This was our first visit to this resort. We found certain lack of attention to detail. To start with, there was what looked like cigarette burns on the bathroom vanity. The lights above the bed did not work. The toilet also seemed to work sluggishly. The lights and toilet were mentioned and we were told that maintenance would look into it but they never came. We also found the bathroom sink was also somewhat clogged as the water took a long time to drain. Nothing a little draino wouldn't clear up. Another point of lack of attention to detail was the rail/fence outside our room was missing a cap on top of the post. The shower was a big however was a safety issue as no grab bar installed. The risk of someone falling was definitely there. In addition, this was an open shower with no shower door. This was a bit unnerving as this is a new "design" which we've never seen. My husband has been recovering from a broken hip and so safety was a big concern. With regard to the dining room service, we observed a definite lack of attention. For example: Spoons for coffee, etc were missing more often than not. Also when looking to request a simple second cup of coffee the server either took a long time to come or didn't come at all. Another instance was upon opening the napkin to remove the utensils there were 2 forks and no knife. In addition, with regard to menu itself, we'd suggest a wider variety such as turkey, burgers, or pot roast with potatoes and vegetables for those guests that cannot tolerate a spiced up/fancier menu. The room was nice. However, it had a drop down livingroom which would be fine except there was nothing "marker" to indicate the drop. My husband and I put the two white wastebaskets at either end so as to be sure not to fall. Lastly, there was no in house cafe to sit and order/have lunch which is not included. While we were advised we could order food to be delivered to our room, there would be an additional charge. We have now been to all three resorts, Cove Have, Pocono Palace and Paradise Stream. Yes, It looks like its from the 70s, thats part of the fun! Its been recently renovated so the room still felt clean and updated. We got a groupon for a lakeside villa and were upgraded (for free!) to a room with a pool. The food was good! We got all inclusive breakfast buffet and dinner. We also had lunch at the bar there, not included but yummy. There was SO many activities. If you get the all inclusive package you can also do activities at the other resorts (although its about a 30 min drive) 4 stars because it was a little overpriced. read more

My review will be somewhat limited since this is an all inclusive resort and we skipped the inclusive part. However, while the rooms did feel a bit dated and the place could definitely use some updating, our overall impression was very good. This was a nice, romantic, resort for a weekend in the mountains. Do a search for romantic resorts, poconos, and the three Cove Haven resorts come up. All 3 are meant for couples only as they do not allow kids. For me, the choice came down to Paradise Stream and one of the other two based on location. I don't recall which one I eliminated but I think Paradise was near Camelback and another was closer to Shawnee while a third seemed out in the middle of nowhere. In the end, I chose Paradise because it had a room I liked for a reasonable price that included a fireplace. I also liked the look of the nightclub at Paradise, though I do remember it not being my favorite. However, I didn't let that change my mind because if you book one of their resort, then you have access to the other 2, and therefore, I just figured we'd check them all out. You are given the option of choosing the room with the all inclusive package (meals) or just the room. When we travel, we don't like staying at just the hotel and like to check out local restaurants, so the all inclusive option wasn't for us. Besides, this isn't like a resort where there are 5 or 6 restaurant options - they have 1 restaurant and every dinner is a buffet of a different theme (not sure about the other meals, but I assume they are similar). Their customer service is excellent. I spoke to them on the phone a couple of times and everyone was very helpful, as was everyone at the front desk. We did ask for an extra blanket that never arrived until we called back 2 hours later and a different person had it delivered immediately, but that wasn't a big deal and customer service was otherwise terrific. I have to tell you, I started this review months and months ago and saved it to finish later. It is now too much later, and I don't remember everything I was going to say, so the rest of this review may be a bit less descriptive. The room was very nice. Large bed, very big bathroom with a shower and a Jacuzzi tub, and the fireplace in front of a couch. There was also a patio, but it was winter and freezing so the patio was not used. You could order logs from the front desk, but what they give you are essentially 2 or 4 hour "starter" logs, and thats it. I don't think you're even allowed to bring in regular wood, and the logs they provide aren't cheap. However, for a couple of hours in front of the fireplace, it was fine and very cozy. Bed was comfortable. Shower was awesome. Keep in mind though that these rooms are meant for couples - this is an adults only resort - so the rooms have some features that you would kind of expect to only find in a couples resort from the 60s or 70s. Let's just say the shower doesn't offer much in the way of privacy from the rest of the room - and there are mirrors where you would expect there to be mirrors in a resort built in the 70s. Here's what you need to remember - it's an old resort. Some of the rooms could definitely use an upgrade. A lot of the clientele was older. However, if you keep that in mind, you can really enjoy yourself here. We found it comfortable and quiet and romantic and close to everywhere we wanted to go. It wasn't the Four Seasons. It may not have even been the Three Seasons. But it was a nice place to spend a weekend and I would definitely stay here again. read more

