Devynn, Timothy and the rest of the crew at Mike's SF are my #1 go-to's in the Bay Area. They've helped me out in a pinch countless times. From helping me with last minute maintenance for a ride from SF to Mexico, advocating for me with warranty claims, or just a simple derailleur tune - they've done it all. Go nowhere else.

Am in the market for a bike right now and stopped by Mikes since they had the bike in eyeing in stock. Ike and Aaron were super friendly and educational. Came in about 45 minute before closing and thought i'd get some push back/rudeness but that wasn't the case. Thanks for the great service!

Great customer service! I arrived early and was acknowledged that I needed service as soon as they opened. And right on time which is much appreciated. They were able to educate me about my new bike, adjust the seat and make sure my tires were good to go since I assumed I had a flat tire. With COVID-19 currently happening, it's nice to know that their services are an essential since riding a bicycle is my new form of transportation. Thanks Mikes Bi

I took in my single speed SE Lager because I got a flat, my bike has Thick Slick tires and thought it would be a quick service. I should have known from the vibe I got from the employees that these people didn't care. The wait was minimal and didn't have to wait in line too long. They took my bike and came back in 15 mins. Everything looked fine but my mistake was not checking the bike vigorously, I rode off and I noticed something was wrong, as I made a turn the chain popped off! and the back wheel was off center! how could this happen with so many "mechanics" on sight. I must admit I was angry because out of the four people that were there the person that didn't touch my bike ended up fixing it. DO NOT give this place your business there is plenty of other bike shops in the city, this on unfortunately fell off the deep end. I got home and my tire was flat again, you guys are a joke.

Wow, I just noticed I haven't written a review about this location of Mikes Bikes, even though I come here all the time to get my bike tuned. I bought my bike at their San Rafael location 4 Years ago and luckily signed up for their 5-year plan, where you can get your bike maintained as much as you need. It's been a great deal, especially since I'm a total loser when it comes to any kind of bike fixes...I even come to them to help me repair a flat! Anyways, since I work in downtown SF, I frequent this location now for all my repair works as well as when I need some kind of equipment. Their staff is always so very helpful and explain to me everything they do. I've also been doing the AIDS/Lifecycle for the past few years and I really enjoy their discounts for participants. Plus, they're a big sponsor of the event, which makes me like them even more.

This is not even me! But check out the response!! "Sorry buddy. But you are not important..." Same one I got below.

If you want to be disappointed, definitely order something online from Mike's Bikes San Francisco. They will email you that your part arrived, then put it on another bike and email you back that they never got it. I should have checked Facebook first - the reviews are tragic. These guys do the exact same thing to other people - mail them that their bikes (or parts) ship and then ghost them and then eventually lose the item and refund.

Are there any businesses that provide a bike wash?

Are they open during COVID SiP?

Yes, they are open during COVID SiP, you just can't walk in. They will serve you at the door. Regular hours might differ, check their website and/or call them.

I wish to know if they have stock SHIMANO DURA-ACE SM-BTR1 D12 battery?

You should probably send them a message or give them a call.

They sell a kinda of curated goods from a small selection of tools, lubricants, snacks, and gear. I bought some very well fitted gloves there. What really impressed me was the way they operated the store. It got busy at one point and chilled out... then it got busy again, and they did not miss a beat! But on top of all of that, they were servicing bikes that had appointments or walked in, all at the same time! I was able to bring my bike in, but I also saw they had those bike repair racks in the front and back of the store - they're not playing around. I saw someone walk in with their bike listing off a bunch of stuff he wanted to look into fixing, and the staff person in the front immediately threw it on the repair rack and said 'let's take a look'. They also have this roller situation setup in the front where they can take your bike and run it in place to show what it does while in motion. This place means business and they are super friendly! I wish I had something like this closer to home, this store is doing a service to their local community.

My dog was still in the stroller, and I asked multiple times whether I should remove her. I was concerned about the weight on the tires and bearings while he was servicing it, and my dog was visibly uncomfortable with him lifting the stroller while she was inside. He picked up the stroller several times by the front wheel, which seemed awkward at the time. As soon as I left, I realized the front swivel wheel was no longer functioning properly. It now defaults to facing backwards (180°), and the tire rubs against the swivel with every turn. This made it extremely difficult to get my dog home, especially because she has mobility issues. The stroller is not a luxury item for us -- it's something I rely on every single day for my dog, groceries, laundry, and basic errands. When I told my son what happened, he mentioned that he had a similar experience at the same shop a couple of weeks ago. He and a friend brought in a bike with a brake issue. The shop offered to help and didn't charge them, but whatever was done made the bike worse. Sending a kid out with a bike in worse condition than it came in is a safety issue, especially since my son recently had a serious fall due to a mechanical problem. I understand that Spokeasy didn't charge us for these services, but free work still needs to be safe and competent. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. For these reasons, I can only give Spokeasy one star.
