Excellent, fresh food with an elegant presentation. Pricey but worth it for special occasions. Our waiter Dave was wonderful! We were treated to dessert in honor of our anniversary. Would definitely go back. read more

I gave this bar/restaurant a 1 start rating for the following reasons. 1st it took about 5 min to have someone asking me what I wanted to drink, while seated at the bar, when there were only 4 customers. The food ( I had some wings ) were ok. Order some IPA, which I paid a whooping $8.50, for a 16oz draft, IMHO a little expensive. On the menu the price of the wings was $10, but when the bill was presented it showed $11. Asked why there was a difference, and the answer was, the system sometimes does it, and instead of offering to get it fixed, he just asked if I really wanted to just reopen the tab for a dollar difference. I just signed my credit card receipt, left a tip and turn my back on it. There was visibly no effort to fix it.Needless to say, next time I stay at this Marriott I am not letting myself be robbed again. read more

Hair in my meal. Drink was good though. I ordered the Braised Short Ribs. I took a few bites and found absolutely no flavor then oddly enough, a hair in my meal saved me from having to eat any more. The server offered a replacement so I had the Grass Fed Double Hamburger. It was very good but not what I wanted on a Saturday night out with friends. I was never offered a comp for my meal which is typically the minimum one would expect after eating a hair. Not even coffee. read more

I didn't know what to expect because a lot of times restaurants in hotels can be iffy. - But I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is very welcoming and has a relaxed vibe. I was there on a Saturday night with a friend and got seated right away. The menu had a lot of interesting choices. I had the "adult grilled cheese" it was excellent Also had the duck salad. Friend had a burger and wings. And eve had rice pudding for dessert . Excellent drinks and great service. Everything was excellent and tasty . I'll definitely be going back! read more

Service was great. They messed up my dinner guest's orders a couple of times and forgot to bring her refills back several times, but our server was amazing, very apologetic and made up for it. The food is very tasty, albeit a little pricy. However, they have some inspired options and I love that this is a hotel restaurant with such a focus on local/sustainable food. Ps: The Sweet Potato Cheesecake is amazing! read more

Was recommended to come here for Bootleg Greg's amazing cocktails. Boy they did not dissapoint! The Lady Killer and Red sangria were so delicious I just wanted to keep ordering more! The house made chips and the dip - divine. The wings were okay, the grilled cheese sandwich was perfectly cut into 4 and so tasty due to the truffle! The curry homemade pasta even better and finally the chicken sandwich on brioche bun with gouda and a small side salad hit the spot after all those mouth watering cocktails. Service was great, atmosphere was great, but the cocktails and food were even better! I will be back! :) read more

Parallel Post - New American Near Me - Trumbull, Connecticut

Probably the best restaurant in Trumbull. Some of the tables here are segregated from the main floor. Makes for excellent conversation and private meals. We tried a lot of food here. The highlights were the pork belly fried rice, swordfish spread and the burger. For dessert, we ended up ordering a second Panna Cotta to share. Its. That. Amazing... We're going back just for that. read more

The dishes prepared at Parallel Post use ingredients that are sourced from local vendors. Like other farm to table restaurants, he menu changes often depending on what is available. Notable dishes include the Fire Roasted Oysters with preserved lemon butter and smoked bacon. Chef de Cuisine Ali said we'd become a fan of oysters once we tried her dish, and surely, we did. The oysters were perfectly cooked, and so delicious. If you see it on the menu, we urge you to try it. The Clams BLT is another wonderful dish. It's not your typical BLT sandwich, the dish comes in a bowl. The clams absorb the flavors of the spicy tomato broth and the smoked bacon, and the romaine lettuce is actually grilled. read more

Fantastic food and service. Much higher quality restaurant that the hotels I travel to for business. I had the clam chowder and monkfish. Both were fantastic. The service was also great. My server was Rose and she was very informative, patient and attentive. All with a huge smile on her face. read more