After reading so many negative reviews I was extremely hesitant to come to paradise stream. After experiencing it myself I see that some of those reviews are true, but despite that fact I think it's best to experience the place for yourself and decide if it's worth it. While I don't regret coming I don't think I would come back for a 2nd time. The resort is outdated, the pool inside our room had some rustiness. The sheets had some minor stains which seemed to be poor laundry service. The bed was very comfortable and spacious; the room was clean. We did the all-inclusive which included breakfast and dinner (lunch is not included). Breakfast was buffet style and it's the same options every day. Dinner options were themed based on the day and the food was pretty good. The overall layout of the room was cozy and cute. The clientele during our stay were predominantly older couples. The staff was welcoming; there were fun activities and excursions to do. So overall the resort wasn't exactly my cup of tea but for something local enough to the tri-State area...It might be the place. read more

Oh, Paradise Stream - where do we start? The incredibly dank smell? Or maybe the half-roll of toilet paper we were allotted for the entire weekend? I'll start with simply - the beginning. After a late check-in (we were coming from the D.C. area) we were so excited to open the door to the room that my wife and I had been fantasizing about since AT LEAST 1988. The Heart-Shaped pool! The Round Bed! And the CHAMPAGNE Jacuzzi! Erh Merh Gherd - we couldn't WAIT! Then, we open the door to what smelled like the Motel 6, albeit a large apartment-sized Motel 6. It was SOOOO dank! It smelled like my Aunt's old Delta 88 with cloth seats after she forgot to roll-up the windows and the seats got moist and mixed a little with the cigarette butts in the door panel. But hey...no big deal, right? Crank that A/C up a bit and we shouldn't even notice! Toured the room a little and simply put - we couldn't WAIT to get in that amazing Champagne Tower! Start the hot water, throw in a little bubble bath, and turn up the Luther Vandross because it's about to get just a little more dank up in here! (Okay, maybe TMI - but I'm trying to paint a picture here.) Order food from Spooner's Grille (they have wine despite only showing beer on the menu, btw - just gotta ask) and we are really anticipating mixing hummus and a steak and cheese with the Merlot we were planning on slamming down like a gavel in Judge Judy's hands. Food and fuel - CHECK. From the lower level, we looked up to see the water level to make sure we weren't going to make too much splish-splash and soak the lower level. "Yeah, baby...it looks like it's about to go dow...wait, what is that?" We creep up to the bottom of the Jacuzzi to find a personalized Band-Aid floating in the tub. Oh yeah...personalized to someone, unequivocally and beyond a shadow of a doubt if CSI wanted to check for its owner. Well...looks like the Champagne Tower is a No-Go for the night. No worries - there's a sauna in the pool area and since I can't get that Moist Heat, I'm about to dry out and really get things...Medium Rare and cooked over-hard, if you catch my drift. (See what I did?) I'll just use the Steam Shower and get this a little hot and wet, eh? Bow-chicka-wow-wow. I flip that switch like I'm flicking on, well...whatever. And like so many people, unlike me because I'm no loser, despite me flicking on the switch - NOTHING HAPPENS. No steam. I hear something, but nothing is coming out. Called down to the Front Desk again, and yeah..."We disabled those things years ago." Really? Maybe things got a little TOO hot and steamy for someone and it was simply too much to include in the experience for liability purposes. Head down to the sauna. Moist heat is overrated anyway, right? Turn that sauna on and start waiting. 5min, 7min, 10min...waiting. Listening for a hiss. Nothing. Damn, Sauna is in-op too. Cool. At least you can't really mess up the heart shaped pool. Fortunately, the pool endeavor went off without a hitch. Time for bed. Luther Vandross and Prince blessed us from the Heaven's with some real jams. We wake up to start exploring after our complimentary breakfast. There's all sorts of activities at the resort! Archery, so I can practice shooting my love arrows with the accuracy of Cupid (take that how you will), Mini-Golf because I'm trying to work on this Hole in One, and Basketball, because I'm about to dunk on that ass! Wait...mini-golf is really just a few platforms of green turf with a hole in them, and the basketball rims are hanging onto the backboard as if Shaquille O'Neal just did a Gatorade commercial and bankrupted the set. Looks like our "resort activities" are going to be cut a bit. Went back in the room to tidy up a bit. Cleanliness is next to godliness, right? Went to throw our food trays away since Room Service didn't during Room Service time. No big deal. Maybe they thought we were still working on the hummus and sandwich despite all of the trash being stuffed in the trays. Walk over to throw them in the bin and what do I see? What could only be a splattering of vomit going across the walls into the space where the trash can is located. Maybe some love-struck couple had a little too much vino and tried to get it all into the can at least. Maybe there was an attempt at cleaning the wall. Or maybe, that splatter came from some couple in the late 1980's and the residual coloring was just too much to deal with and it slowly dissipated throughout the decades. I would say that this person could've simply went to the toilet area to vomit, but I realize that they probably would've been just as fine using the bin since there's only a half-roll of toilet paper for the couples to use throughout the weekend. Maybe there was some serious rationing going on after Ghostbusters was released. All in all, it wasn't "that" bad. We DID get to live out an 80's fantasy, so we have that going for us. read more

