The quality of the food and service is deteriorating at this restaurant. I really had a bad experience from my last order from Paradise biryani place on February 7th.My order was first messed up by sending all 4 biryanis as chicken biryani with bone when the original order was 2 veg and 2 boneless chicken biryani. To rectify this, last Friday I was given 2 veg and 2 boneless chicken biryani as a replacement. Shockingly when I tried to open and eat the vegetarian biryani, I found chicken piece in both of the veg biryani order. Please see photos attached. I tried to call and speak with the restaurant people, they really had a bad attitude. The lady on phone was not ready to believe about this and she was blaming why we did not open n eat the biryani the same day it was bought. Also upon asking email id or phone number to send photos I was given an incorrect email id where I got failure delivery. This restaurant really needs a quality control check. Let me start with a rave about their service and attitude in our servers passing comment (we showed up 15 minutes before closing): "When a customer arrives, we stay open." BOOM!! That's a statement rarely heard today. On to absolutely DELICIOUS food. We make the drive for their Chicken 65 and Chilly Chicken. Add some garlic naan along with their yummy sauces (mint chutney, tamarind and yogurt) and it's a gastronomical delight. We've had many different dishes and they're ALL great. We just happen to have our favorite must haves and these are it. Bonus: the portions are enough for lunch the next day. From lunch to a date, it's good for all. I would give zero stars if I could. I had an absolutely terrible experience with this establishment and their nonexistent customer service. ​On 12/12, I placed an order directly through their website. The transaction went through successfully, and my card was charged immediately. However, when I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my food, the doors were locked. There was a sign stating they were "closed for maintenance," yet their online ordering system was still active and taking people's money. I have called on three separate occasions to request a refund. Each time, I get the same response, they take my name and number and promise to call me back within the hour. I have yet to receive a single return call. It is clear there is no professional management in place, the place seems to be run entirely by students who have no authority or desire to resolve issues.I am now forced to go through the hassle of disputing the charge with my credit card provider just to get my money back for food I never received. To top it off, I've found that thr "maintenance" was actually due to serious health code violations.Eat your own risk. This place is unprofessional, unreliable, and potentially unsafe. read more

The lamb dum biryani here is my absolute favorite. Super flavorful and the lamb is moist and tasty! I think about it all the time. The chicken dum biryani is also pretty good, but we got boneless so it was a bit on the drier side. Both biryanis come with two sauces on the side. Even at a level mild, the spice is deliciously noticeable. I've also tried the chettinad fish curry and both the plain and garlic naans. Everything tastes so good and I find myself craving it long after I've finished. Drinking water is given as sealed bottled water. Service is friendly and each time I've went there's been plenty of seating. The parking lot spaces are a bit tight and can get a bit crowded as it shares a smaller parking lot with many other businesses. Can't wait to come back again! read more

Saturday dinner service seemed not too bad and there were many open tables. Started off with Punjabi samosas and a sweet tangy dipping sauce- potato stuffing not too spicy heat wise , flaky and still warm when served. Saag paneer was very delicious, with good depth of flavor without heat, and generous amounts of cubed farmers cheese, served with plain basmati rice. I got the lamb dum biryani dish, which came out really piping hot, with cubes boneless braised lamb- no gaminess at all. This dish was very spiced and am glad it had accompanying yogurt sauce to cool it down. They had run out of mango lassi so I tried a Bangalore style drink made with Nannari Sharbat: an Indian sarsaparilla type herb syrup with lots of citrus flavor - I felt it was overly sweet but the waiters supplied me with a couple of glasses of ice on request. The servings are meant for two or more people so I took home a lot of leftovers. I wish more places offered a sampler type of dish for single diners like me! Although it was slow, I did notice that some tables took a long time to be cleared and my own table had no napkins, but I just helped myself to the ones at the next table. My husband's boss caters parties from here so i thought id check out what's so magical about this place. It's much nicer than most Indian joints. They just added punjabi samosa to the menu, had to try it because biryani is not part of my palette. Its beautifully presented on a bed of garnish consisting of cabbage, carrots, and cilantro. The garam masala overpowers the rest of the spices but honestly its not too bad. The staff is attentive, provide bottled water and serve with gloves on. In terms of the restroom, it's the nicest one ive seen and is pretty clean. My only wish is for them to add background music to lessen the sound of clanking dishes. read more

