Cool little cafe/cycling store. They got a cafe in the front and a table inside for you to chill and have a pit stop. They sell cycling gear in the back that seems to be mostly Rapha with a smaller selection of curated items. I didn't see any components or tools for sale so it's mainly clothing/on-body gear. In the cafe, they also have tea, sparkling water and soda, I opted for a Mexican coke! The best part is that they are super friendly and have parking inside for your bike! read more

I walked in here hesitantly, unsure what I was looking for. I knew I wanted to purchase a jersey as a gift, but I had not idea what to look for. Georges walked me through all of the jerseys, explaining the features of each line. He was very upfront about pricing and made sure I had all the information I needed to choose the proper jersey. I felt very welcomed in the store, even though I'm not a part of the cycling community! Unfortunately I purchased the wrong size, so I headed back to the store for an exchange. Anki helped me look for a larger size, but the location was out of stock. She looked up other locations that had the item I wanted, and she gave me as much information as she could to help me secure the new size. She was so friendly and helpful, and she made sure to return my item at full price, as it had gone on sale since I purchased it. I called the New York store (also great customer service) and they were able to have the item shipped directly to my house. Overall, I have had great experiences with the Rapha community, and I will definitely be back to buy gifts in the future. Thanks team Rapha for all of your help this holiday season! read more

Ok (1) despite its reputation for designer wear rapha is actually reasonably well priced for women's bike wear once you examine the fabric & features. It's rare to find women's jerseys at this price point and quality. Women's versions of jerseys have zippered pockets which are weird details other women specific companies remove for the comparabie version of the men's. and (2) rapha doesn't do this thing where they do a kickass colorway for the men's line then a totally scary and universally ugly color way for women and then you have to only buy black. I still don't get this practice but I guess it either sells and American women aren't Milan fashionistas with a good grasp of design history. What's weird is they let you custom design your jersey if you want but of all the cycling lines for women in the industry you really don't need to because they generally have great color ways and designs for women. In fact the colors aren't different from the men's! So no need to only buy black Most athleisure makes me look like a stuffed sausage and I'm considered fit for an American. I'm a little chubby in France or Italy but that's another matter ! But the rapha size small is super flattering without being baggy on me and it's just nice to have access to beautiful materials and colors as a woman as the women specific stuff is frankly pretty frightening in most women's athletic wear . I definitely don't trust the women who give feedback to most sports companies but the ones at rapha seem to be not design impaired. They also don't do this thing where they try to force me to have a womanly waist figure (I don't really have one so that rules! It's just great quality stuff for a decent price. It's worth it - not as cheap as fast fashion or course but it works hard for its money. And it totally functions on 40 mile bike rides through mud on a mountain bike even when it's made for road cyclists! read more

I love Rapha. This is a great location to start a ride across the golden gate bridge. If you're visiting from out of town this is a great starting point. I love their coffee and their rental fleet here. Parking is my only complaint as it tends to be busy around here but other than that this is a great store that has been around for quite some time. Their gear is top notch. If you get to SF and you think it is warm like Los Angeles you can pick up a high quality jacket here. The bibs and jackets are rapha are fantastic. read more

Without a doubt, This place is worthy of the product, while being a good spokesperson for the sport and products. The staff is casually authentic and helpful. Assuming you know the product and the nuances of buying tight, clothing that must function as what they were designed for, then you know that it would be near impossible to walk in and buy your significant a gift. Unless they tell you their size in this company! The store/hangout/cafe or whatever is just like a club atmosphere. I give this a 5 star without them trying. This place has a cafe?! I am no cyclist (maybe some day), but I totally respect the Rapha clubhouse concept. The almond milk latte I ordered was awesome. Thanks Adam. I was pretty impressed by the sheer variety of Rapha branded products. The service was friendly, too. I enjoyed sitting out on the quirky clubhouse bench outside the clubhouse. As it was explained to me, the cafe is a place where cyclists gather. It's also an homage of sorts to the Italian heritage of cycling (think espresso). Looking forward to returning. read more