I've been here waaay too many times since it's inside the Marriott and I stay here often. I've eaten most everything on the menu except the large steaks and such. So here are my comments: Lobster sliders - awesome! my favorite - get them almost everytime crab cake - eh, had better wings - standard but good Cobb salad - amazing! bread salad - eh unexciting lobster bisque - too sweet for my taste but still good. burger - standard but good pulled pork sliders - great house chips - love! great beer and wine selection. Good service. and overall a good restaurant for a hotel. read more

One of the better places I have gone to in CT! I go here a lot! The food is almost always spot on and so flavorful. I think I had one bad dish, once, I can't remember what it was because I am always getting something new when I go. I love that the menu is always changing. Great place to go, and is a must visit if your are in the area. The chocolate panna cotta is out of this world!!! read more

Had an amazing dinner at Parallel Post and would highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious food and drinks! The drink and food menu offer seasonally relevant farm to table selections, and you can't go wrong! I had a titos ginger specialty cocktail to start, which was beyond delicious and refreshing! Followed by watermelon and feta salad, drunken chicken. Everything was so tasty and fresh! Plus the staff is super nice!! I can't wait to go back and see what's new!! read more

Just had dinner here tonight. Monk fish was bad. Too heavy. Brought us pizza that was way too salty. Not worth the money and management didn't do anything to compensate for the bad food. New menu is not good. read more

Titanic. Yup - I'm back. So the Fried Cod Fish sandwich was so disgusting - Hey people clean out the old oil!! When you eat a sandwich and your hands reek of fry-o-lator oil - sumthin' ain't right. Parallel Post belongs in a parallel universe. Next day (today) tried the grilled chicken. Bland, nothing interesting or good to say about it. This place is in need of attention in the kitchen. Chips and feta dipping sauce - someone forgot to put the feta in. Green goddess dipping sauce instead. WTF??? read more

It's in the hotel but the food and ambiance are good. They change the menu do don't just expect what's online. The the selection is varied but the kitchen know what they're doing and will not disappoint. read more

My wife and I like Parallel Post for our yearly anniversary dinner and for special occasions, so when our 9 year old son requested a "fancy dinner," we immediately thought about this place. This most recent visit however was a sad departure from the good food and service of our previous visits. It was 5:30 on a Sunday evening, and there was no crowd (we had a reservation). We were seated away from the the main area and close to a beauty pageant with lots of loud, thumping music, so that was annoying. We ordered drinks, which took a really long time to show up, as well as our app. The food didn't take too much longer after that, which was fine. We then ordered two desserts, which also took an insanely long time to show up, and no offer of coffee, which was strange. The check finally showed up and I had the card ready. We sat for another 8 or more minutes before I realized that our server had yet to return to get it. Keep in mind that it's still not busy at all. My wife looked at me and asked if I was going to find her, which I did after the bartender got her. I got the bill back a minute later, signed the slip, and then I we were off. At 10:30 that night I got a call saying that I needed to settle up my bill. I had received three separate slips to sign, so I chose one of them since none had a "merchant or customer copy" designation. I guess I chose the wrong one because they thought I was a hotel guest and not just an off the street diner. I called back and a girl answered, "Hello" (phone etiquette?) She was our server, and I had to explain the whole thing again, and that we did pay for the dinner. She asked if it was the card ending in (numbers), and I said it was. She thanked me and hung up. Our son loved his dinner and was very happy, but we were just sad that the evening was filled with so many missteps and lackluster service. read more

This is the most inconsistent restaurant i have ever been too I have eaten dinner 4 times First was thanksgiving buffet it was terrible Cranberry sauce was bitter Turkey tasteless Buffet table a mess and desserts out of box I gave it another chance as i was hearing great things. Went back it was great service was wonderful menu creative and delish. Second was again very good especially dessert! Went last week it was like an entire new place waitress acted like she was doing us a favor. Our table candles not lit so could barely read menu. She saw us struggling and did nothing No water on table. We waited 45 min to get meal. Waitress or host never said a word did not offer bread seemed annoyed when we asked about the long wait. My pasta with parmesan bubbles had all deflated telling me it sat a while. No thank u no sorry!!! So disappointed. There is something desperately wrong at this place I will not return read more

