Back and better than ever! After being closed for almost a year Parada (née Guelaguetza) re-opened sans deli counter and with a number of tables so you can eat-in. Not sure why they renamed the place, but from what I can tell, the food is the same as before (and by that I mean absolutely delicious). The steak torta and guacamole are my personal favorites, though I've yet to go wrong with anything I've ordered here. Prices are dirt cheap and I've never had to wait more than 10 mins for my food. Im seriously disappointed- ordered 3 Lengua Tacos both the tongue and tortillas were literally microwaved. Mind you were talking $15 for 3 of them, their not cheap- at-least show some respect on the tortillas- it was clearly store bought and on top of that the whole thing was overtly microwaved. A tiny place with several vegetarian options. The best were the cheese enchiladas with green sauce, although they weren't my favorite in HK. There's really no service to speak of; the place is very mom and pop and you're kinda on your own unless you speak up. read more

Really good! My only thing is that they overload (chicken pieces were so large I had to take some out so I could put toppings in), and it takes away from the experience. But all in all, it was a great taco. read more

Stocked up on lunches for the week: Consome de Chivo ($6.00) Mole Poblano Con Pollo ($10.00) Pork Al Pastor Plate ($10.00) Received a call moments after ordering to inform they were out of Mole Poblano. Maybe it's super good since they sold out half way through their day? I am still a sad panda, as that's my favoritest dish every....but both people I spoke with were SOOO super nice that I kinda had to get over my first world self, and get excited about Bistec con Salsa Verde. Delivery time was good. Consome de Chivo was awesome. Super flavorful broth. Tender goat. Spicy. Yum! Tortillas handmade and very good. And that's as good as the order got. Al Pastor flavor was on point. Nice presentation. Though the chicken was as cooked as it could be without venturing from tender to touch. It would be a good enough tender for devouring now. Not sure it'll hold up to reheating in the microwave... Bistec wasn't marinated for half as long as it should have been....and wasn't pounded enough to help tenderize it. Chewy Rice & Beans? Meh. Didn't taste that good, or right. All decent portions for the price...but I'd rather pay more if it meant all meats were tender, and the sides enjoyable. I'd consider ordering again if planning to eat the food as soon as it arrived....but would avoid the beef dishes...try the quinoa to see if it was better than the rice and beans...and probably go with burritos/enchiladas/dishes where everything is mixed together, rather than the entrees where everything stands alone, and really can't help enhance each other. read more

This place has it all....good food and great service! The flautas were great and the green enchiladas were amazing!!! The sauce is sooo good. The milanesa torta was so soft. Starting a new job in Hell's Kitchen and being an Angeleno, I was excited to see the options of Authentic Mexican restaurants in the area. At two weeks in the vicinity, and after looking at some of the reviews here I decided to give Parada 47 a try. I ordered through seamless for lunch to be picked up. I ordered the Pork Tamale and 3 tacos, Chicharron (Pork Skin), Suadero (Beef Belly) and Pancita (Goat Tripe) - yup I'm that adventurous! The tamale had a good flavor but was too dry, but the tacos were far more than I imagined. There were a lot of meat for one taco! You can literally split the meat into two and use the 2nd tortilla for a second serving. It also has the right amount of cilantro and onion. The Chicharron had the right amount of spice and all the meat was flavorful. My eyes was too big for my stomach. I was STUFFED and I still have left overs left. If the tamales wasn't dry I would have given this place a 5 star. I would also say that this place is not your casual eat in restaurant. I would recommend picking up food or getting it delivered. read more

Wonderful food. My family and I ordered a delivery smorgesborg with lots of different things and everything was wonderful. Our favorites were the shrimp tacos and Tex Mex Quesadilla. The guacamole was fresh and delicious and not too garlicky like some others I've had. Overall, some of the best Mexican any of us have ever had. The customer service was great. They didn't have something we ordered and called us right away to replace it. One person in my family is allergic to avocados and they were great about packing separately. Delivery was fast. Quantity was fair but the shrimp fajitas we ordered were not sautéed as mentioned on the menu. Had a pool of liquid in the bottom of the plate, didn't come out sizzling or anything. Thankfully there were plenty of bottled hot sauces to help add some flavor to the otherwise bland shrimp. read more

The word disgusting comes to mind...I ordered their beef burrito and found two rock hard bay leaf rolled up in the burrito along three pieces of beef bone. I could have broken a tooth or choked and died smh absolutely terrible!! I took two bites and tossed the $12 burrito in the trash. I will never order from them again! read more

I was craving Mexican food at work yesterday and everything is either too expensive or too far or not authentic, I was a little apprehensive to order at first based on some of the reviews but I'm glad I ordered. I got the steak enchiladas with mole sauce which came with a side of rice and beans. The portion was huge! I have enough left over for lunch today as well. The mole sauce was delicious, not overly spicy and the beans were delicious. The rice itself was a little bland but once I mixed the rice and beans together I was good. Also, the steak in the enchiladas was a bit overcooked but that mole sauce made up for it. The delivery was pretty fast and the prices were reasonable. I decided to check this tiny place in my neighborhood out and had one of the most memorable meals I've had in a long time! Super home-style Mexican food. I had a tortilla soup that was so delicious - I'm still thinking about it! Lovely Mexican style corn, and a couple of sopes (pumpkin flower and broiled pork). 1.5 stars. Ordered the Steak burrito which was average at best. Went back a second time and ordered the Queso Fundido Dip which consists of Melted cheese with spicy sauce and Mexican sausage. This may have been the worst dip I ever tried. There was barely any cheese and it is the main ingredient. Also ordered the guacamole which was watery. How, How can I express my love for this place! Honestly not much I can say about this place other than the fact that it is incredible. I decided to try this place again, so I got three tacos: carnitas, al pastor, and pork skin. The carnitas was really on point today, minus this weird little stick thing I bit into; al pastor had a dry texture, but great flavor, though I personally do not like big pineapple chunks in my savory foods; and the pork skin was a strange gelatinous pork thing - which I will not be getting again. I'm giving this place 4 stars purely because of the flavor and texture of the carnitas - stick. David and wife are awesome to start with. Very fresh food everyday. Recently RE-OPEN, Parade 47 sets itself apart from the rest. Their tortillas are not factory quality. You can tell the difference. Ordered Delivery - Delivery guy calls me to come down to the lobby (I'm not supposed to leave my desk, reception, ya know) and says he 'doesn't have ID' Seriously?! How do you deliver anyone's food in NYC? Ordered the chicken Enchilada with roja sauce. Got some mess of tortillas with chunky, grisly chicken and watery spicy sauce, covered in shredded lettuce, some indistinguishable white , cottage-cheese-like stuff and radish (?) I was so excited to find an enchilada with red sauce -and expecting a cheese slathered, shredded chicken with sumptuous flavors smothered in a delicious red sauce - and so horribly, horribly disappointed by what I received. Really really BAD EDIT: Almost immediately after eating this (I was too hungry to deal with any other option) I start experiencing severe stomach cramps. Thank god I carry activated charcoal with me. Can't comment on the food, because I had to cancel the order after waiting over 1 1/2 hours for it to be delivered and calling 3 times. After having been told it was "on its way" twice, on the third call I was told the delivery person was stuck waiting to make another delivery, no response to my question of why didn't he leave and deliver other orders now getting cold and soggy. So I asked to cancel and the response was a loud tirade about how he was on his way (I thought he was stuck?) and how she was going to call him, etc. I had to practically shout into the phone to get a word in edgewise and cancel the order. read more
