Zero stars! Truly awful food. Maybe years ago, this was a restaurant -- now it is just a fraud. The positive reviews you read must false, paid ones. Watery, lukewarm, unintegrated fish soup. Green beans in "tempura" batter swimming in grease. An uncomposed green salad from a bag with bottled dressing. Robalinho fish served cold, without seasoning or flavor, as bad as airplane food. Fish filets in batter swimming in oil, without flavor, room temperature. Rice with seafood undercooked and again lukewarm and without any spicing or flavor. The whole thing a sad waste of decent produce. To add insult to injury, the pretension of the "maitre'd" and the manager was revolting. They pretended that they were fully booked, doing us a big favor to take a reservation the same day -- but of course the restaurant remaining at 20 percent capacity throughout our "meal." After we asked for the check, our dishes all almost untouched, our waitress, a hospitable and attentive person who deserves a better workplace, asked why we were unhappy. We explained that we didn't like to complain, but gave the details above. After that, the "manager" arrived to tell us that we had disliked the restaurant's best, most popular dishes -- implying that we must be crazy to find them bad, demanding an explanation. We again explained, regretfully, why the food was so terrible. No apologies -- just "would you like to share a desert, or just the check"? We'd already asked for the check twice, and the check was all we wanted. If they had an ounce of sorrow about the rotten experience they'd provided, they would have refused to charge us. As it was, we were glad to leave the horrible blaring "music" that rendered normal conversation impossible and escape downstairs to the many kiosks of Time Out Market that offer far better, far more honest cuisine. Stay away from Pap'açorda -- really one of the worst tourist traps in Lisbon. read more
