Had been putting off getting my bike tire replaced for ages because I just did not know how much of a "thing" it would be but I finally took my bike into Valencia Cyclery and they were able to replace the tire for me in minutes and for such an alarmingly affordable price. Friendly, fast service. Will be back for future bike needs read more

Had the pleasure of talking with Joe in the bike store. He was patient and friendly with me as I took several bikes out on test rides, answered all my questions, and made several adjustments to height and angle of the bike seat. He even advised me on some nearby places I could donate my old bike (Bike Kitchen, Salvation Army). Only 4 stars because the repair shop two doors down was a bit curt with me. I brought my old bike in for repair and was immediately told I should just get a new bike, and I felt like I had to pry a bit to understand why. Fortunately I was able to step outside and call my cyclist friend who confirmed that what they were saying made sense, but my initial conversation made me feel like I was being upsold. read more

Bought some grips for my bike. Kinda young guys maybe upset he doesn't get paid enough because he charged me 8 bucks to use the compressor to get the grips on. Kinda lame imo like it's not that hard to use an air compressor and blow These grips on bro. read more

Luca went above and beyond to try to find what I was looking for, which was very specific. He was incredibly patient with my anxiety and stress, and understood why I had such strict parameters. In the end, after thoughtfully putting me on multiple test rides, he recommended a bike that turned out to be sold out, but directed me to where I could get it. Talk about classy! The entire staff was very supportive of the painful journey I put them through this past week. Huge thanks to all!! read more

Purchased a bike rack here this weekend and the sales people were so incredibly kind and informative, practicing caution not to sell me something that wasn't gonna work for my car. Turns out it worked perfectly and my family and I are very grateful. They also matched a manufacturers Black Friday sale without me even asking so the price was especially right. My next stop will be getting myself a bicycle from there. read more

Throughout the decades, I've always purchased my bikes from Valencia Cyclery. Just made a few new purchases and the staff made sure I was completely satisfied with my new purchase. The staff were very knowledgeable and informative on the bikes I looked at and what would be best for my riding needs. Valencia Cyclery is the best! read more

Most bullshit pricing anywhere in SF. Go here if you you're idiot that has no idea what they're doing on a bike that wants to overpay for the simplest things possible. This shop is such a disappointment I have no idea how they're still in business. read more

I have to agree with previous reviews about the customer service experience. Unfortunately, Leslie from Masterchef over there was not helpful during my visit. It felt as though answering our questions and asking if we can test ride bikes was more of an inconvenience for him. He came across as dismissive and condescending, almost as if we were interrupting him while he was working on another customer's bike behind the counter. Frankly, he doesn't seem suited for a customer service or any role that deals with people. When spending over a thousand dollars on a bike, I expect to have at least some of my questions answered, even if they seem basic. I would have appreciated some courtesy and professionalism. I was genuinely interested in making a purchase that day, but his attitude made me choose not to. Adding a star because they have a nicer bike selection than other bike shops read more

The mechanics (especially Peter) at Valencia Cyclery are always helpful , do great work and have solved countless issues for me and my bikes. 10/10 read more

The boys in the BMX shop were super knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely helpful. I will be going back there for all my local BMX needs!

If you ever need a flat tire repaired, or anything else for that matter, try Valencia Cyclery on duh, Valencia Street. There's this one dude there, Danilo, super chill, who painstakingly removes each piece of Glass from the tire with a tweezers, like a medic on the front line removing shrapnel from a perfect thigh. Dude Cody takes the orders and man's the front door, while Commander in Chief Peter oversees it all. Sometimes, I puncture my own tire so I have a reason to go there and bask in their bike life vibe. read more

This review is for Nathan! Came by (kind of) already knowing what I wanted.. but he was such a help! He brought out of a couple of bike options for me to test ride and gave me a full run down of what I should expect from both. I bought the bike he showed me and came back the next day for pick up. He helped me install the bike rack to my car as well. Thanks for your help, Nathan! Would def recommend anyone bike shopping or just need accessories / repairs / tune ups to come here :) read more

I visited the shop and had to adjust the angle of my saddle and tighten the tension on my chain(fixie/track bike) pretty much just needed to use an allen wrench for 5 minutes max. Come to find out the store doesn't allow customers to use a tool to fix the bike(despite every other shop allows it) I thought when the mechanic brought the allen wrench he'd help fix her up but instead misheard my directions when corrected dude said "your asking for too much" Anybody considering this shop don't. Instead tap in with Box Dog Bikes on 14th and Guerrero folks are nice as heck, let you borrow a tool and heck teach you some game on maintenance Don Rafa is also a dope spot too!!! read more

Great store. Lito was great and very helpful. I bought my trek bike here and everyone was helpful and very nice. Knowledgeable staff.