I was really looking forward to this mini getaway, as I have always wanted to visit. Upon arriving, there was only one person at the front desk, who was very friendly, but a line about 10 deep to check-in. Once we were assigned our room, it went downhill. When we entered the room, the overall odor of mildew was awful. The light switches are placed all over the room in a weird setup. The light for the hot tub area was in the entryway, the jacuzzi switch was located around the corner, and one switch didn't even work. There was water all over the bathroom floor as if someone had just "mopped". We turned the fan on to try and get air circulating to dry up the floor. Hours later, water was still on the floor. I used a washcloth and wiped up the water, and OMG!! The white washcloth was black from all the dirt on the floor. While we're in the bathroom, let me just say, eww. The toilet paper holder was from something of a 1970s truck stop. It was rusted and barely kept the toilet paper in the correct position. There were many patched-up holes in the wall, dirt in the corners, mildew, and mold on the walls. There was a weird-looking heater that was set inside the wall. It looked really sketchy, didn't turn it on, but there was filth all in the vents. The shower was nice, had good water pressure, and wasn't dirty. Probably the only thing updated in the entire place. The faucet to the sink was not properly attached to the counter either. The bed was very uncomfortable and because the room was not ventilated properly, the linens were damp. The bedroom area had a fireplace, though we didn't use it. The carpet had a rather large stain, gross. When using the jacuzzi, black specks from the jets were spewing into the tub. Again, gross. The pool was nice. The water temperature was just right. The carpet was moldy though, gross. There was also a sauna, though it was awkward to use. It's very cramped and the knobs are on the bottom of the electric "steamer". We opted for the breakfast, which was nothing more than what you receive at a continental breakfast at a hotel. Eggs, sausage, pancakes/french toast (which was cold), fruit, yogurt, a waffle maker, assorted pastries and bagels/toast. For the price we paid, I expected more. I will not go back and don't recommend going unless you're ok with staying in a mildewy, outdated, damp, and dirty room. read more

Decor - Stayed in the Diana Oasis Suite, as described, in suite Jacuzzi and pool. The pool was a bot dusty and looked like it could've been drained a cleaned. The bathroom was cold (heat didn't work) ... now that that's out of the way ... There weren't a lot of guests during our stay. The activities were fun, the music was inclusive :). The drinks were strong and reasonably priced HIGHLIGHT: Food!!! So, I am a pescatarian and my guy is a VEGAN (always an issue with him) They do have a vegetarian menu but it doesn't quite cut it for the vegan that stays away from dairy, honey etc. SO, the chef cam out and recorded all of his likes and dislikes and prepared our breakfast and dinner for the remainder of our stay as we had the all inclusive option. I'm really disappointed on how dirty and out-dated this place is. We spend almost $1,000 for a Motel 6 room. My boyfriend and I spent 2 nights at one of the Diana's Oasis suite, as soon as we walked in we notice a terrible smell. That smell never went away. With COVID, I was expecting the room to be super clean (we have gone on vacation somewhere else this summer and had high expectations) but that was absolutely not the case. Carpet was super dirty, spider webs everywhere and the AC didn't seem to be working that well. This place needs some serious deep cleaning and renovations. We were unable to do any of the activities as they are limited because of COVID. Saturday we went into the gift shop 4 times and none of the activities we wanted to do were available. It was super irritating! Luckily we had taken matters in our hands ahead of time and had booked a different activity outside of the resort. Only plus side was that the staff was all pleasant. Food was also decent. With all the money we spent to stay here, we were expecting a much better experience. I understand that there are regulations because of COVID but there needs to be a much better system in order for other couples to be able to enjoy at least one activity during their stay. New Years vacation with my love! when we got to the room there was a extremely foul smell coming from the bathroom. My husband wanted to try the jacuzzi and I made sure I was to clean it first. When i turned on the jets there was so much dirt and filth inside the tub. The pool was okay but the area looked disgusting. I called to complain they just sent a man to clean the tub and he didn't even do a better job than I did. We are gold members and have been here many times. We didn't come here for a while because the rooms were old and weren't well kept but we decided to give it a try two weeks ago. We got apple suite this time as Champagne tower wasn't available. We were presently surprised to see our upgraded suite. I would have have given 5 stars but there are few things that still need improvement and I will find my constructive criticism later. I am vegetarian and very picky with food. Upon our check in the chef came out to talk to me to make sure I he can accommodate me which was great. The restaurant service was good. We lived our waiter Jared he was very good. We had decent dinner and their breakfast buffet is pretty big with many selections. The lounge is great with good entertainment and all bartenders are nice especially Patrick. Constructive criticisms: We got Kelsey as our front desk person and she was horrible. She didn't welcome us and was very stiff. She didn't explain anything and didn't even give us out pins and gift we are supposed to get as gold members. At the same time, another front desk person Stefano was helping other couple and he was great assisting them. Wish we had him. All in all I think most except Stefano can use training. The other issue was room cleaning. Although, it was clean but the sauna wasn't clean and full of water. The other thing was when we decided to sit by fireplace, mantel was dusty when i ran my finger thru the dust. All in all we enjoyed so much and decide to come back. The concept for the resort is cool. Even Spooners is a cool name, but it's in need of some improvements. I paid to be in the champagne towers and it wasn't worth the money. The champagne tub looks cool but mine was nasty and not clean. The swimming pool lights didn't work and the bathroom is crammed in the corner. You would think there would be some sort of kitchenette, but only a mini fridge in the corner of the bathroom. In need of some improvements to say the least. read more

