty, albeit a little pricy. However, they have some inspired options and I love that this is a hotel restaurant with such a focus on local/sustainable food. Was recommended to come here for Bootleg Greg's amazing cocktails. Boy they did not dissapoint! The Lady Killer and Red sangria were so delicious I just wanted to keep ordering more! The house made chips and the dip - divine. The wings were okay, the grilled cheese sandwich was perfectly cut into 4 and so tasty due to the truffle! The curry homemade pasta even better and finally the chicken sandwich on brioche bun with gouda and a small side salad hit the spot after all those mouth watering cocktails. Probably the best restaurant in Trumbull. Some of the tables here are segregated from the main floor. Makes for excellent conversation and private meals. We tried a lot of food here. The highlights were the pork belly fried rice, swordfish spread and the burger. For dessert, we ended up ordering a second Panna Cotta to share. Its. That. Amazing... The dishes prepared at Parallel Post use ingredients that are sourced from local vendors. Like other farm to table restaurants, he menu changes often depending on what is available. Notable dishes include the Fire Roasted Oysters with preserved lemon butter and smoked bacon. Chef de Cuisine Ali said we'd become a fan of oysters once we tried her dish, and surely, we did. The oysters were perfectly cooked, and so delicious. If you see it on the menu, we urge you to try it. The Clams BLT is another wonderful dish. It's not your typical BLT sandwich, the dish comes in a bowl. The clams absorb the flavors of the spicy tomato broth and the smoked bacon, and the romaine lettuce is actually grilled. read more

I've been here waaay too many times since it's inside the Marriott and I stay here often. I've eaten most everything on the menu except the large steaks and such. So here are my comments: Lobster sliders - awesome! my favorite - get them almost everytime crab cake - eh, had better wings - standard but good Cobb salad - amazing! bread salad - eh unexciting lobster bisque - too sweet for my taste but still good. burger - standard but good pulled pork sliders - great house chips - love! great beer and wine selection. One of the better places I have gone to in CT! I go here a lot! The food is almost always spot on and so flavorful. I think I had one bad dish, once, I can't remember what it was because I am always getting something new when I go. I love that the menu is always changing. Titanic. Yup - I'm back. So the Fried Cod Fish sandwich was so disgusting - Hey people clean out the old oil!! When you eat a sandwich and your hands reek of fry-o-lator oil - sumthin' ain't right. My wife and I like Parallel Post for our yearly anniversary dinner and for special occasions, so when our 9 year old son requested a "fancy dinner," we immediately thought about this place. This most recent visit however was a sad departure from the good food and service of our previous visits. It was 5:30 on a Sunday evening, and there was no crowd (we had a reservation). We were seated away from the the main area and close to a beauty pageant with lots of loud, thumping music, so that was annoying. We ordered drinks, which took a really long time to show up, as well as our app. The food didn't take too much longer after that, which was fine. We then ordered two desserts, which also took an insanely long time to show up, and no offer of coffee, which was strange. The check finally showed up and I had the card ready. We sat for another 8 or more minutes before I realized that our server had yet to return to get it. Keep in mind that it's still not busy at all. My wife looked at me and asked if I was going to find her, which I did after the bartender got her. I got the bill back a minute later, signed the slip, and then I we were off. At 10:30 that night I got a call saying that I needed to settle up my bill. I had received three separate slips to sign, so I chose one of them since none had a "merchant or customer copy" designation. I guess I chose the wrong one because they thought I was a hotel guest and not just an off the street diner. I called back and a girl answered, "Hello" (phone etiquette?) She was our server, and I had to explain the whole thing again, and that we did pay for the dinner. She asked if it was the card ending in (numbers), and I said it was. She thanked me and hung up. Our son loved his dinner and was very happy, but we were just sad that the evening was filled with so many missteps and lackluster service. read more