I just had a great experience at Valencia Cyclery! I was assisted by Nathan and he was super helpful and extremely knowledgeable. I am a very big dude and I wanted to make sure I got something sturdy, that looked great and that didn't break the bank and Nathan was able to pick something out for me that was perfect! They had a ton of bikes to choose from and their location is perfect because Valencia street has a new two lane bike lane right in the middle of the street and I was able to take the bike for a test ride before I bought it! He also air up the tires, tightened the breaks and put on a wider more cushioned seat for my big ass LOL Great service, great selection. Kudos to VC! read more

I went in with the intent of buying a Trek FX 2, but after speaking with Robert about what I was looking for he recommended a different model that fit my needs much better. He was extremely helpful and had answers to all my questions which helped me feel super well-informed before making a decision. I never felt pressured into buying anything and it was obvious that he just wanted to help me make the best decision based on my needs. Shoutouts to Robert; Super helpful, knowledgeable, and all-around nice dude. He helped me out so much that I'd be committing treason if I didn't buy a bike from the shop. read more

A couple days ago I brought in my ebike to discuss special ordering a new groupset for it because the chain on my current set up was skipping despite my best efforts to fix it. A man with Glasses and tattoos guided me through all of my options. He was very knowledgeable on everything from parts to maintenance, but above all he was extremely patient. We talked through at least three or four different options I could've gone with that required a budget anywhere from under $100 two above $500. He gave my bike a quick inspection and ultimately just recommended that I take it apart, clean it, and put it back together with the proper torque on everything. He told me this after maybe 15 minutes of talking and he even said he didn't want to sell me anything that I didn't need. I respect this level of honesty and clear priority over making money. I could have easily bought a bunch of parts I didn't need had he not given my bike a visual inspection. When I got home I took apart my bike, cleaned all the parts, put it back together, and when I rode it after this, I noticed a dramatic improvement in how my drive train performed. read more

Wonderful local shop with efficient customer service. I was looking forward to purchasing a bike here after finding it online and driving 2 hours to purchase it. DONT DONT GO HERE. Unfortunately, the customer service was poor. I'm new at cycling and may not fit the description but I was serious about purchasing. The man with the long hair at the front said hello I asked a question and he came over to help. I felt that this person did not want to answer questions and wasn't feeling it. Every question I asked he would repeat it as if it was a dumb question to ask. Answered a question with a question. If your the expert share some information. Be kind and make customers feel great. I left and will never return. Your business lost out on two bike sales. Again I made it a trip to come here, only to be dismissed as a customer. read more

This is my 1st time and last time to let them take care of my mountain bike. I left my bike for them to cut the handle bar shorter. I called and asked for price. They told me $20 to do that and I thought it was reasonable considering my favorite bike shop charge me only $15 before but they are in Concord. So I drove there, they took a look at it and told me it would be $30 because there were a lot of stuff mounted on the handlebar that they had to do extra work. What stuff? I only had a bike bell besides the usual grips and brakes and shifters. Don't you have remove those before cutting my handlebar? My favorite shop charged me only $15 to cut the handlebar TWICE without raising the price! Not only that, they took my bike out for joy ride afterwards. Why I know you ask? Because the rubber rings on both front shock and rear suspension were pushed so far they almost bottoms out. I never ride my bike this hard. You don't need to test drive my bike if you only cut the handlebar. Not only that, they made me wait 2 days before I can pick it up. My favorite shop took only 30 minutes while I was waiting and they didn't take my bike for joy ride. Guys, take your business elsewhere. Trust me. It's not worth it. read more

Definitely check out this bike shop if you're ever in the Mission! The team is super friendly + knowledgeable. Super helpful and friendly staff! COVID-19 procedures keep their staff and everyone safe! Came in for some spare tires after my first SF flat and even with my rare 80s Japanese bike they had the tires/tubes I needed. With the age of my bike I had a hard time calling around for my tire size. The staff that helped me on the phone was by the far the most knowledgeable out of the tons of other places in SF that I had called. They recommended bringing in my rim to ensure that they wouldn't sell me something that wouldn't fit, given the specifics of my bike. Had an issue with replacing my tires so came back and the staff was incredibly helpful and fast. Highly recommend this place for all of your bike needs! read more

Great customer care! I went into the repair shop this weekend, as my bike was in pretty rough condition, and Denilo was terrific! He knew exactly what was the trouble, he wasn't pushy or sale-sy and I will keep coming back to the shop for repairs, parts and when it's time to upgrade from analog to ebike, I'll shop here first. #golocal. I bought my bike at Valencia Cyclery several years ago. The deal was that I would buy the bike if they could help me to install an electric wheel on it. The owner wasn't there I guess and the manager at that time helped me. I was then able to go to work for several years. I also went another time to change my tires. Few weeks ago, my tire blew up. I went to see them. At my surprised, the owner was there this time. He denied to help me because of the electric wheel and treated me as a liar??? It was very weird, unpleasant and unprofessional. I had to walk my bike back home. A friend told me to go to Dog Bike Shop, on 14th St. Not only they received me very well but their work is outstanding. They made my bike so much better and it works now like a charm, so I guess it was a good thing that Valencia Cyclery Owner showed his true face and lack of humanity that day. Si vous êtes Francais, je déconseille fortement cet établissement. Il y a un autre bike shop quelques rues plus loin avec une bien meilleure qualité de service, un accueil chaleureux et beaucoup plus de compétences. read more

Was here on a Sunday afternoon. The people here were very friendly and warm. The guy that helped me didn't force a sale. These guys are the best with customer service. They will treat you well, are super chill, give lots of options. don't try to pressure or up-sell. They value your relationship and treat regulars well.
