But then they showed us their rooftop bar (live music!) that overlooks Duvall St. so now that's our go to spot to drink and people watch. See you there!

Recently stayed at this beautiful boutique hotel. Feels more like a bed & breakfast then typical…read moreMarriott property. Property does not have one consistent vibe, but it is closest attributed to South Beach/modern. Rooftop bar has live music in the evening and good drinks while overlooking Duval street. Breakfast selection is good, but if you are used to complementary breakfast through the Marriott status, then you are only offered eggs, bacon, granola, and toast. Sadly the bacon was stale (we were one of the first, if not the very first to order breakfast, so it being completely cold and stale tells me it's not from today). We asked for coffee at breakfast and were pointed to the coffee station on the front end of the bar. Just drip coffee, nothing special. No milk, alternatives or honey, just cream, sugar and stevia. That part could be improved for it being about $400-$500/night. The room itself is decorated well and clean. Plantation shutters look great, but they do let in light in the morning since hotel doesn't have any curtains. Walls are thin as we heard the phone ring, but turns out it was our neighbor.

Absolutely LOVED this place. Free beer or soda upon check in. FREE HAPPY HOUR like what?!?! How can…read moreyou beat that??? All the staff are friendly and nice. The property is filled with hammocks and tree swings, perfect places to drink your FREE coffee or tea from the lobby every morning. You know what I loved more than all the free beverages (lol)? The fact that we visited in the middle of summer and didn't get bit by a single mosquito! How is that even possible in Florida during summer??? They must spray & have mosquito repelling plants. Or super powers. Our room was cute and clean. We got the standard room (no upgrades) after the Hyatt screwed up our reservation and we were scrambling to find accommodations last minute. But ya know what?! This place was so much better! I can't rave enough about Eden House. We are definitely staying here when we come back!

***Buyer Beware*** This hotel is a scam. They advertise…read morerooms with queen size beds that are clearly full size at best. I actually measured the bed and it was far smaller. On top of that the room is almost closet sized with an exposed shower and sink which makes it feel very humid in the room. Theres barely enough space between the bed and wall to walking into the room. The shower also hadn't been cleaned with a piece of old soap stuck to the floor and bug crawling under the pillow when i moved it.. I brought it to the attention of the man working the front desk who first told me it was a queen. The GM came on later that evening and admitted that it wasn't a queen and offered us a slightly larger rom but same size bed. Again the sink was in the room and it was stuffy and humid which made it hard to sleep more than four hours. I canceled the room after one night and tried to get my money back, but they've refused. Do not stay at this hotel. The "queen room" is basically just a hostel at hotel prices. $260 a night in my case.

The Ridley House is in a good location just off Duval Street and near Mallory Square. You can…read moreeasily walk to these locations and have access to the trolly or hop on hop off bus access areas. The woman in the reception area was friendly and informative. The staff member who cooked breakfast was also quite personable and set up a very nice buffet breakfast, which was delicious. Fresh croissants, scrambled eggs, pancakes, fresh fruit, yogurt...the buffet breakfast and the complimentary sangria between 3-4 were among the highlights of staying here. The rooms were fairly typical Key West, somewhat small, some bathrooms were updated and others were not. We stayed during an unusual cold spell and had to use the wall heater. It was loud and put out an unfavorable smell. It took some time, but it did eventually burn off. We could have used some instruction on the various remotes. One was for the air/heat wall unit, one was for the ceiling fan and the other for the TV. We never could figure out how to turn off the fan. The room was decently clean, but needed a good dusting. Overall, we would stay here again. The location, food and drink are really good, the bed is comfortable, but the room could use a bit better cleaning and instructions for using the remotes. The area outside our second floor room was large and private with chairs to relax in. That was nice, too, as well as the pool.