Rapha has been my coffee stop for the better part of 7 years and it's still my favorite in town. Perhaps it's because I'm a moderate cycling enthusiast but, either way it's a great stop for a proper pull of espresso on my way to the office downtown. The best part about this place is the parklet outside on a sunny day. There's plenty of seating and offers different tiers, depending on how you want to consume your cup of joe. They recently changed their roaster from Four Barrel to Bicycle Coffee from Oakland and it's a little bit of a downgrade but, not enough to knock this place down to 4 stars...I love it. read more

This place is amazing. I always get a latte when I go, and it is easily one of the best in the city in my opinion. The staff is also quite friendly. John has helped me in the past, but I have also had terrific service from the others in the shop. But perhaps my favorite part of this shop is that you are meant to bring your bike inside. They even have several wheel slots to park your bike. Most bikes inside are actually really nice, so you can definitely spend a lot of time just admiring the bikes that people park inside. This shop also sells Rapha gear for biking. It is pretty pricey, but from my understanding, it is some of the highest quality stuff out there. I ponied up for a set of arm warmers for $50, and I absolutely love them. I actually fell while riding my bike not too long ago. Every article of clothing I was wearing was damaged with at least a rip somewhere. My arm warmers, however, were unscathed. Maybe it was the way that I fell, but I am going to keep telling myself that it was because of their quality. I can safely say that I love everything about this place from the atmosphere to the gear to the drinks! read more

I really like this place for several reasons. I can get a good advice from Alan (he helped me on 2 different occasions), try different sizes (jerseys and gloves- dressing room is still closed, but you have 3 months to return unused items so you can try them at home. Not as convenient, but better then buying on line and returning on line). Everything is designed and made very well. I just wish that if I am paying $270 for bib shorts from European company, they were not made in China... It's more of a boutique store with a coffee shop inside. They don't really carry a variety of sizes at least my size since I'm on the bigger end of Rapha kits. As far as the employees go I don't mind if I have to go to them and ask a question when I need to and hate it when I'm looking around and get asked several times if I need help. They're fine and very helpful when asked. The awesome thing they do is group rides. There fun and very well thought out. Rapha is expensive so don't bother going in and looking for a deal, it's better got go online to shop but they have quality products. read more

I wouldn't necessarily consider myself to be a coffee snob, but OH. MY. GOD. Rapha has THE best coffee in sf. WAY better than that burnt brown water at the roastery up the block. I've become so spoiled by working down the street from them that on my days off I honestly consider commuting an hour from the outer mission to the marina just for the coffee. Everyone that works there is so friendly and down to earth, it's a pleasure to see them every day! I know nothing about cycling, but I assume they know what they're talking about on that front too. Oh my, lovely! We went in here after our only bad food experience (won't mention here but already reviewed!). After a glorious week in San Fran, we didn't want to end on a bad taste. Our first visit here meant ending with a good taste! It's rare for me to drink cappuccino as 1. People don't make it right 2. I only like it for breakfast, or even before breakfast, the way the Italian coffee Gods intended! But as I was trying to forget the breakfast I just had, this was a fitting way to re-boot my day. It worked a trick! It was slow service on a Saturday late morning, despite there being 2 staff for just a handful of seats inside and outside. (This is after all a cycle shop - what's with all these cycling coffee shops? I went to one in Vancouver too!). I wouldn't call the staff happy either (what's with that too? Seen it in so many indie coffee houses in the city!) but the coffee was good, the service courteous and l loved that the regulars have actual mugs with their names on. My (cyclist) husband is in love with this place! I just nailed my Christmas gift to him which was an annual membership to the RCC. With the membership you get access to rent their sick bikes (for a small fee), free coffee and lots of other little perks. I came in to shop for him and had no idea about their club membership. The sweet guy working there could tell I had no idea what to purchase and very kindly described it to me! The shop has beautiful clothing and accessories for cycling. There is a cafe and lovely seating upstairs. All the people that work there are friendly and not the typical pretentious cycling types. I am so excited to have my husband enjoy his membership to the RCC in 2017! read more

