Unreal ambience. Definitely a must visit, especially when there is a DJ or musician that you follow is playing and breeze from the beach gushing! Didn't try the food, the drinks are mediocre and priced steeply! I would recommend visiting the place for the ambience!

This was such a beautiful! One of the best sirloin burgers. Cooked perfectly medium just how I like it. So juicy and flavorful. I could literally eat this burger every day! Can't wait to go back to the beautiful spot and devour this burger!

Food overall was very mediocre here. Seafood grill - very mediocre. Wouldn't recommend this. The fish had a lot of bones and all the seafood was very bland. Crab tacos - very bland Shrimp ceviche - ok Tuna tostada - good Pina colada - bland and hard to drink since they don't have straws here

Amazing place, right by the ocean with the best activities! Papaya Playa offers restaurants with stunning views, fantastic food and activities to help connect with nature. The staff and their hospitality are out of the world! A few people who deserve special mentions - Jessica (the best beachside Yoga Instructor), Veronica and Marr - our wonderful guest experience managers Would recommend staying at the papaya Playa Project to anyone looking for a beautiful Tulum experience

An excellent spot to chill and lay down by the beach. The bed was super comfortable with some shade included. There was a DJ playing some great chill music. There was an array of fresh juices. I had the hydrating juice and it was delicious! The food is also tasty and filling. I recommend the shrimp fettuccine and bao burger! The staff members were fast and checked on us multiple times to make sure everything was good!

This is probably my favorite hotel on the strip. We ended going twice just to enjoy the views and the great food! You can rent a cabana at their beach club and they have a minimum fee you have to spend per person (I think). We just ended up going to the restaurant and eating and drinking with the view. It's a little pricey, but the tacos (flank steak and shrimp) are to die for. They also have complimentary chips and salsa! For drinks I recommend the mezcal margarita, or the mezcal flight (3 shots accompanied with orange slices). We ended up eating the same thing both times we went for lunch. Even sitting at the bar has a great view!!!!

The food was great here. This pace was beautiful full of art and aesthetics or good picture taking. The food was very sweet and fresh and full of flavors. The plates were not 100% local but it was definitely something you can enjoy. I love the music they play and the service provided was not best because I felt like I wasn't taken care of maybe cause I was by myself, but that should not matter. I tried to attend their parties, but a little too expensive and the lines is long and slow, maybe the season or maybe they need to have solo entries for people like me that don't have groups for a table. I probably could spend much more money there, but I was left out, just cause they don't have solo entries. And reservations are pretty bad too.

My friends and I visited Papaya Playa twice on our Tulum trip. The first night we went to the new moon party and upon entry, you must "turn in" your phone. The reason behind this is so you don't record the party so the hotel does not have a negative impact because of the pandemic... this was a big inconvenience as the property is pretty big and we were trying to meet up with some friends. The cover fee came with a consumption ticket which was not bad. You're able to get about 3 drinks and you will need to recharge your "bracelet" to consume more. The restaurant is very beautiful!! This restaurant has ocean-front views and the music was also great. The entrance of PPP makes you feel like you're in a cool jungle. We also visited PPP for Sunday lunch but we got there late. There was not much of a party atmosphere and it was more laidback. Like most restaurants in Tulum, there is a minimum consumption fee you need to meet to use the facility.

The restaurant is part of a hotel, which has direct private access to the beach. To access the beach if you are not staying at the hotel, you must spend $50 MXN per person (bar or restaurant), which is very easy to do; the smoothies here cost $100 MXN each (and are delicious). There is a large parking lot near the main road for cars and bikes. There is seating at these amphitheater-style in-ground booths or on the deck, both with stunning views of the beach/water. Off to the side is a small dance floor with a DJ spinning chill beats at all hours of the day. It creates an incredibly relaxing vibe. I literally could've stayed at the booths for hours. The food menu is a little limited. It's not the best food I'd ever tasted, or the most authentically Mexican, but it made for a great, refreshing lunch. We each had a smoothie made of fruits+veggies, I had the tuna sandwich, medium rare, and my friend had shrimp tacos. I don't remember the name of my friend's smoothie, but it was green and had avocado in it; so good!! Both the sandwich and tacos were just a bit under-seasoned for my palate, but everything was fresh, so I can't complain. Service was decent, but I think our waiter was trying to trick us into paying cash by telling us the credit card machine wasn't working. When we told him we'd be ordering less if we paid with cash because we didn't have much, he went to "check on the machine." He returned and told us it was being worked on and would be fixed by the time we paid.... So unless he felt comfortable with risking us not being able to pay at the end of our meal if the machine wasn't fixed, I'd say he knew it was working just fine all along. All in all, PPP is a unique experience and absolutely worth a visit if you find yourself in Tulum. Enjoy!

This place is 100% fire!!! The resort is exactly what I was hoping for but the food is off the charts amazing! Everything about our stay so far has been great.. from the staff to the resort to the food, can't say enough good things. This is not a big "resort", it's a boho chic Tulum respite. It's perfect!

Nice place but man, it's expensive. Make sure to know the prices before purchasing anything. The grounds are beautiful.

We went on a Saturday night and it was pleasantly relaxed, which made the whole experience even better. Alex took amazing care of us. He was attentive, kind, and always one step ahead, bringing things before we even had to ask. He also shared great insight about the restaurant and its background, which we really appreciated. The food was as delicious as ever. We always order the grilled octopus and it's a must every time, perfectly tender and full of flavor. This time we also tried a small shrimp ceviche that had a great balance of acidity and spice. We finished with the grilled fish, which was soft, fresh, and really tasty. I skipped the margarita this time, but they are also one of my favorite things to get here. We will definitely keep coming back.

I thought the fish was a little over-fried but my husband liked it that way. The grilled octopus was not overcooked, but in fact very tender, and cooked with this red sauce that made it very juicy. These were their two recommended dishes and I'm glad we got to try them. Just be careful with the water here (like any place in Mexico). I think I got sick because my drink had ice in it, which melted and contaminated my drink. Small mixed ceviche 10/10 - We were pleasantly surprised by the serving size ("THIS is a small?") The atmosphere was very unique, the music was great, they had a DJ, and watching the sunset made the whole experience even better. Definitely a vibe. The food overall was about an 8/10. I tried the sea bass, porterhouse steak, ribeye steak, BBQ pasta, octopus, short rib, and the empanada. My top 3 favorites were the ribeye, short rib, and octopus. The ribeye had amazing flavor, but if you're sensitive to salt, just keep that in mind. The octopus was really good too. I just wish it was charred a little more. The porterhouse also had a lot of flavor, but between the two steaks, the porterhouse looked better while the ribeye tasted better. The BBQ pasta was average, and the sea bass had a little too much lemon for my taste. If you like lemon-heavy dishes, you might enjoy it more than I did. The empanada, however, was my least favorite item on the menu and I personally wouldn't recommend it. Overall, service, the vibe, views, and experience made this place worth visiting, and I'd definitely come back again.

Our group was in the Quetzal nest, high above the trees with open air views in every direction. You feel the breeze, hear the sounds of the jungle, and watch the light change as the sun drops, it honestly feels suspended somewhere between nature and architecture. It's peaceful, surreal, and unlike any dinner setting I've had. The food was good overall with thoughtful presentation and interesting flavors, though a few dishes arrived a bit cooler than expected. Nothing that ruined the meal. That said, you don't come here only for the food, you come for the atmosphere. The setting is so unique and memorable that it's absolutely worth doing at least once while in Tulum. A special experience you really shouldn't miss.