We have been back 3 more times, the service seems to have been the recipient of a "tune up" to some extent. Food was excellent both times, and desserts stand out as some of the best around in any restaurant I have been to in CT - and that's saying something bc restaurant desserts usually read great and taste like crap.....here they are good in print and on china!! read more

Quite good, but not quite what it hopes to be. Fine drink selection, my better half loves bubbly and they had two interesting splits. I had a nice valpolicella ripasso. We shared a great beet salad with goat cheese and an awesome chocolate and sea salt dessert. The entrées were well conceived, but under seasoned. They could have, should have, been great, but landed at good. Will go back, but not rush back. read more

Been here several times. Generally good experience nice change of pace for the area. Creative menu. But tonight (Thursday) only 12 people in restaurant and the service is slowwwwww. It took almost 30mins for main course to come out and desert was almost 20min. read more

Ok. You just HAVE to get past the rude unkempt girls at the hostess desk. Just take a deep breath and ignore it. Because when you get seated? The servers (all classy men btw) and food quality is CONSISTENTLY excellent. I am a regular due to my job and they REMEMBER ME NOW! This is awesome as it helps my homesickness I get missing my home~west village manhattan!!! Favorite regular restaurants and cafes. I am almost tearful as this find was a long quest! And I need to stay here at Marriott Trumbull 2 nights a week about 45 wks per year for now. The pannacotta caramel dessert is epic. The ingredients to the whole menu fresh!! read more

I stayed in the Trumbull Marriott over the Thanksgiving holiday and are several meals at Parallel Post. For breakfast we had the buffet which was standard. Everything was satisfactory, nothing special. The dinner and the service of the night staff was exceptional, however! (If I was just eating dinner I'd give it 5 stars!) I had the chef's selection: pear and Gorgonzola salad, braised short ribs and chocolate hazel it panna cotta for dessert. It was the best meal I've had out in years!! The other people I dined with had the bolognese (homemade pasta verde) and the bistro burger with sea salted fries and the crystal wings. All delicious. Fantastic service (our waiter was from Portugal, Dave, I believe) and he completed the meal with his knowledgeable, friendly service. Thank you!! read more

Was expecting a nice dinner and it exceeded my expectations. We started off with the fried calamari and it was paired with a really nice, chipotle-ish sauce. We also had two orders of the fire roasted oysters with bacon- they were absolutely delicious. I went with a group of 5 and we all ordered different dishes. The big stand outs of the table were the double burgers as the entree, the Sweet Onion Potato & Gruyere Gratin as the side and the Chocolate Pannacotta, Sea Salted Caramel Sauce, Toasted Hazelnuts as the dessert. Someone had the salmon that they were raving about and Georges Bank Scallops, fettucine, smoked bacon, shallots, Pea Sprouts, parmesan bubbles were delicious. Overall we enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the service. It's pricy but it's very, very good. read more

I really want to like this restaurant, as I live in Trumbull, I visited it for breakfast, lunch and twice for dinner. So - it annoys me when I order a sandwich for lunch and there are no chips or fries with it. Throw a handful of potato chips on the plate or charge a couple of dollars more and add some french fries. Beet salad is expensive - $14 - for a couple of beets and salad, definitely needs a slice of goat cheese, onions - and more for the money. Steak is no where the quality is should be. With some additional touches, Parallel Post could go a long way - but it definitely needs some improvement. read more

Needs a lot of improvement. The food is off. A lady next to me at the bar ate half of her crab cakes she said it was just ok. Looked at a few other fish dinners coming our and I was not impressed. My flank steak was not that great and the burnt vegetable well I could pass read more

It was the worst experience I have had as I had to wait for 30 minutes to get a panini, which I couldn't wait and decided to walk away. So, please save time and money to stay away from the restaurant. read more

First restaurant we've ever walked out of. My bf and I are in the industry and can tell they were short staffed but we waited for 20 minutes just to be walked by and looked at but never spoken to to let us know they'll be right with us or anything. read more

Amazing nugget of a restaurant concealed under the disguise of a Marriott. You'll never think.

