I have been coming to Paradise Island every Wednesday evening for our date night with the Wifey! The staff and service has always been amazing! They take their time and have conversations with you. Went here with some friends randomly . It was my first time , they had been there before . The valet was a mess . They charged a cover at the door which was crazy because for what ? It's an outdoor venue . Cash only . The bathroom was a mess and the line was out the door the entire time we were there . The bathroom attendant was leaning on the counter texting . The music was okay , then became super redundant . My friend asked to play something else, the dj dismissed her. The drinks were overpriced and not justified. This is for a younger and homogeneous Trump supporting crowd. I didn't realize by accepting a friends invite to listen to some performer I had never heard of in my life, we would be subjected to hours of a Trump flag flying around. Time and place. Is a restaurant really an appropriate opportunity? It's unfortunate that we were totally put off by the vibe and the clear lack of cultural diversity because the view, outdoor breeze, DJ, and the wait staff that took our order was pleasant and enjoyable. Food & drinks were mediocre at best. The door staff was cold and had an off putting vibe. Perhaps they were not expecting middle age people of color? My husband paid for both of us and the door lady closed the tape before letting me pass. The other lady had to tell her we were together despite it being quite obvious!! As if I'm going to run through the gate without paying. $25 entrance fee to hear some freestyle performer (Reina) popular in Staten Island but we had no clue who she was! La India, TKA, Noel, Cynthia.... worth the $25 but Reina... (we never heard of her). Her performance was painful to watch. Suffice to say, we will NEVER go back to this place if they think flying ANY flag affiliated with ANY type of political party is acceptable. We consume a substantial bill of food and alcohol wherever we go and they have certainly lost out on our business moving forward. Very mixed crowd from 20s to 50s. We sat at a table and my friend waited 20-25min for a drink refill. Server said there was only one bartender for that area. Charging $0 cover then $10 then $15 then $20 as the night went on was a total scam. We had friends come in at staggered times and we all thought this was just a money grab for a very average DJ, understaffed crew and a lackluster crowd. Be careful wearing good shoes bc the muddy rocky parking lot is a mess. Perhaps the lame cover charges could cover the cost of a new asphalt parking lot. Won't be going back. read more

This is the 2nd time we came here and I must say the service is not great. It was slow both times even though it was not busy. Both times there was something missing....from utensils to drinks. There was eight of us and none of the food came out at the same time. Three of us had to give the food back because it was cold. We had warm beer. The so called manager came over asked how was our food when we told him we were getting cold food he flipped out and told us not to come back. That's very unprofessional for a manager. Went here for NYE 2024 celebration. I have been to this restaurant many times and had a great dining experience each time, However, the New Year's Eve celebration was a total disaster! It was a horrible and disappointing experience. We arrived shortly after 8 PM and was seated around 8:45 PM. We waited 45 minutes (9:30 PM) for our cocktails. Then we waited until 10:38 PM for our first entrée (appetizers). They forgot about our second entrée and finally got that at 11:25 PM. Then we got our main course at midnight while in the middle of the countdown. The paella was watery and hardly had any seafood. We had to ask the waitress for our dessert because they almost forgot that too! I will never do a New Year's Eve celebration at this restaurant again! read more

This place is absolute trash. Ok, so here is exactly what happened. My boyfriend called to see if there would be a cover charge, and this establishment said there would be no cover charge until 9 pm. After 9 pm, he was told that there would be a cover charge. I then called after him, and they confirmed as well that there was no cover charge until 9 pm, so it made sense to us to get there before that time. When we got there before that time, the manager and staff up front said something totally different. She said 'no cover charge until 8 pm.' I then said "your staff just told us over the phone something totally different," and went under the rope! Staff is all on different pages. Then the manager and staff said 'fine, get stuff to eat, no cover charge.' We said ok, we'll get some stuff, which we were planning on anyways. Because we only got dessert and cappuccinos, we were treated poorly, so these two big bouncers/security guards actually confronted us and said 'look, we saw what you ordered, so either pay the cover charge or leave!' They actually kept track of what we had. My boyfriend then paid the cover charge for us. Then, I happened to walk up to another couple and asked "how much was your cover charge?" ZERO. ZIP. ZILCH. NADA! Turns out they were friends with the owner, who treated my boyfriend very unfairly. Why should he be harassed and have to pay, when they walked right in and did not? And, we gave them business and ordered, but they had the nerve to send security over to us to demand a cover charge, even when the owner previously said if we ordered stuff, no cover charge. So yeah, this place is trash and treats people very poorly and unfairly. They actually pick and choose who pays a cover charge, and make up their own rules, which is extremely unfair. Also, the way my boyfriend was confronted was extremely harsh and unprofessional, and I will never come here ever again. Should be called Hell Island. read more

