Bike Fitting for a gravel bike. Client is riding his bike on a fluid trainer to see the fit adjustments in action.

I went to Paragon Fit Studio for my first-ever bike fit. A friend highly recommended Brian, and I could not be more thankful that he did. At first, I was slightly intimidated, not being a regular cyclist fit. But I'm happy to report the session was highly informative and entertaining. I immediately felt and saw the difference in Brian's tweaks to my bike, shoe cleats, and saddle. Brian is an expert at his craft; he's excellent at explaining precisely what he's adjusting on each iteration and why. Following the appointment, later that week, I went for a 40-mile ride and can report that the issues I felt before the bike fitting was extinguished. I felt balanced and more confident on the bike, both in and out of the saddle. I highly recommend working with Brian at Paragon Fit Studio to get a fit for beginners getting into or back into cycling, those who just got a new bike (like me), or veteran cyclists.

Someone mentioned Brian's name at my local FB group for bike fitting. I contacted Brian to make an appointment and I got lucky and he booked me an appointment right away. It was a much needed bike fit for me. I just upgraded my bike frame and went to a smaller size. After riding 60 miles for the first with the new frame, I'm not gonna lie, I was hurting, that's why I needed to get the bike fit ASAP. Brian did his magic, he made some adjustments on my shoe cleats, (2 pairs) changed the shoe scholes, adjusted the saddle, (he will also measure what's saddle size is best for your bottom) handle bar and brake levers. (I also brought my longer extra stem but according to him, I didn't need it) Also, since this place is a bike store, I purchased a new pedals and he put them on for me Due to the rainy weather in the bay area for couple days, I couldn't ride with the new adjustments right away, but today, (10/27/2021) I finally had the chance to ride, and man oh man, I'm so happy with the outcome. So, if you're looking for a bike fitter in the SF area, contact Brian Keyte, you won't regret it! -Let's put it this way, BIKE FIT IS A MUST! This should be done on day one when you get a new bike.

Two fitted and happy bianchi owners :D

Go for a bike fit and leave with a friend. My experience at Paragon studio was nothing short of exceptional. Not only was my bike fitter, Brian, the nicest guy ever, but he was incredibly knowledgeable and an expert of his craft. When I scheduled my appointment, I thought the overall process of the bike fitting seemed very long. But I quickly realized why it took around 2 hours to complete a full bike fit. Brian is extremely thorough at ensuring every single aspect of your riding position is addressed. I was also asked to discuss any pre-existing issues and concerns I had (for example a torn ACL a year prior) and Brian worked with me to troubleshoot those pain points and help me find a comfortable and safe position for riding. Oh! And not to mention Brian kindly offered beverages and great music to keep us entertained and having a good time :D From a perspective of customer service, I really appreciated how Brian took care in following up with me beyond my fit as well as leaving the door open in case I have any fitting questions or concerns in the future. I live in the East Bay and made the trek over to the city based on his reviews - and I will definitely be coming back with my friends and future bikes!

They sell a kinda of curated goods from a small selection of tools, lubricants, snacks, and gear. I bought some very well fitted gloves there. What really impressed me was the way they operated the store. It got busy at one point and chilled out... then it got busy again, and they did not miss a beat! But on top of all of that, they were servicing bikes that had appointments or walked in, all at the same time! I was able to bring my bike in, but I also saw they had those bike repair racks in the front and back of the store - they're not playing around. I saw someone walk in with their bike listing off a bunch of stuff he wanted to look into fixing, and the staff person in the front immediately threw it on the repair rack and said 'let's take a look'. They also have this roller situation setup in the front where they can take your bike and run it in place to show what it does while in motion. This place means business and they are super friendly! I wish I had something like this closer to home, this store is doing a service to their local community.

I went to Spokeasy to buy an attachment for my bicycle pump, specifically for a dog stroller. Anson…read morekindly offered to pump up the stroller tires for me. My dog was still in the stroller, and I asked multiple times whether I should remove her. I was concerned about the weight on the tires and bearings while he was servicing it, and my dog was visibly uncomfortable with him lifting the stroller while she was inside. He picked up the stroller several times by the front wheel, which seemed awkward at the time. As soon as I left, I realized the front swivel wheel was no longer functioning properly. It now defaults to facing backwards (180°), and the tire rubs against the swivel with every turn. This made it extremely difficult to get my dog home, especially because she has mobility issues. The stroller is not a luxury item for us -- it's something I rely on every single day for my dog, groceries, laundry, and basic errands. When I told my son what happened, he mentioned that he had a similar experience at the same shop a couple of weeks ago. He and a friend brought in a bike with a brake issue. The shop offered to help and didn't charge them, but whatever was done made the bike worse. Sending a kid out with a bike in worse condition than it came in is a safety issue, especially since my son recently had a serious fall due to a mechanical problem. I understand that Spokeasy didn't charge us for these services, but free work still needs to be safe and competent. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. For these reasons, I can only give Spokeasy one star.
