Liquid Bean is a small coffee cart nestled in a business area on the west side of Del Mar, close to the river walk and near the Free Flight bird sanctuary, making it easy to find with nearby parking. Keep in mind that since it's a coffee cart rather than a full coffee shop, the food menu is on the smaller side. However, they still offer a solid selection including bagels, pastries, a few lunch sandwiches and pre-packaged refrigerated breakfast burritos. From what I understand, it is a woman-owned business. They offer an good variety of coffee drinks, smoothies and acai bowls. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and my latte. While it's great for a quick grab-and-go, there are a couple of tables directly at the cart as well as beautiful, shaded business park seating areas with plenty of benches nearby. It makes for a peaceful spot to sit down, relax, and enjoy your morning coffee. read more

It's always a good idea to support women owned businesses. Found this spot near my hotel and wanted to try it. The Liquid Bean is nestled in a nicely shaded area in a business complex. There are several parking spots, but limited seating. The menu is simple, but they also offer a variety of coffees, I'd never tried before. I also grabbed a breakfast burrito from their fridge and they heat it up after purchase. It was a bit pricey for a refrigerated burrito ($11). The Açaí bowl was refreshing. They also offer coffee cubes instead of ice (love it), but there's an additional .50 charge per cup and the barista didn't mention it when ordering. I noticed the charge after reviewing the receipt. I'd recommend The Liquid Bean when in the Del Mar area. read more

A cute cafe cart in the office park. Turn into the parking lot just before you've "reached your destination" - it's all free and plentiful on the weekends. The Cafe is easy to find. They have a nice variety of pastries, açaí bowl and other food offerings. I got the avo + egg everything bagel, good but nothing too special. I got the Maca Chocolate latte which was non-caffeinated and it was really good! You could taste the quality of the chocolate and it was very soothing and had a smooth flavor. I also got a regular acai bowl which was just okay. I don't know if it was the combination of both the drink and the acai bowl but it was more on the sweet-side for me. this is my favorite little coffee shop, i feel like it's a hidden gem! stumbled upon it one day after an appointment and come back on any day off that i can. it's about 25 minutes away from me but i still make it back a couple times a month. they get their pastries from a local shop and their coffee is really nice. the prices are pretty average in comparison to other non-chain coffee shops, but i always add the coffee cubes for a little extra. it's usually only two baristas in there but they work relatively fast all things considered. i really would rather it take a couple extra minutes to get the quality that they give. they are super sweet and from what I can tell, have a good amount of "regulars" that seem to really love this place. the surrounding area is super cute as well read more

The avocado toast was very nicely plated and prepared. The bagel was toasted just right, came with a spread of cream cheese, with evenly sliced "fresh" avocado, and topped with a wonderful "Everything Seasoning." It was a pleasure to eat.