EMBRACE THE NOVELTY OF IT PEOPLE! you're staying in a resort that hasn't been updated since 1972 and has champagne towers and hot shaped tub....i mean, duh! My husband and i like to go away in March for a nice getaway but couldn't afford something super fancy this year so we went fun/funny. I played air hockey in the game room. Took a bath in a champagne tub. Swam in my "in room pool". There was live music. Food and drinks and a friendly staff. And yes my sheets were clean. read more

I am giving two stars for your staff and only the staff. Donna the receptionist is beyond wonderful she was so fun from the time we entered till the time we checked out. Margaret Wood the hostess is a lot of fun and we truly enjoyed her wit. She is friendly even when she has rude customers behind us. As far as our servers Loudgie was about favorite, she was friendly and personable. We had other servers who were nice but she grew to be our favorite. Every staff member we met was really personable and an asset to your company. As far as the food maybe if you do not know how to cook its ok but since I do know how to cook it was pretty bad. Breakfast even though you advertise about getting freshly made eggs, pancakes and other items at no time did anyone offer it to us. I had to ask and then was told you should have been offered them When our waitress went back and told your cook he said do not offer these to the guests. The breakfast buffet is lacking in a big way, its the same stuff each and every morning and none of it was something to look forward to. I did finally order eggs benedict and they were horrible. The Canadian bacon was over cooked and the Hollandaise sauce was just gross. That happens to be one of the easiest sauces to make its nothing more then egg yolk, butter and lemon juice with a table spoon of water to thin it. I swore mine tasted like the put chicken broth in it. I had Margaret Wood go and try it she said she tasted mustard. Its really not good. I had the chicken piccata I tried to stay with items that were difficult to mess up. Well they did, the chicken was over floured and the sauce now that tasted like mustard to me. Not good at all. The salad bar was nothing special it was all like ground hog day the movie, everything the same over and over. I have no idea why you must make reservations nor do I understand why with 36 couples there would be an issue with people just showing up when they get to it. Why you spend money to have someone sing and play guitar in the dinning room is beyond my grasp he was not good. Why not just leave the radio or any music on. Save the money. Breakfast we tried twice and then went to sheetz for a breakfast sandwich the other days. Dinner we did each night and boy was it disappointing. I have been coming to paradise stream since 1981 we are forever lovers and I did see that you changed a few things in the champagne towers but when there is long black hair in the jaccuzi, also the one time we did use it and let the water out after the water was let out there was black stuff all over the floor of the tub and the walls. My own opinion was it was mold that was in the jets and when we go out and let the water out the mold just settled on the floor and walls. Who ever decided to redo the champagne glass and used grit on the floor of the tub is crazy I lost an inch of skin off my butt with that grit. Also when you turn the water on its leaking because the faucet no longer reached into the tub so its seeping into the bathroom. There was no tv at all for the first 2.5 days we were there. The rest of the time it was either pixeled or was not working for a few minutes then would freeze and say no satellite. The sink was stopped up for 2 days but best of all was the peanut shells and peanuts on our floor from the day we arrived and for 2 days after even though they sent some one up but they refused to come in since we were in the room. They actually left the vacuum outside the door. Was I supposed to do it? I have no idea and I want to bring up if anyone was allergic to peanuts these were right next to the bed in fact the housekeepers had to step on the peanuts to make the bed which they did but they did not clean it up. The mirrors by the champagne glass are all broken and black. The room is most certainly not up to standard and to change $400+ a night is absurd. Now on to the entertainment, where do I begin, you are wasting a small fortune hiring high school bands that's the only way I can describe them just hire a DJ so people can dance not these so called singers. Teach line dancing or ball room dancing rather then tossing water balloons. Spending a day doing the planned afternoon games no thank you I am a bit old to be going on a scavenger hunt. I did like the way you redid the game room but you can only play so many games of bowling and mini golf. All in all if I was to go up to Mt. Pocono I would definitely stay some where else for less then half the cost of what we spent, 4 days and almost $1700 that's way to high for the shape these rooms are in. Very disappointed with the stay. It's been awhile but we have stayed at the other 2 properties and loved them. This one not so Much, super small- some staff seemed annoyed others just were inefficient at their job. Shower water never got hot, not enough warm- we had to take cold showers. The air conditioners did not cool Down the room. They did redo the floors, and shower and ir looked nice it there still needs to be basic updates and paint jobs. The champagne tower besides being dirty isn't worthy the hype- it's just a bowl high up--half a stem attached to the wall. The activities equipment- archery and fishing etc had to be returned by 6pm. It's a lot of money to end so early and the woman in the gift shop was curt and not friendly. Don't get me started on the food--/ dinner was disgusting!! Waiters kept forgetting to serve not only us but others. We had to remind our waiter for our "potato soup" that had no potatoes and tasted like it was out a can, our green beans were cold and the salmon, and ravioli were worse than hospital food less activities the other spots. I enjoyed my husbands company but overall did not find it worth the money at all!! read more