It's a little shabby, a little less friendly, a little dirty, with fewer amenities, and yet somehow more expensive. I agree with a previous reviewer about the dirty bathroom/grout and needing to wear shoes. When it was Kimpton, you were given welcome drinks. Now you get an invite to the Happy Hour 3 hours after you check out. Of course, we were not told about it at the unfriendly check-in or about the breakfast. Great location, and it was still a good time, but crossing this one off the list. There are too many other good choices to overpay for sub-par.

Pegasus is all about what you're looking for This is not a 5…read morestar hotel It is not the cleanest It does not have the best breakfast (But if you're eating a continental breakfast while in key west, you are missing out on good food! Walk to moon dog!) Pros: *LOCATION location location Right off duval - can't beat it but again it depends on what you're looking for (Duval = noise) *PARKING!!! Absolute pro When it comes to key west, parking is expensive and at times difficult to find For being off duval, having a designated parking lot a couple steps away with in and out privileges included in the price is rare and an extremely big bonus *Walgreens right next door for drinks, snacks and anything you forgot *fridge & microwave in room *coffee machine *ice bucket & ice machine *water cooler in hallway *room stocked - sounds silly but I appreciate it when there is plenty of tp, cups, et There were 3 rolls of tp, plenty of drink cups, plenty of coffee cups, and rolls of trash bags in both trash cans along with tissues and 2 pool towels *25 yrs old and up to check in We had room 201 facing duval Cons: - noise Even with our sound machine, music from Willie Ts could be heard It didn't bother us much but only because we had the sound machine to drown it out The room above us had the heaviest foot guests There was a loud boom with every step I would have definitely preferred to be on the top floor It was worse noisewise over the duval noise - incidental fee 300$ !?!? It was not mentioned when I booked Seems extreme to me - cleanliness Nothing to make us leave (bed and towels clean) but the bathroom shower wasn't fully cleaned (hair) & there was hair around bottom of toilet Empty water bottle under bed Stained decorative bed pillow that should just be tossed Stained (moldy?) terrace chairs that need to be replaced - tv = low resolution cable channels If you're a tv snob like me, this is a con Tips: Put the sign on your door for service or no service For a three night stay, we didn't need/want anyone to come in It was a bit surprising that they came in while we were out the first morning there Some people like that, we prefer to not have anyone in the room while we're gone As for art deco - do not expect to see that in the renovated rooms The only art deco aspect I saw was the exterior of the building

Fantastic value for the Key West area. Comfy beds, ice cold AC, and a roof top patio with hot tub…read moreand swimming pool. You also get a continental breakfast included. What would I improve? For starters, more seating in the breakfast area. With a full hotel, you might have to wait for a place to sit and scarf down your toast and Cheerios. Also, the pool is listed as "heated", and heated it is...it felt like a hot tub. When the temps outside are in the 80's and 90's, the pool water doesn't need heated at all. I went in briefly for a dip and ended up being drowsy because of the heat (and the booze I consumed earlier). I'd definitely stay here again. AirBnB places in the area are ridiculous in price (and a $200 cleaning fee?! Nope!). Skip the nonsense and come here instead. It's right on Duval street so you have instant access to cold snacks and good times (6 blocks to Sloppy Joes!!)

Susie acted as though she got me a great deal on a hotel room and time was of the essence. According to her, it was half the price as normal. I agreed to the price and gave her my card info. Turns out, all she did was just take my card and book the room online (I could have easily done this). She never emailed me any confirmation info and just said "all set." Then texts me a screenshot where she used HER contact information for MY booking. When I asked if she could coordinate an early arrival she declined saying she doesn't contact the hotel for her guests? What a strange way to respond as a TRAVEL AGENT. I, myself, took the whopping 10 minutes to call and confirm the booking, and arrange an early arrival, with zero help from Susie. When I got to the hotel, it turns out it was actually $100 more than what Susie had quoted me!!! but by then obviously it's too late. Post vacation, I asked Susie yet again to email me confirmation of my stay so that I can use it for my records and now she has just stopped responding. Congrats, Susie, on taking a "well deserved commission" on my behalf. Steer clear of her services, save the headache and just book your own room online, that's all she does anyway.
