Brought my boyfriend's parents here, it was their first wine tasting and the owners were so sweet. Because it was a Sunday they said we could try anything on the menu, not just their tastings menu. She was great about educating us on the different wines, the difference between aging them in oak and stainless steel and helping us find wines we would enjoy. They also had live jazz music as well and plenty of places to sit. My boyfriend's parents ended up getting 4 bottles and kept saying what a great tome they had. With it being their first time, I'm so glad at how friendly and informative everyone was here.

Admittedly, we had the place almost entirely to ourselves - I guess a lot of folks headed to the Oregon State fair in Salem on this hot vaporous day. So thank you wine God for an outstanding private wine tasting experience. Amanda led us down a path of whites leading into reds, with a rose' or two in between. Not a bad wine along the trail, with a few exceptional examples of flavors that Bachus would be proud to call his own - white and red blends with Sauv Blanc and Malbec leading the charge. 10$ wine tasting fee per person - waived with a 2 bottle purchase per person.

The wines are made with their own grapes and they have some interesting grape combinations (like Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir which resulted in a fruity red wine) But I eventually opted for the single grape variety and bought a bottle of Chardonnay and a bottle of Pinot Noir.

While not the nicest or fanciest place, it's still nice and almost got a more chill vibe, which is something I can enjoy for sure! Great views of the vineyards and grass "fields" and whatnot! But I have to be honest. We were at a wedding reception (that was a second reception for the groom's family, since the wedding was where the bride's family lives), and there was still enough people for a single bathroom to be a hassle. ESPECIALLY during the pandemic! I'm not sure if they have more bathrooms and would usually allow them all to be used if not for the pandemic, but there was always a 3+ person line to the bathroom! Otherwise though, this place works! I don't drink, but my friends had a good time! Overall I'd have to say we all had a fun time! The owner and winemaker, Chris, is super friendly and enthusiastic about making delicious and affordable wines. They offer several flight options and being a fan of reds, I chose the flight that was all red, varying from light to strong, finishing with a blend. Flights are between $12-15, which is so reasonable, and he waives the flight charge if you buy a bottle. We both loved the red blend so each bought the Reliable Red for $28. Running a restaurant or bar during Covid-19 with the ever changing restaurant laws is challenging. Having this outdoor covered space means you can still enjoy a glass of wine and the beauty of the vineyards while supporting a hardworking local business. Service was fantastic! We really enjoyed our time here and the wines. Definitely local grapes which means Pinots, and even though my preference is for big and bold, I thoroughly enjoyed all of the wines. In addition to the wine tasting, they have another structure for hosting weddings and events. One whole wall opens up which means it classifies for outdoor dining - so no worries about having to cancel if you plan an event here. We are really looking forward to coming back in a month or so when the weather is warmer, the vines are more mature and the flowers abundant. As we left, Chris gave us a map and recommendations for other wineries to visit, all that were already on our agenda which made us feel good about our choices. I liked it, so I emailed, asking if I could visit. My goodness, what a visit! Nancy (Sales Manager) was quick to accept my request, and Gino, who poured the wine, was not only oh-so-cute (in a unique way only us Old Heterosexual Ladies can appreciate) but more importantly, to this Old Lady, Oh So Knowledgeable! Gino not only grew up in Piedmonte Italy but also had recently passed his WSET test so our discussion was absolutely fantastic (I had passed WSET 2 and was self-studying; thus the trip to Oregon, to experience). He passed on insights from the higher certification and gave me really nice charts and graphs to help me understand "stuff." And so charming. Then Pattie Bjornson came out and sat with me a bit, talking with me about the history of the vineyards and winery. WOW. I just wish my brain had been bigger so I could have asked better questions. For someone who is studying wine as a retirement hobby, this was a stellar experience. For those of you who are not?