Not what I was expecting at all!!! I booked this back in January for me & my boyfriend on Priceline without reading the reviews first. For the amount of money that I paid...we could've went on a weekend getaway with round trip tickets included and stayed in a much better resort in Florida. I was disappointed the minute I left the lobby after check in. A few days before checking in, I received an email regarding an upgrade for a discounted price which I was unable to get because all of the available rooms wit h the champagne tower were out of order. The girl who checked us in did not explain any of the amenities on the ground just simply circled what was available on a sheet of paper and directed us with her hands swaying where the gift shop was to rent equipment and about where our room would be. We purchased the meal plan for the following day (Saturday) for $47.50 per person and Lobster & Steak all you can eat was the meal for that night but declined the all you can eat breakfast for $15 because it's from 8:30am til 11am, we weren't sure if we would be up in time. After leaving the lobby... we drove to our room (512) the Diana Oasis Suite and upon walking in I immediately got a bad feeling just looking at how dirty the door was. We were smacked in the face by the strong odor of urine inside of the room that we almost gagged. All we did when we first arrived was dropped our bags off and left to go eat and buy air freshener and bleach to scrub the tub with. We left the door of the pool open so at least the place would smell like a fire place when we returned. Oh by the way, you need to purchase wood to get the fire place in the pool going. We ventured into town, got something to eat and went to buy cleaning supplies and when we returned it smelled better when we first arrived thanks to my boyfriend keeping the door open by the pool. I scrubbed the tub with bathroom cleaner with bleach and sprayed all the air freshener I possibly could. I even purchased a gel glade freshener to keep it smelling fresh. The bed was clean..kind of small because its round but super comfy. Unfortunately my boyfriend was sick with a stomach virus the entire time Friday so we didn't get to enjoy the room much but we did get a very good night of sleep. Our AC in our room stayed on 58 high and the room just wouldn't cool down...it was very warm which didn't bother me much but my boyfriend was very hot. I can't imagine being here in the summer though...I probably would die from heat exhaustion. The next day I was up pretty early since we got a really good night of sleep so I showered early and got ready. There is a heater in the bathroom which is sooooo nice and its definitely great for when you step out...you dont get the cold chill while you're drying yourself. The shower is actually really nice and the shower head pressure is good however after showering...I felt like I needed another shower, I suppose the water in PA is not like NY so its not what Im used to. We picked up a hot spot pamphlet at the front desk to try to plan our day as early as possible and take a look at the grounds and the game room. The game room was fabulous and although we didn't dip into the hot tub or the pool by the game room...it sure was a beautiful sight to look at. The grounds of the property are well kept, the grass is green....theres an outdoor pool but of course it wasnt open because its only April. We played basketball in the game room as well as pool and it was free. We indulged in Happy hour at the night club and even played a game of Bingo before heading to dinner. DJ Chris and Kevin were awesome...we had a lot of laughs with them and they definitely provide great entertainment! Dinner was lobster & steak and we even had shrimp pasta. It was really good from what I remember cause I was a little tipsy. Our waitress was friendly and the dining area was nice and intimate. The last night we were there we decided to take a dip in the pool in our room which was at a good temperature and not as bad as I thought it would be. It was definitely a very intimate experience and I loved every minute of it. I started out with giving this place a 2 star review but honestly..its not all that bad...its what u make of it and I had a great time. Theres plenty to do and its a very relaxing place.. its exactly what u make of it. I can honestly say I had the time of my life by the pond in the paddle boat with my boyfriend. we wanted to spend our 6 year wedding anniversary somewhere romantic. Looked online, everything looked good. Until we got here. looked like black mold all over the place, easy to trip and fall, hot tub was more shallow than my tub at home. Thankfully we bright our own treats, because all of theirs were over priced for a dirty hotel room dead bugs. I wish I could take it back and stay at a super 8 for as many nights as it cost to stay in this place. Very disappointed. Best thing here was the wifi. read more

