Cafe right in the corner of the mall with plenty of both indoor and patio seating Large drink menu with coffees and other lighter options like spirulina Hot chocolate was absolutely delicious. Their muffins were large and hardy. Plenty of bakery offerings like cookies, croissants, scones, muffins and wafers

If we had more mornings in San Diego, there is no doubt we would have returned. An abundance of healthy and gluten free options, in a fun and colorful space. You order at the counter and food is brought to your table. We ordered the protein waffle (GF) and a banana bread loaf. The protein waffle was shockingly delicious with no protein powder or gluten - how do they do it? The loaf was also very tasty. Please come to Austin so we can try more menu options!

so many amazing gluten free options here! i went in the morning after a rainy day & the inside was packed/loud but when the patio isn't wet, it's beautiful & a great place to work/catch up with friends. most of their pastries are gluten free (i love the banana oat muffin!) i got a latte and the greek yogurt bowl (the jam in the middle was delicious!). there were quite a few outlets & some booths for cozy seating. service takes a bit of time since it's so popular so i wouldn't go in a rush but would highly recommend!

Wow! Wow! Wow! An awesome lovely place! My husband wanted coffee but with something different and this place is all pink and soon as I saw I was like I need to date my daughters here so awesome. Our server was young lady so pretty and so helpful she got me her favorite drink and my husband hot chocolate and we tried the danish and vegan chocolate chip.... Must Try!

Always an amazing experience! Everything on the menu is good! I always go when I'm in town.

The protein waffle was just perfect. I also got the poke bowl, can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu. It was very hard to decide what to get! Pretty busy on a Thursday afternoon.

Parakeet Cafe has always been a healthy and tasty higher end quality restaurant with lots of delicious options for various appetites. This is vegan squash soup with sourdough bread. Plus a wonderful pumpkin matcha latte. If you want a nice place for a special lunch or brunch or a coffee date, this will be for you! And the staff are always nice and friendly.

Delicious but pricey. Prices are in line with other establishments in the area though. We've tried a lot of their selection over time but today I tried the side Wild Caught Tuna with Chips. It was a good snack and not too overly filling. The tuna had a tasty sauce on it and there were chunks of fresh avocado and jalapeño slices mixed in. Delicious! Service was friendly especially as I had questions on the menu. Parking is a bit difficult during lunch.

One of the most simple, yet amazing Acai bowls I've ever had!

05-Aug-2025 I love a fresh, cold açaí bowl. While consulting in One Paseo I stumbled on Parakeet Cafe' and learned they have açaí bowls. I tried it and was not disappointed. As far as vibe and the inside, I actually visited a few days prior for a meeting and the ambiance and vibe is what made me come back. Also, the fact that a friend had an açaí bowl and I had to try it for myself. If you are in or near One Paseo and want a delicious açaí bowl then stop by Parakeet Cafe'. Thanks, Ashley

It was my first time having the food here after a recommendation from others! The service was also pretty nice. The food came out quickly and they took our orders quickly. There was a little bit of a line but it went by fast. They had fill your own water, which is definitely a plus for me as I drink a lot of water I enjoyed their chicken pesto sandwich but I thought there was a wee too much bread for the amount of chicken that was on the sandwich. I was a big fan of their potatoes though. The Shakshuka was alright. I wish there was more bread here(we used the extra bread from the sandwich. It was a bit yogurt heavy as well. Parking was also pretty simple as it is in a larger plaza. Overall, this place was alright! If you want some light breakfast/lunch food, I would recommend it!

I had been here about two years ago, having lunch with a friend... I ordered a beautiful salad yet it was so bland that I didn't want to come back. This time I ordered something different. I had a meeting here on a Thursday morning. Customers came in waves. I ordered a Turmeric Latte (1/2 sweetness) and the savory All I Avo Wanted Waffle. The latte was perfect in sweetness for me. The savory take on the waffle was surprisingly tasty that I look forward to having it again. (The side sauce was a bit too spicy.) The creamy avocado and fluffy egg had the perfect texture. There was a little bit of spice to it but it was tolerable. Overall, I was impressed with the food this time around that I would return.

Great food. The overnight oats hit the spot as well as the yogurt bowl. Very high quality food. Feel so refreshed after eating it! Thanks for the great service. Especially with me being a new visitor. Very welcoming environment. Seems to be a real hot spot for breakfast in Del Mar. if you haven't had it I highly recommend!

Beet smoked salmon with sourdough, labneh, avocado eggs and grilled asparagus. Very good!
    Meredith D.