I went tonight to try Paradise Island's food for the first time with a friend. We enter into the restaurant after 8 and it was pretty dead. The hostess told us to go through the back doors to be seated out front. It was pretty crowded with people seated by the bar and the entrance. The hostess sat us at a table near the entrance. I ordered a cucumber martini which was priced at $14. When I received it it was in a small plastic cup. I ordered the chicken paella and it was delicious! I highly recommend it! It was a huge portion that you could even share it with another person. We finished eating around 9:15 and after paying the bill we sat back to enjoy the night and music that was playing. An employee walked over to us close to an hour after and asked if we are staying for the performance at 12. My friend and I questioned who they were and what song they sing. The performer goes by C-bank and is a freestyle artist. They said we needed to give $10 for a wristband to stay and watch the performance. We asked them to return after we sampled the artist's songs as we were not familiar when we heard their name. We were a bit annoyed that they were asking for money in order for us to stay around for the performance. Also a friend of ours met us out as we were finishing our meal and was charged a $20 cover and that wasn't including the wristband and charge for the performer that, to us, was unpopular. That left a bad taste in my mouth and my friends. I would return for the food but as for hanging out afterwards I think this place overcharges customers. read more

Unequivocally one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant, quite literally anywhere in the world. Today is Mother's Day, but we were seated after docking our boat. At the beginning, the young woman serving us spilled a tray of drinks on me, which I am not too upset about because things happen. She is learning and definitely needed more guidance and support from her managers before being ready to serve. However she was kind and apologetic, and I do not fault her much for the rest of our experience. With a party of 8, all of our food came out at different times. Not merely a couple minutes, but over 20 minutes. By the point that the remaining food had come out, the manager decided to act childish and tell us he would be voiding our check and told us to never come back. Our complaints were merely addressing that the food was cold, beers were warm, and half our table had not been given their food. At no point did we speak aggressively to the manager until he decided to become irate and blow off our entire table. In my years of travel and dining I have never experienced such an unreasonable manager that couldn't handle a relatively easy to fix complaint. We had many friends who ate there earlier as well that noted that the food was not worth the trip but had decided not to mention anything to management. If you cannot accommodate more tables, simply tell people there is a wait to avoid providing a terrible experience. I can be sympathetic to a degree as someone who has worked in hospitality before but the behavior of this manager was completely uncalled for. We are part of a boating club and will let our friends know that this establishment should be crossed off the list of places to enjoy a break from a ride. Incredibly sad that a place in a prime location with so much potential is so poorly managed. To the owner, I would recommend actually training your manager as he has a temper and apparently cannot handle simple complaints. We tipped the young woman who was just extremely kind and apologetic because she is not responsible for his behavior, but you all need to do better. read more

Great DJ playing outside, bartenders and staff were nice and friendly. Owner came over to check if we were being taken care of. A true hidden gem on Staten Island! Four friends celebrated a 30th birthday enjoying food, drinks and DANCING! With few options on the Island that include all three on a Thursday night (we all work weekends) Paradise Island proved to be win on all three counts. The mixed crowd was a plus for me since I'm the oldest in the group and felt very comfortable. Outside overlooking the water was the perfect summer night vibe. This foursome had a great time and will be back. Can't wait to see what Thursday nights in winter will bring. Kudos Paradise Island, I believe you have a WINNING venue. read more

Wouldn't recommend to anyone who is newly legal, both bouncers and bartenders were rude and gave us a hard time about our ids. (New york state drivers licenses) They didn't own a scanner or blue light so they only confirmed visually. Went with a group of 5 girls all ages 22-23 and had our ids checked when we came in and then went to the bar. We waited for about 10 minutes at a bar that was not crowded before the bartender came over and asked for our ids again. We were then told our ids were not valid, despite all being our own, real, New york state (all with staten island addresses) drivers licenses. We then had multiple people including someone who claimed to be the owner recheck them and after about 20 minutes of arguing they confirmed the IDs were real and we left as this is not a place that will get our business. First time coming here. It was pouring out. We park our vehicle and as we're about to exit our vehicle a gentleman was by my door with an umbrella so that we don't get wet. Went for the first time on Saturday with my wife. The place looks nice overlooking the marina and a view of the outerbridge.
