[[HIGHLIGHT]]A cute cafe cart in the office park.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Turn into the parking lot just before you've "reached your destination" - it's all free and plentiful on the weekends. The Cafe is easy to find. They have a nice variety of pastries, açaí bowl and other food offerings. I got the avo + egg everything bagel, good but nothing too special. Next time I need to try something from their beverage menus, that will likely increase my star rating.

    - [[HIGHLIGHT]]a cute stand alone shop tucked in a business plaza, just outdoor seating[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - lots of parking! - service was quick and kind, lots of pastries displayed in front (1) flat white: smooth, not too bitter or acidic, loved it with the oat milk (2) lavender matcha latte: not much of a matcha taste, the lavender overpowered it though the syrup was nice and not too floral/perfume tasting! would try again with less syrup or just a traditional matcha latte to better taste the matcha

It's an out-of-the-way coffee shop. While the service was friendly, it was slow. The latte was decent, a little bit burnt for my taste.

What a great location for a coffee and açaí cart! We were visiting Torrey Pines and wanted an açaí bowl. Parking is easy and there's lots of seating around. We got the peanut butter bowl and it was really good! I do wish the portions were bigger and maybe some more granola. It was still good overall. Great and fast service.

Liquid Bean Cafe is a coffee cart that is located in a business center. Very unassuming and even though we stopped by on a weekend, there were a decent amount of people stopping in and out. I got the Maca Chocolate latte which was non-caffeinated and it was really good! You could taste the quality of the chocolate and it was very soothing and had a smooth flavor. I also got a regular acai bowl which was just okay. I don't know if it was the combination of both the drink and the acai bowl but it was more on the sweet-side for me. But I loved my drink and would stop by again if I'm ever in the area!

Crunchy Açaí with Almond Butter, Nutmeg Turmeric Latte! Perfection!

What a find this place is!!!!! Nutmeg Turmeric Latte, PERFECT! Best in town, it's a real latte not a dessert drink! Yay!!!! Well done! And crunchy açaí bowl, fresh soft serve excellent!!! Soooo coming back here!!!!!!

Liquid Bean has smooth expresso! They offer baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal and more. I love the setting. They serve from a cute trailer in a nature setting in the center of a business park. The owner and people that work there are super sweet. I go here every time I come to San Diego. This is my daughter's daily go to. I will be back!

This is a coffee stand, not a cafe.with indoor seating. Located in a business park adjacent to a beautiful little garden with a few stone benches and a variety of succulents. It was a peaceful environment to sip coffee in the morning. The coffee was hot and delicious. They had a medium and a dark roast to choose from. Both were good. Smoothies, juices, and Acai bowels on the menu. Lots of Acai in the bottom of those bowls. Also a modest selection of pastries, and bags of chips for snacks. They have a tall cooler with grab and go wraps and sandwiches including small jars of caldo Verde Portuguese soup. Looked interesting but didn't try it at breakfast. The service was very friendly and prompt. Would return.

I love this place! They serve quality coffee drinks that are flavorful, but not too sweet. They are happy to explain the menu and modify drinks to your own taste. The honey cinnamon latte with oat milk (hot or iced) is my go-to. For seasonal drinks, I enjoy the snickerdoodle latte with less raw sugar. The avocado egg bagel, oatmeal, and açaí bowls are also yummy. It's located in the center of an office area and has seating amongst a garden area. It is usually only 2 people working, so if they get busy sometimes it takes a little longer for a drink. Be patient with them it's worth it!

Best açaí bowl i've had for sure! I got the PB Açaí and it was bombbbb. They also have amazing coffee here. I tried their special which at the time was a matcha lavender latte, delicious! It's a small stand in a parking lot, run by 2 really sweet women. There are some tables + seating. Definitely recommend coming here!

We each got to order a pot of tea, so we decided to order 5 different ones to try out more flavors together. The ones we picked were: -Jasmine orange oolong - Coconut milk green tea - Earl grey lavender - Vanilla cream -Strawberry rose champagne oolong tea My top two favorites were the jasmine orange oolong and the coconut milk green tea. The only flavor that none of us enjoyed was the strawberry rose champagne oolong tea, so when it came time for refills, we switched it to the rouge provence. For the food, there were four finger sandwiches: chicken breast, smoked salmon, cucumbers, and chopped spinach. We all liked the chicken breast one the most, and felt like the cucumbers and chopped spinach could have been combined into one sandwich for a more balanced flavor. For sweets, there was the seasonal scone, fruit tart, macaron, and donut. I loved the scone with the butter and fruit preserves, as well as the fruit tart. The service was polite, but a bit slow and we waited a while before our food arrived. There was only one person who was serving the entire afternoon tea area, so it's understandable that there's a longer wait. All in all, I would definitely come back for another afternoon tea experience!

