We noticed a setup directly to our right for a rather large party with personalized birthday invites(seating for about 40 people). Our food came out pretty quickly and we finished eating around 9:15pm. As it was my husband's birthday we were still having drinks and talking. I had made more plans for a little later . Mid conversation and employee comes over and starts cleaning the table with a wash rag (while my hands are still on the table ) Then he proceeds to try and take my drink . I had to stop him and say "I'm still drinking this ". I couldn't believe it . About two minutes later, another employee comes by and says to me " Hey I see you guys are done eating , just want to let you know that a big party is coming over here soon. I asked him if he was asking me to leave . He quickly tried to retract but again let me know that another party would be coming this way . Please remember that at this point while have been at the restaurant for less than an hour! I spoke with a manager who apologized and gave us a round of drinks and a piece of cake for hubby(hence the 2 stars ) but to be honest there are waaaaaay to many restaurants on south beach to tolerate this kind of service . Music pumping and drinks flowing at the bar. Every seat was taken! We had a 9pm res for 6. Didn't take to long to get drinks at the bar, which was good. Just a lot of foot traffic and excuse me's. Got sat a few minutes after 9, which is pretty rare when eating anywhere in Miami. Another + Ordered some apps, got the Hamachi Crudo and the Wagyu Pastrami. Both were excellent. The Wagyu Pastrami comes out in a smoked covered dish. Pretty cool presentation followed by actually tasting as good as the presentation. Excellent! Highly recommended! Also got the Honey Glazed Bacon. Got little bites. We also order salads, wedge which was big enough for 3 of us to split. The Cesar salad is big as well, good enough for 2. As for the main's. We didn't opt for the 55oz Wagyu Tomahawk. This is the 1K steak that comes with a song, dance, and bells and whistles. Smoke machine and brief case is how this arrives. You pay for $1k for that. Not the meat. Well I wasn't, I've been to Tokyo and eaten the best Wagyu graded 9+ for much cheaper. But I'm no meat snob. Plus our group wanted to try different stuff. I opted for the Filet with King Crab Oscar. This was plenty for me, actually a bit too much. I think it's 8oz. Others got the skirt steak and Wagyu strip. For sides we got the Monop Potato which is loaded with caviar! This was excellent. Highly recommended items! We also got Mac & Cheese and Truffle corn. We basically had a feast. Lots of food and lots of happy filled people in our group. But...we had enough room for desserts. The waiter recommended the gold plated chocolate cake. This was amazing! Best I've ever had! Had a chance to visit Papi Steak over the weekend in celebration of a friend's birthday. Upon arriving the door attendant was extremely friendly. The hostess was friendly as well and let me know that as soon as they had an open table she would seat us ( party of 5 with a 9:30 reservation). I ordered 5 green tea shots at the bar, cost $108. We waited about 30 minutes before we were seated. Our table was right behind the hostess stand which is a high traffic area. The place was packed and smaller than I expected. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was lively. I think the food is a bit over priced as I have had much better for less however this is Miami. They did a great job of being attentive and anticipating every need. I would highly recommend this place. It's super sexy and very classy. I had the red grouper.