I stood three day's and then extended my time there , Last full day there I was disrespected by a lady who works there, she didn't like the music that was playing from my speaker and decided to put two chairs in front of ours by the outdoor pool area. We got the champagne tower suite for our anniversary and it was amazing! The heated pool was super fun, the sauna was fantastic. But the 10 foot tall champagne glass bath was so dirty that we didn't even want to use it (visible dirt and someone else's bubble bath water?) the only other issue was that the starlights above the bed didn't work, which was a bummer. I'm going to give this place 5 stars, because I don't quite understand all the negative reviews. First off, this is a kitschy resort- not a millionaire's paradise. If that is your expectation, this might not be the place for you. We had a champagne tower for two nights. It was great! The suite was huge and everything was clean. (I inspect every property I stay at for bedbugs, and this place was clean.) Yes, there was some minor wear and tear to the room, but nothing problematic. The pool was our favorite! The champagne glass with the twinkle lights was so relaxing! The living room area is great to just relax. I also liked the speakers in the bedroom that I could use with my iPhone. The only complaint for the room is the mattress wasn't very comfortable and the shower took a while to heat up. Unfortunately the weather was AWFUL when we were there so there really were no outdoor activities unless you wanted to be cold and wet. But between a private pool, the indoor activities at the cafe, and the nearby shopping/casino, there was still enough to do. We enjoyed the hosted games like bingo and trivia. The arcade was a bit of a let down to me. I didn't really enjoy any of the things they had and would have loved to see some skee ball, air hockey, and real pinball machines. Other guests seemed to enjoy it, so I'm probably just an arcade-snob. The nightly entertainment was really good both nights we were there and the bar was nice. We didn't care for the meals- they were ok, but if we go back we will skip the meal plan and go out and eat at local restaurants, which is more our style. I cannot say enough nice things about all the employees! Everyone was SO nice, and everyone really seemed to care about our stay and making sure we had a nice time. This place needs an overhaul. It's a great concept, but the price vs what you get is an issue. I booked a two night stay in a champagne tower suite...it looked like the room hasn't been updated in over 30 years. Worn, smelly carpet, stained old fiberglass shower stall that had barely moveable glass doors, broken sauna, 2/3 filled pool with cold water (in January?), and the scratched up old champagne glass hot tub took nearly 90 minutes to fill with smelly well water. The dining experience was blah...the food was served cold and had no taste the first night, but was better the second night. As far as breakfast, if you hit a Hampton Inn or a Comfort suites on I-95, you'll get a better breakfast. On a positive note, the dining staff (servers, matre d', bar servers) were all incredibly friendly, as was the front desk staff when we checked in. Their attitude changed quickly when we pointed out the issues we were having, so I think they deal with the same complaints fairly regularly and have trained themselves to just let you complain while they do nothing. There was a half decent band that took requests...other than that, it was pretty much a dismal stay. The whole weekend cost about $1100. If the place was cleaner, updated, and in works long condition and the food they served was at least the temperature it was supposed to be, I'd be happy to spend it again. Until then...don't waste your money. ***update...if by "historic charm", you mean dated, worn out and dirty furnishings, then yes...the place has historic charm. Most travelers paying what we paid would expect a certain level of quality and cleanliness, even if a place has "historic charm"; this place was worn out and kitschy, at best. It's ready for an overhaul if you want to keep charging what you're charging. If not, it's a "stay away" rating. read more

My boyfriend scheduled a surprise birthday weekend here for my birthday. When I first arrived I noticed it was a little outdated... But clean! The room had a private pool with fire place, a jacuzzi tub and a round bed. The campus was very nice. Super pretty pond and lots of activities to do. They also have an indoor pool and game room. You'll be having so much fun if your partner isn't a boring lol The food and live entertainment was very good too! Only reason I give this 4 stars is bc outdated decor and that my bf had scheduled chocolate covered strawberries before dinner but they never showed so he had to call and reschedule the time... Here I could've went to dinner engaged if they'd remembered to deliver them hahaha but it all worked out. Overall I'd recommend this place. I'll definitely be booking here again for a nice couples retreat! read more

I was so excited to go back to one of the Pocono resorts. Last time I visited was 19 years ago. I booked a 2 night stay At The Diana's Oasis. Bathroom was the only thing that looked like it had been updated. The furniture was scratched up. But I was okay to overlook that. The biggest disappointment was the pool. It was dirty. I didn't smell clean. The mirrors were disgusting. Dirty. For the price, I expected a nice clean "everything" in the room. Yes, including the mirrors. What's the purpose of having all these mirrors and they look like they haven't been cleaned in months. On another note, the front desk staff that helped us when we arrived was wonderful. The food was good. We almost left after the first Night. Decided to stay and woke up at 5am and left. Not sure if I would return to this particular location. read more