Love Parakeet and I do come frequently. The salmon avocado toast is very good. The eggs were salty and I've noticed that with prior egg dishes. The pastries an amazing as are their drinks and packaged vegan products-- the peanut butter chocolate shortbread is so good! Keto and vegan. Service is always very friendly. Cute place and in a great location in One Paseo. Afternoons are a perfect time to come.

I told my friend the food was worth the wait. After an hour we got sat at the bar and our first server was friendly. There was a transition of servers (not sure if he left for the day or went on lunch) and the new server would check on everyone at the bar except us. My water remained empty for most of the meal. The bartenders in front of us were clearly having a conversation and I didn't want to interrupt. My friend claimed her Irish coffee was sour? And didn't realize cheese came on a side of eggs (she should've checked when she ordered but the server never clarified either). We weren't checked on during the meal until the bill came and by then we just wanted to leave. I ordered the fluffy pancakes and found an egg shell inside. The cracking of eggshells in my mouth made me loose my appetite. We paid (still tipped of course) and left. It was great the first time and mediocre the second time. I prefer consistently in service, especially if I'm waiting an hour to be seated.

We had spent most of the day around Bankers Hill and decided to grab an early dinner at Books & Records. Getting reservations was easy, but from the moment we walked in, the ambiance alone already had us sold. The place was still pretty quiet when we arrived, and to our surprise it was happy hour, so naturally we ordered a bunch of items off the menu along with drinks. Everything was ridiculously good. Not one miss. What really stood out though was the attention to detail. The host brought us a complimentary glass of champagne after hearing we were celebrating our anniversary. Small gesture, big impact. Stuff like that matters. As the night went on, the restaurant filled up, live music started playing, and the whole atmosphere just came alive. Our waiter never rushed us once, which made the experience feel even more intentional and relaxed. We were able to actually enjoy the moment instead of feeling pushed through dinner service. Good food is one thing. Great hospitality is another. This place gave us both. Next time we're in San Diego, we're absolutely making it a point to come back. Lovely spot. Lovely experience.

Cramped and loud, but nicely decorated and serving solid authentic meals. Mexican Latte-9/10: Pretty straightforward. A solid, nostalgic spiced coffee. Mazapan Latte-10/10: A novelty menu item, both nostalgic and tasty. With a sweetened condensed milk rim and mazapan dust, this sweet coffee is a must order. Chilaquiles-10/10: Cocina 35 knows how to throw down the best Mexican breakfast item: the chilaquiles. The Verde was good but didn't pack much heat. The Salsa Secreta was our favorite; a creamy 3-chile salsa with an artichoke flavor, this one packs an enjoyable amount of heat. The Chipotle was another yummy and creamy option, making your nose run but still very enjoyable. Frijoles Puercos-7/10: They were pretty standard. I've definitely had better. They served their purpose as a good side. Concha Rellena-7.5/10: Another creative menu item. Whipped cream and whole strawberries sandwiched between two french toast-style concha halves and drenched in cajeta. It was sweet and warm, but would've been more enjoyable with fresher and/or sliced strawberries. Fun to order, but a regular concha is better suited for enjoying with your coffee. Service-6/10: Again, Cocina 35 gets packed, so service isn't as attentive. Our party had to order and wait for water, ask for refills, call the server over for more orders and again for the bill, and wouldn't speak to us in Spanish. I witnessed other tables be spoken to in Spanish, but upon ordering I'd only be responded to in English. I know I'm a white Mexican, but native tongue is nice when I make it clear I'd like to order in Spanish. Overall, a fun spot with solid menu items. The samplers are pricey but probably the best bang for your buck. They do the classics very well, and are very much worth your visit!

Another table was also talking about this issue. Bacon was way overcooked as well. I also really dislike when food timing for a table is way off. I rather it stay in the kitchen under a heat lamp and come together rather that spend 5 minutes staring at my food being polite. So, for a fun "wow that's a ton of food" experience this is it. The meat pie was incredible. The flakiness of the crust especially stood out because it is seriously hard to replicate a taste of home from over 30 years ago, but they absolutely nailed it. It was spot on. I really took my time with every bite. The fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned so well too. It was so good that I had to order another pie to-go and yes, I literally carried it onto the plane with me. Even after traveling, it still did not disappoint. On top of the food, the service made the experience even more memorable. We were greeted quickly and were able to be seated without a reservation despite the large party. The food selection looked great. There were two vegetarian options including a pot pie. The pot pie was hearty and delicious. It was full of a variety of vegetables and the fries were amazing. Would definitely go back if I am in the area