Went last week it was like an entire new place waitress acted like she was doing us a favor. Our table candles not lit so could barely read menu. We have been back 3 more times, the service seems to have been the recipient of a "tune up" to some extent. Quite good, but not quite what it hopes to be. Fine drink selection, my better half loves bubbly and they had two interesting splits. I had a nice valpolicella ripasso. We shared a great beet salad with goat cheese and an awesome chocolate and sea salt dessert. The entrées were well conceived, but under seasoned. The servers (all classy men btw) and food quality is CONSISTENTLY excellent. I am a regular due to my job and they REMEMBER ME NOW! I stayed in the Trumbull Marriott over the Thanksgiving holiday and are several meals at Parallel Post. For breakfast we had the buffet which was standard. Everything was satisfactory, nothing special. The dinner and the service of the night staff was exceptional, however! (If I was just eating dinner I'd give it 5 stars!) I had the chef's selection: pear and Gorgonzola salad, braised short ribs and chocolate hazel it panna cotta for dessert. It was the best meal I've had out in years!! The other people I dined with had the bolognese (homemade pasta verde) and the bistro burger with sea salted fries and the crystal wings. All delicious. Was expecting a nice dinner and it exceeded my expectations. We started off with the fried calamari and it was paired with a really nice, chipotle-ish sauce. We also had two orders of the fire roasted oysters with bacon- they were absolutely delicious. I went with a group of 5 and we all ordered different dishes. The big stand outs of the table were the double burgers as the entree, the Sweet Onion Potato & Gruyere Gratin as the side and the Chocolate Pannacotta, Sea Salted Caramel Sauce, Toasted Hazelnuts as the dessert. Someone had the salmon that they were raving about and Georges Bank Scallops, fettucine, smoked bacon, shallots, Pea Sprouts, parmesan bubbles were delicious. I really want to like this restaurant, as I live in Trumbull, I visited it for breakfast, lunch and twice for dinner. So - it annoys me when I order a sandwich for lunch and there are no chips or fries with it. Throw a handful of potato chips on the plate or charge a couple of dollars more and add some french fries. Beet salad is expensive - $14 - for a couple of beets and salad, definitely needs a slice of goat cheese, onions - and more for the money. Steak is no where the quality is should be. With some additional touches, Parallel Post could go a long way - but it definitely needs some improvement. read more

Could I be more disappointed, no! We have spent two previous Thanksgiving dinners at Parallel Post and they put out a lovely buffet and we truly enjoyed ourselves. This year they had a plated meal, which in and of itself is not problematic. The menu consisted of three main course choices and no choice of salad or appetizer - let me be clear - there was NO salad or appetizer. We asked since the idea of just a main course for Thanksgiving is pretty sad to me and we asked for a Caesar salad (at $9 additional - again no problem) The salad was fine but not split into 2 portions when we clearly said we were sharing. I had to get up and get 2 plates from the dessert buffet for us to portion the salad. I had the turkey and my husband had the salmon. In fairness he said his salmon was very good. My turkey was not. First off the food was lukewarm to actually cold in the case of the string beans. If the cranberry sauce was not canned it made a great facsimile of canned sauce. The portion of turkey was one slice (albeit thick) of white meat and a few small pieces of dark meat (one bite pieces). There was a very good but lukewarm sweet potato casserole and mashed potatoes and stuffing. Who needs three starches on the plate? Please next time (which won't be happening for us) more turkey less starch. There was a dessert bar at which I tasted the chocolate bread pudding not bad and not too sweet - a praline cheesecake which had no flavor. My husband also tasted the expresso panna cotta which he said was also mediocre. We were not offered coffee, or bread, or anything. What has happened to this restaurant? Went with a friend who recommended this place, she lives an hour away, I live around the corner and never heard of it. We were 1 of 2 tables and the service was probably the worst I've ever had. The food was very good but I unfortunately probably won't go back just because the service was so astoundingly bad. Located at the Trumbull Marriott -- it's their bar and restaurant. Good for happy hour business meetings --- and there's lots of space to spread out if you need to get some work done. The service can be hit or miss in my experience (which is why it's only 3 Stars), but otherwise it's a good option if you're staying at the Marriott or are in the area. I've had brunch, dinner, and lunch at the Parallel Post and have rarely been disappointed. A large bar area and sports on the TV's are an added bonus for weary travelers and sports fans alike. read more

Parallel Post has a great chef who has created a very gourmet menu. We ordered the BLT clams which was served in a delicious broth. The broth was devoured after the clams were polished off. The roasted Brussel sprouts were superb as were the roasted pepper appetizer. The filet mignon entree which I had was cooked perfectly as was the sour dough encrusted tilapia. The lobster Mac n cheese was pretty good, not great. The desserts were to DIE for, ESPECIALLY the strawberry goat cheese tart.