Joey D. from Brooklyn hit the nail on the head. Only difference between his experience and ours was we DID get a FULL REFUND, probably because we booked through Expedia. Management responded by saying renovations were taking place, and though we were there a year later, there was no evidence of this. In fact we were told renovations were scheduled but not being done "because of the storm". Now for OUR experience: We entered Champagne Towers Room 428 to a very funky smell. The best way to describe it was wet, moldy and old-sex-smelling. Our first attempt to use the room facilities was to swim in the pool. We found bugs, sticks and rose petals from previous users, in the water and along the sides. We made 3 calls to get it cleaned and though maintenance came hours later, it made little difference. The bed sheet stunk and we later noticed a fecal matter stain on the sheet! GROSS!! (Please see photo.) Tracey came to change the sheet which was a 20 minute process. As she pulled the bed out, there were more rose petals from sexcapades of Poconos past. We could tell that she was overworked and the place was understaffed. Even with the clean sheets, the place was still dusty and funky. To escape from the room, we walked the grounds and tried to use the games in the recreation center. Many games just ate my coins or did not work properly. When we felt we'd seen all the negative aspects, we went for dinner in the restaurant. Food quality was less than TV dinner caliber. At this point my wife and I were only talking about getting a refund on the meal vouchers. Admittedly, we enjoyed participating in "The Newlywed Game" activity and "Mr. Hipno" put on an enjoyable show, but these were the only things were were positive about the experience. During the night, my wife could see I was depressed about spending our hard-earned money on the worst hotel experience we've ever had. We made a decision to check out the very next morning and to the hotel's credit, we were issued a full refund. We immediately changed our plans and spent our remaining time off vacationing in the Finger Lakes at the Best Western Plus. This was a clean 2-year old hotel and we enjoyed our stay there immensely. Needless to say, we won't be staying at Paradise Stream or any other property from these hotels. If management decides to post a response please don't try to lie and say upgrades are being made. I came here on a Groupon deal with my boyfriend for a weekend getaway. After reading some reviews I was nervous about coming here and not having a great time. I do agree that this place is outdated compared to the shiny Mount Airy Casino about 1/2 mile away with a beautiful lake front. We got the Lakeside Villa - which reminds me of a catacomb but it's nice to have your own little 'house'. It has a direct patio to the lake and you can enjoy the view. (it's beautiful in the morning). I was afraid that the room would have bugs in it based on another yelp review but my room was very clean. Outdated yes (since i'm so use to the VIP suite at Atlantic City Hotels) but still very clean. The food was okay. I mean to serve such a large number of people not everything is perfect. Friday night we had the buffet and I just ate because I was hungry. Saturday it was a 4 course meal, apps were fine, salad needs a little work on, entree was decent and dessert was excellent! And I love love their breakfast buffets (i'm a sucker for bunch). PS. get the all inclusive option if you can, its worth it. There is ample amount of activities you can do. They have mini golf course (9 courses), archery, swimming pool, bon fire, shuffle board, bike rentals and a game room and a 15-20 min nature trail. I'm pretty sure there are paddle boats for when the season is warmer. As mentioned above, they have a casino near by as well. We pretty much just stayed locally and did the activities that were already provided for us. Their CXO events were a lot of fun. It definitely helps couples communicate better and you get to know other couples as well. There is also a Spa onsite where the gift shop is. My boyfriend and I booked a massage and it was a great experience. The mark up for Spa isn't that high compared to your local spa (maybe around $15 higher). They also have happy hour in their 'theater night club'. Again, outdated but I think this place is very tailored to older couples. (I'm also willing to bet we were the youngest couple there). Their drinks are amazing and bar food is good. Overall, it was a good experience. All the staff members were great - Joan (from Gift Shop), our masseuse (Steven and Tara), our CXO (Amari) and even our server (Christoper). They all did a fantastic job. read more

We were so excited for this getaway for our anniversary and a break from everything. Unfortunately the $1,000 spent for two nights could have definitely been much better spent. The resort is completely outdated and if the food service staff overall could have been any less excited about being at work they would have been dead. Maddison and Nylla were the only positive interactions from a server perspective. The first night at dinner we had desert before we were even able to get a glass of wine. Even then we had to go to the hostess to get that. The pool in the room needed some work for sure and there was even a light hanging out of the ceiling in the pool area that my husband put back where it belonged. Then upon checking out we asked if we could get a laundry bag, that was a joke. Once again paying that kind of money per night and we couldn't get something as simple as a plastic laundry bag to take our dirty clothes home in. The attention to detail at this "resort" is seriously lacking. I would not in any way consider this a resort. It's more of just your below average hotel for a much larger price tag. read more

Because of your refusal to accommodate my boyfriend and I according to the terms on your website, we canceled our reservation, found a charming B&B, went on a nature hike, and visited an abandoned honeymoon resort. It started when I asked boyfriend to plan a weekend getaway for my birthday. He chose a retreat located in the Poconos, or the former "honeymoon capital of the world." Looking back, I think the torrential downpour was trying to tell me something as we checked into our private villa overlooking a pond. The main hall featured [paid] light refreshments before dinner. As we headed into the dining room, the host said we were not on the inclusive meal plan normally standard with the rooms. Because boyfriend had booked through another party, the management refused to comply with the wording listed on their website stating "as a guest of the resort, you will enjoy all inclusive breakfast and dinner." As the wording was misleading and the management refused to comply, we chose to leave. We soon found a cute bed and breakfast nearby that was honest. Dinner was one of the best meals I ever feasted upon and breakfast the next day was just as tasty. We spent Sunday hiking through stunning Bushkill Falls. Did I mention the rust on the outside of the door frame to our villa??? Not exactly a great first impression. On our way home, we stopped at Penn Hills Resort, sadly abandoned since the owner passed in 2009. I couldn't help but wonder if Paradise Stream is headed toward a similar fate. p.s. I agree with Paige, this place is phenomenal! Everything has been newly redecorated, the room we got was the Garden of Eden Apple & it was beautiful! The room and the grounds were clean and there was plenty to do. We had breakfast delivered to our room one morning and the next we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast buffet at the restaurant. The recreational building had everything from an arcade, billiards, gym and indoor pool with waterfall hot tubs inside to archery, basketball,volley ball, horse shoes and outdoor pool with bar and fire pit. You can walk to the stables to go horse back riding or go to one of nearby State Parks, Casino or Wildlife Parks. The town it's situated in is no where near a ghost town, it's a smaller town but has Casino's and even a Cheese Cake Factory. read more

