It is near imposible to get take out, unplaced and order via yelp, my payment went through and I was given an approximate time for pick up. 5 minutes before my pick up time my order got cancel by the the merchant due to not be able to fulfill the order, that was the only reason. Food tastes good and the lemonade is fine. Their "hot" sauce is mild at best. It smells like dipping salsa. Can't even taste it on the taco. Dipped my tongue in it and it tastes watered down. Because another spot on the southside with good barbacoa is closed mondays we came here instead because it's down the street. I ask at the drive thru if they have barbacoa and they say yes. I ask if they sell it by the pound or just in tacos. The woman handling the drive thru responds that it can be by the pound, in a taco or a burrito. I ask how much it costs by the pound and she asks me to hold on a second because she is busy. Ok no problem, I'm not in a rush. She tells me the price and then I say I want half a pound. I ask if it comes with tortillas and she says no, so I ask how do they sell them like individually or by the pack or what and what the prices are. She sighs and says "gosh lady" under her breath (in spanish. I speak spanish) asks me to hold on a second and comes back with the price. Ok I place my order and before she turns her mic off I hear her sigh and say "gosh this woman" I'm sorry, was I really being a difficult customer by asking you a few questions and the price for two items that are not advertised on your menu? I'm glad the barbacoa was horrible so that I never have to come here again. It had no flavor, an excessive amount of fat globs and was not shredded evenly. They charged us twice , went to go ask for a refund on the double charge following days, said they would and never did. We have been eating at this restaurant for years but today was horrible. We waited 35 minutes for our food and got it only after I went up and asked for it. The waitress was clueless ( and because we go eat there we know it's not her first rodeo) When I went to go ask the lady at the register was already billing me for the food we had not received. When we finally received our meals my wife's was wrong and had to send it back. After we started to eat the lady from the register came and apologized and said in Spanish I am going to fix the Bill she said I am going to take off the drinks. I laughed because my wife had a tea and I had a water. So she left. The lady came back and said I sorry but because I was drinking water she was going to take 10% off on top of my wife's tea. I said no no no you bill me for the whole meal because I would rather pay for it all and you will lose a customer. I come here multiple time a week and have never had anything but a wonderful experience from the staff to the food. I guess if you were looking for a perfect restaurant this isnt it. You will have to wait for Heaven for that to happen. If you are looking for a inexpensive Mexican food experience with people who are truly genuine caring people , this is it! The cheese enchiladas, rice, & beans are good. I love that they use a flavorful enchilada sauce rather than that chunky meaty junk the other places do, I guess people like that but I don't. They've consistently got perfect or near perfect scores from health dept. inspections. The "regular" staff are great & get orders right, my last visit there were new girls that messed up my order so that was disappointing considering my order is pretty basic. I always order to-go and haven't actually dined in the restaurant. Used to go to the Weber location which is now closed, seemed to have a nicer building with indoor/outdoor seating, a bar, etc. This Saratoga location's further from me kind of inconvenient but I go back for the food lol. read more

The seating is very much Wataburger style with booths attached to the wall. If one is on the Southside of Corpus Christi and wants to support small family run business this is a good place to do so. I was there in the evening. Chips and salsa are offered to everyone. I order Huevos Ranchero over easy. They came as ordered. The meal was served with refried beans, Ranchero sauce, chunky style fried potatoes and home made tortillas. The food was tasty. My wife and I went for a Sunday morning breakfast, and were not impressed with the food or the service. I ordered two potato and egg white tacos and two machacado and egg white tacos. I ended up with two potato and egg white tacos with cheese and two machacado and regular egg tacos. My wife ordered two barbacoa tacos, both on corn tortillas, and a side of queso. What she got was two barbacoa tacos, on one corn and one on flour; and no side of queso. Not sure why they decided to bring one and one taco, but they did. The food was just ok. My potato and egg was standard potato and egg, nothing great. The machacado and egg were loaded with machacado, much more machacado than other places. For some people, they may like this a lot, and nothing wrong with that, but it was just a little too much for my liking. My wife could barely eat her barbacoa because there was a ton of fat in it. She had to pick out a lot of the fat to even half enjoy it. On the good side, they do have fresh squeezed orange juice, which is always a plus. I've heard the chicken soup/caldo de pollo is the best in town, but have not tried it. Maybe I'll try it sometime, but not anytime soon after my first disappointing visit. read more

Corpus has good Tex-Mex on almost every corner so do NOT go to this place and have your opinion soiled. Anytime we're in town visiting my family, this is a place we have to stop. The breakfast tacos are great (and bonus for being served all day), and the lunch/dinner was great as well. Service was a bit slow, but the food was tasty so the wait was quickly forgotten. I'm particularly a fan of the carne guisada, the fresh flour tortillas and the tasty cucumber margarita. The one thing I would nit-pick about is the odd way we received a chicken fried steak twice... both times, we received chicken instead of steak.