Instead of treating customers with even basic courtesy, she was annoyed that anyone was there. A simple question was met with a nasty attitude, and the interaction left us feeling completely unwelcome. I saw her speak to other customers in the same manner, so it wasn't just us. Unfortunately, the coffee wasn't any better. It was poorly made, tasted burnt and bitter, and wasn't worth finishing. For a coffee shop, that's the one thing that should be done well. There are plenty of other local cafés where you'll be treated with respect and get a much better cup of coffee. Only draw is the bunnies, who I really hope Samantha treats with more care and kindness than she does her customers; I honestly am concerned for their wellbeing after experiencing how Samantha treats people.

This would have been an average San Diego coffee shop experience for me, except for the fact that I absolutely LOVED the cherry bomb! It's a cherry mocha and essentially a perfect drink for me. Back in 2019, Starbucks had a seasonal cherry mocha for Valentine's Day that I was obsessed with. Apparently I was the only one, because they haven't brought it back since. Cherry mochas are hard to come by, and I haven't really encountered another one. This one was delicious! The espresso was bold, the milk perfectly creamy, and the overall taste not too sweet (unlike Starbucks'). Wow!! I can already tell this will be a drink I daydream about. Unfortunately it was $7.50, which will prevent me from indulging very regularly. The rest of the menu is pricey too, with avocado toasts nearly reaching $20. (I may be a millennial, but I can certainly understand the negative stereotype when I see coffee shop prices like these.) Besides pricing, the other downside of this place is the limited seating. There were only 4 small outdoor tables, so unless you're with just one other person and you arrive before 10am, I'd suggest grabbing your coffee to go and taking a walk. My friend and I sat down, since there were open tables when we arrived. She enjoyed her iced honey cinnamon latte. If you love a cherry mocha or are looking for coffee in the design district, definitely come through!

That was cool. The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable of their products. I ordered their Citrus Celery juice. A little bit on the sweet side especially for being beet based. But still very refreshing and also well balanced out with the cacao. The açaí bowl was the best I ever had. The presentation said it all. It was paired well with green apple, raspberries, bananas, walnuts, all the oats, maybe Nutella drizzle and coconut shavings with Greek yogurt. I was down for a second bowl. But it was very filling. Once again a perfect blend of everything. We also tried the avocado toast. It's lovely with turmeric, cinnamon, oat milk, MCT oil and black pepper. I also ordered the Hot Chick salad. It came out looking gorgeous. The salad tasted really good, the chicken was seasoned nicely, and I liked the different textures with the rice, the quinoa and the roasted corn. The dressing was super tasty too. When I got towards the end of my salad, my last few pieces of avocado were bad. It wasn't a dealbreaker for my experience, but I would've definitely preferred that they would've left those pieces out. Also, the little toasted cracker things tasted like cardboard, dry and flavorless. I probably should've tried scooping up some of the salad with them, but I left them on the plate. Overall, I would definitely return to this location. You cannot beat them if you are looking for something fast, casual, and healthy. Definitely not on the cheap though, my salad and latte were $34 before tip, but I don't mind paying for good quality food that is fresh and healthy.

This Achilles Coffee is tucked smack dab in the middle of a health-centric mall surrounded by wellness centers, nutritional experts, and yoga studios. The decent sized parking lot is typically busy but has a good churn throughout the day. There's street parking too and the commuter rail nearby for those looking for a light walk. With seating outside on both the ground level and up on the roof, it's a perfect spot to soak in some sun, breathe in the ocean air, and have a sip and a bite in this quiet part of town. The menu here is comprehensive with coffee (espresso, pour overs, cold brew), teas, specialty drinks, as well as breakfast and light bites to pair with a good start to the morning. We primarily came for a coffee run but a few of our team members decided to visit for breakfast the following day and from what I've heard, they're solid with the food! I look forward to coming back to give their bites a try. In theme for Saint Patrick's Day, they had a few special drinks but I opted for a traditional flat white this time. They had milk options but as a traditionalist, I went with whole milk. The coffee had great flavor and balance. The richness was bold and rounded out after every sip. I was tempted to grab a couple bags on my way out but seeing they had free shipping for online orders over $40 (about two bags), I decided to save some luggage space and order some when I was back home. The staff were friendly and efficient. I was impressed how many of them they were able to fit behind the small work area but they were experienced and worked collectively as a team. The drinks were prepared quick and for those liking them hot, you will be pleased with the freshness of that first sip. Overall, Achilles Coffee is a perfect small batch roaster to visit while you're in San Diego to get a great cup of coffee, a breakfast to go with it, and some bags of single origin or blend to bring back home for your own brew. And if you're interested in trying them out before you visit or just looking to restock, consider checking out their website and order from there. They even have a sampler to try their in-season batches. I guess their only Achilles' heel is that there aren't more of them but with five spots all across San Diego county, at least a San Diegan (or visitor) can get a taste of the sweet nectar marketed under this Greek warrior's moniker.