Strictly a review for the coffee portion. Good coffee, ritual chocolate, good selection of drinks and pastry and quiche, and a friendly barista. Only thing is it's kind of a disappointment to get a $6 10 oz iced mocha when the chocolate isn't mixed in well. There were just chunks of it all at the bottom of the cup. If its not going to be properly mixed into the espresso so that it melts, I'd suggest getting a squeeze bottle and shaking the chocolate with a little hot water to make a syrup. That's what we did with Tcho chocolate at shops I used to work in and it makes everything easy. The chocolate gets integrated and you don't have to mix anything! read more

Needed a little java fast while staying in the neighborhood. A local passerby pointed to Rapha - just 7 steps away. I had passed it a couple of times but presumed it was simply a bike shop. Turned out that and coffee/tea/pastries. Trendy and feels-good kind of place. Most patrons appeared to be cyclists. Ideal location. 2 miles or so from Golden gate and my favorite neighborhood - Marina. If in the neighborhood, check it out, definitely if you are a cyclist. Otherwise, snack/drinks are pretty average. 5 star because of location and worldwide chapters - neat way to explore places and know locals if you ask me. read more

Rapha's reputation for snobbery isn't actually true. It's NOT snobbery, because snobbery means that their level of tune and knowledge is so advanced, that they cannot help but critique and hold their head to a higher level of consciousness/expectation. And really, snobbery is with good intentions. See Bike Snob NYC, for example. Instead, what a cyclist will get at Rapha is pricing out of line for spandex and synthetic fabric combined with the poorest customer service (if you can define sitting or standing while doing nothing in an empty store as customer service). Surly is a good trait, but do not credit Rapha with snobbery, surly behavior, or attitude. These are traits above the poor representation of "customer service" that is at the core of Rapha's poor reputation. Rapha isn't a creator of culture or of product, it's a phony. I've never seen or heard of a cycle club, bike product related store, that doesn't allow you to have your bike along with you while shopping. And in an empty store? Restaurants, cafes, Levi's downtown SF packed on a black Friday, for crying out loud!!! They allow bikes inside. Blonde guy, blonde girl, you fail. Not bike friendly? You will not get my business. Pretentiousness and snobbery are Rapha's reputation that I hear repeated from well respected cyclists that actually ride. However, two visits in a row experiencing poor service or a lack of retail environment commerce ability are so repulsive to my taint that I have to a) let you know to avoid this place and b) assure that I will never step foot in this fake cycling club again. Do not let the posters on the walls gain any trust that Rapha creates culture. The best offering to the tight knit cycling community that this "cycle club" offers is the public domain/access parklet in front. Deuces and please fall off the face of the Earth, soon. read more

Dissed by Rapha - someone should use this for a standup routine! Looking at some of the latest posts I am glad it's not just me feeling this way! I used to like swinging by here for a coffee and a tasty pastry treat (like all the time). I even bought some cool gifts for cycle friends, but the atmosphere definitely changed, since the early days when Rapha moved to town. There used to be "grown ups" working there (& a nice gal, too), but these days It feels like the store is run by a bunch of too-cool-for-school kids who could care less about customer service or product experience. And mind you, Rapha products do not come cheap! What's with store staff not interrupting some oh-so important hipster story while a potential customer (& obivous cyclist) is scanning the store for product help? What's with hipster mustache guy rolling eyes behind another customer's back [for all to see!] - a customer who is in the process of purchasing a jersey & a pair of gloves? Just two scenes observed while sipping my last cappuccino the other day and unfortunately the list could go on ... So, farewell, Rapha Cycle Club. Rapha has either saved me or ruined me on cycling jerseys -- after buying a few of their club jerseys and getting used to the merino material, I just can't wear the lycra any more, and the usual style of cycle-wear -- looking a bit like a cross between a nascar driver and a candy bar -- just feels ridiculous. The softshell jacket is first-rate as well. The SF Rapha store is also the only place I know that still carries ROULEUR magazine, now that Palo Alto Bikes has let go of it. Stopped in for a coffee at this combo cycle club-cafe-bikewear-bookstore. A unique setup for all things bicycular. I enjoyed a very good latte (Four Barrell Coffee), and shopped the impressive bikewear - a little pricey, but good to see they have functional bike shirts that are not offensive logowear. You can park your bike inside. They were showing the Giro d-Italia bike race and have free internet. Let's hope they can make a go of it, as they are great addition to the neighborhood. read more