Not only are they completely overpriced, but their service from registration to checkout is horrible, most of their staff are incapable of resolving any problems, their rooms are outdated, their food is horrible, they're really understaff and their staff is very frustrated, so they react very unprofessional to criticism, and the cleanliness of the facility is not good at all. Their fees and charges for drinks, of watered down alcohol is awful and uncalled for. From start to finish, if I can rate this place a 0 I would. My husband and I booked our second honeymoon here through a Groupon. We booked a Lakeside Villa room with inclusive breakfast and dinner and activities. Upon check in we received a complimentary upgrade to the Garden of Eden Apple room which included a private sauna, pool, heart shaped tub, round bed, and ultimate privacy. Of course, we were there to spend a fair amount of time in the room and the upgrades made it all the more enjoyable and romantic. The breakfasts and dinner were delicious, perfect portions, great service, and enjoyable atmosphere. There was nightly entertainment, which were were pleasantly surprised by and the happy hour drink specials were reasonable. We enjoyed the natural scenery, seclusion, daytime activities, and it was the perfect setting to re-kindle the love! Very accommodating for the erotic :) Rooms without the groupon are pretty pricey, but the discounts and upgrades we received made it a great deal for us! read more

Overall our stay was nice, however there was one issue that was really disturbing, the toilet seat. As soon as we checked in, we contacted house keeping, the supervisor said there were no replacements in stock. The seat was broken and worn out, pitted with holes that can't really be cleaned. I'm adding pictures and I'm sure there will be some type of bogus response, however there is a Lowe's right down the road, how hard would it be to go buy one and install it? Paradise Stream Review - August 2020 After seeing marketing for Cove Haven for the last few years in researching a trip to the Poconos, we were led to believe that this is a luxurious resort, updated and ready for guests to have an unparalleled experience at an adult-only resort. The Marketing Team and the Booking/Reservations department should be commended for selling such a dream. Sadly the mirage quickly fades when you arrive. ----- Surprise Birthday Weekend Getaway When the GPS said you have arrived, I saw the sign in front of me to be rusty and old - like where has he taken me? My radar started going off, oh boy here we go, keep smiling he put a lot of work into coordinating the weekend. As we pulled onto the property, the basketball court rims were hanging like they were broken, the tennis courts had yellow caution tape across them, and I was really wondering where we were. We entered the lobby and I started to see Cove Haven branding, I know where we are! We checked in, got our room keys and were off to our room (YAY). After shouldering the door open, once the room key registered and went green, we entered our haven. At first I was super surprised by the rose petals, champagne and a note to find the fridge for another surprise. The chocolate covered strawberries were the best food item I had the entire stay. In finding the fridge (located in the bathroom) we started to question the renovations... the countertop is chipped (suite 438), the mirror are discolored, and later we found out that the shower had poor pressure and once you set it to a temperature you would enjoy that for a few minutes (less than 5) to then get scalding hot water or ice water - and trying to adjust the knobs for a better temperature yielded no change. I resorted to several bubble baths to try and relax instead - those however are very loud based on the drain location and the jet source constantly vacuuming. In trying to keep the decision making (stress) to a minimum, my husband purchased the meal package for the weekend. Friday we went to dinner and service was poor. The waiter seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed - he brought out courses separately (i.e. he brought my soup and then we waited for my husband's). We were told a bartender would be around when we asked about alcoholic beverages - and never saw that person the entire hour plus we were seated. My entree came out, the Carne Asada, and it was cooked what looked perfectly (medium) but it was ICE COLD- I asked for a redo, and the new steak was hot but cooked extra well and some of the garnishes were not on the plate anymore. Consistency from the Kitchen shouldn't be that hard with a menu of 5 entrees and staggered seating times. Saturday we went to breakfast, which was about as good as the food I had in college (mediocre at best). Service was better, but still not great. Saturday evening we went to dinner, and again, the marketing department oversold the product. (I have to give it to the marketing team, they are doing a KILLER JOB). The pork chop was to have a sage garlic butter sauce. It was bland, no sauce, and when I asked for BBQ sauce I was informed you didn't have BBQ sauce, but had steak sauce - how do you not have a basic condiment?? I didn't send it back because I didn't think it would be any better on a second take. Sunday morning we woke up to the smell of cigarette smoke in our room - upstairs only. I'm not sure if someone was smoking behind the building and it was venting in via the AC unit or what - but gross. We opted not to go to breakfast Sunday - my overall review of food to this point was: mediocre, bland, senior citizens center food - can't have to much flavor or spice because "Ethel" and "Louis" will complain. I understand COVID-19 has had a huge impact on business, but the front desk staff said you were still sold out, and my issues are not with the closed indoor activities or lack of nightly entertainment. A weekend at Cove Haven is a splurge for many, it is something that should not leave you disappointed and wishing you hadn't splurged for something. If you are living on the reviews of the heyday (1990's when my parents came), it is long over. The marketing department is selling it, you need to invest in your onsite operations and facilities to get people to come back or to recommend Cove Haven to others. read more

My boyfriend and i booked a two night stay at this resort i was excited to experience a private indoor pool but I was so disappointed. Before you enter the room there a paper saying they cleaned the room for us and to enjoy the stay but once I started looking around the room I saw a big spider web literally right next to the AC , the bed sheets had makeup stains and the jacuzzi jets didn't work and the room had a Oder that once you turn the ac off you smell it really bad . Other then that I enjoyed my stay but don't think I would be coming back read more