Went with a friend who recommended this place, she lives an hour away, I live around the corner and never heard of it. We were 1 of 2 tables and the service was probably the worst I've ever had. The food was very good but I unfortunately probably won't go back just because the service was so astoundingly bad. Being that we are both in the service industry we can't help but tip 20% but I wasn't happy about it. read more

Food is delicious and service is good. It is, though, a bit pricey, but the breakfast, lunch and dinner were very good. Full bar. Awesome desserts. read more

Located at the Trumbull Marriott -- it's their bar and restaurant. Good for happy hour business meetings --- and there's lots of space to spread out if you need to get some work done. The service can be hit or miss in my experience (which is why it's only 3 Stars), but otherwise it's a good option if you're staying at the Marriott or are in the area. I've had brunch, dinner, and lunch at the Parallel Post and have rarely been disappointed. A large bar area and sports on the TV's are an added bonus for weary travelers and sports fans alike. read more

Not your typical hotel restaurant! Consistently great, farm-to-table, inventive (but not pretentious) menu. So good!

Could I be more disappointed, no! We have spent two previous Thanksgiving dinners at Parallel Post and they put out a lovely buffet and we truly enjoyed ourselves. This year they had a plated meal, which in and of itself is not problematic. The menu consisted of three main course choices and no choice of salad or appetizer - let me be clear - there was NO salad or appetizer. We asked since the idea of just a main course for Thanksgiving is pretty sad to me and we asked for a Caesar salad (at $9 additional - again no problem) The salad was fine but not split into 2 portions when we clearly said we were sharing. I had to get up and get 2 plates from the dessert buffet for us to portion the salad. I had the turkey and my husband had the salmon. In fairness he said his salmon was very good. My turkey was not. First off the food was lukewarm to actually cold in the case of the string beans. If the cranberry sauce was not canned it made a great facsimile of canned sauce. The portion of turkey was one slice (albeit thick) of white meat and a few small pieces of dark meat (one bite pieces). There was a very good but lukewarm sweet potato casserole and mashed potatoes and stuffing. Who needs three starches on the plate? Please next time (which won't be happening for us) more turkey less starch. There was a dessert bar at which I tasted the chocolate bread pudding not bad and not too sweet - a praline cheesecake which had no flavor. My husband also tasted the expresso panna cotta which he said was also mediocre. We were not offered coffee, or bread, or anything. What has happened to this restaurant? On the positive side we didn't overeat this Thanksgiving. Parallel Post you could not have disappointed us more and we will not be back. read more

Parallel Post has a great chef who has created a very gourmet menu. We ordered the BLT clams which was served in a delicious broth. The broth was devoured after the clams were polished off. The roasted Brussel sprouts were superb as were the roasted pepper appetizer. The filet mignon entree which I had was cooked perfectly as was the sour dough encrusted tilapia. The lobster Mac n cheese was pretty good, not great. The desserts were to DIE for, ESPECIALLY the strawberry goat cheese tart. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I will be returning. read more

So surprised by the quality at Parallel Post! The Double Angus burger was insane ! I love a good burger, but the flavor was amazing. Cooked perfectly. Our drinks were excellent as well the appetizer and dessert. Drinks were a little slow in coming, especially since the restaurant hasn't quite been discovered yet. Can't wait to have another burger! read more

Love farm to table restaurants, and frequent them as much as I can! I so want to give this place more stars, but the service is always poor. The food is often fantastic; however, I had the BLT clams the other night and they were full of sand. An extra star will pop up as soon as the service gets more attentive. read more