This review is regarding a catering order. They have various catering options in a variety of tray sizes. They also have a set number of items on a per person basis and items for you to choose from vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetizers and main entrées and desserts. We ordered for a set number of people and customized the dishes to be all vegetarian. The food was very tasty, delivered hot and good quantities. I was a little skeptical because it was going to be based on set number of persons (their minimum order is for 25 persons), but there was enough for close to 30 guests. Very nice Indian restaurant in Little India in Artesia. Staff are very nice and they have some nice and unique Indian dishes here (recommend the Tangadhi Chicken). Biryani is their specialty but the portions are huge. They also have your regular dishes you find at Indian restaurants such as Paneer Tikka Masala or Tandoori Chicken. Only real negative is the parking lot is very small and parking is very difficult here especially on a weekend evening. Overall, excellent Indian restaurant worth trying! read more

I am becoming increasingly disappointed with takeout and dining out experiences. The price of food has gone up considerably yet the level of service is decreasing. I tried this place for the first time looking to have a good curry. I ordered take out in person and spent more than $20 for curry and 1 Naan. I get home to find out that I was not given any rice. I called and was told that I needed to request the rice. For $22? Really? So now I am making my own rice........I can't attest to the quality of the food yet (my rice is still cooking) but if you get take out from this place be sure to ask for rice. read more

So I have been here like three times and all the three times my experience has been very contrasting. The food was really good at the first visit, mediocre in second and quite unworthy in the last. I got the chicken dum biryani which has a nice authentic taste but between all my visits ,the quality of rice varied. I noticed basmati rice was kinda mixed with the normal one which doesn't boast about the quality ingredients. Also tried the paneer dum biryani which was utterly disappointing. It had the same fried paneer cubes used in paneer chilli that i ordered before which made it quite dry and inedible and not really authentic. It was more of a paneer chilli fried rice if that makes any sense. Moreover we ordered a lot and the dishes kept coming in at its pace but the table was never cleared even after asking them to clear the empty dishes. It was not a delightful experience. We also got the chettinad chicken curry which merely had two pieces of chicken, the quantity doesn't justify the price. The ambiance feels nice and the place is always buzzing but I won't recommend anything else here other than the special biryani they have on weekends if you like spicy food. read more

The service in the Artesia location was the worst ive ever encountered at a restaurant. The server acted like she was doing us a big favor by waiting on us. We never got our drinks till our main meal was over and even then had to go into the kitchen and remind the server. We also didnt get half our order until we were mostly done with our meal. The table next to us packed theirs as they got tired of waiting. The food is ok ( Birayani felt like it was just boiled rice with some boiled chicken thrown in last minute, the other curries were ok) but the service is horrible. If you care about service then Ashoka the great or the Indian Resturant on Pioneer blvd are much better options. They gave us stater brothers bottled water but didnt have the courtesy of providing cold water or glasses. Even with the soda they just gave us cans and no glasses or straws or even bothered to ask. We paid 5.50 for a lemonade which looked like it was a kids size drink in a disposable plastic cup ( looked pre-made though they claimed they were making it fresh and hence we had to wait for it). But what they served was just plain rice with dry chicken and half a boiled egg. There was no flavor to the food. I would just walk over to Anjapar next door and eat the food there. Waste of time and money. The hostess was not very friendly to the customers there although I did not interact with her. We also ordered the gobi Manchurian appetizer which came out super crispy. I've had meals from this Paradise location 3-4 times and the food is consistently good. I always get the Boneless Chicken Dum Biryani. In fact, I have a takeout order of it tonight and am impressed by the quantity of chicken and flavor in the dish! I agree with others that the service for dine-in could be better. The spices in the paneer tikka masala dish were perfect, and not bland like at some of the other local Indian restaurants. The texture of the garlic naan was also good- not crunchy or hard, and instead soft but not soggy. A little pricier than I'm used to for Indian food but good, and the portions were definitely filling. I did not sit down in the restaurant so my review does not reflect service (I saw some other reviews describing slow service). I had called and asked how long it would take for my order to be ready for pickup, and was told it would take 20 minutes. I showed up after 20 minutes and my food was ready to go.
