Camarones a la mantequilla
Jackie X.

My first meal in tulum and definitely didn't disappoint! Like most restaurants in the area, there was a nice wooden seating area with loud speakers and colorful lights. It was night when I came so the ambience was perfect. The servers were nice and attentive and gave great recommendations! My boyfriend and I got the camarones a la mantequilla (buttery garlic shrimp), pesca del día (catch of the day), calamari, and drinks. Everything was so fresh and full of flavor! They were also pretty big portions. Was not disappointed by anything. Everything was super cheap in terms of USD. Would highly recommend to those in central tulum looking for a yummy seafood dinner.

Pulpo a la parrilla

Great location and great atmosphere! The hostesses do a good job for getting you inside lol There was a live band playing classics. For food I ordered the Kaynah salad as I felt like I needed some greens in my diet lol For our main dishes we ordered the rib eye tacos and the grilled octopus. The tacos were good but the grilled octopus was the star of the show - very tender, juicy, and one of the best dishes I had in Tulum. It's a must order!

Fantastic place by famous chef Cessar Castenada. It has a pleasant vibe, great staff , and great atmosphere. Design of the restaurant is very Tulum style and I love the idea of food being cooked over live fire. It brings that extra element to the food itself. Our server Donny was absolutely great. We had Ceviche and Octopus. Both dishes were amazing. Ceviche was super fresh with ideal balance of flavors. Octopus super tender and addition of onion crisps gave it that extra crunch :)). We also tried the mezcal drinks and the were the same top level as the food itself. If you want to try some real Tulum food this is definitely a place to go, you will not regret it. We cannot wait to visit again :)) Muchas gracias por su comida deliciosa :)

Sea bass was ok New York was great

This place is amazing. Super cute outdoor restraunt. They had live music and performances almost every night we were here. I ordered the New York steak, fries and ceviche which was great. We also ordered the sea bass which was ok not much flavor. But the service was good and overall the dinner was amazing.

Shrimp Pasta with pesto & cream cheese

Cute restaurant with live music (band & dj) and occasionally a fire show. The food portions were very small imo. I got the shrimp pesto pasta (I forget the Spanish name for it)...it lacked good flavor. Well the shrimp was soo good but the pasta just was not enjoyable. Maybe it was too much cream cheese, idk but it was a NO! The drinks were delicious though. By far the best margaritas I had while in Tulum. On the site we saw they served drinks with sparklers (one reason why we came here) but unfortunately there were no sparklers to be seen. I did bring it up and our server found a colored flashlight that he shined under the glass lol. Not what I was looking for but I appreciate the effort. I would return for the live music or dj and only order drinks.

The piña colada on the rocks

I came to this restaurant because of the Jamaican hostess I saw at the door. Service was lovely and ambience was beautiful, they had a live band, nice music. I ordered the ceviche and was shocked to find it was sitting in a bowl of oil and it was also made into some sort of rounded hill seemingly held together by mayo and mustard. Literally the worst ceviche I ever had. I do not recommend! I also ordered a pina colada. I asked if it was frozen and blended before ordering they said said buy it literally wasn't! It came over ice. I was annoyed, I still tipped.

Mixed salad

Octopus dish was the specialty of the house and done well. Note that it has a sweet sauce, almost like a teriyaki though smoky. The mashed sweet potatoes it sat on were delicious, as were the grilled vegetables on the side. Also had the mixed salad which was a massive though simple plate of shredded jicama, carrots, cabbage, etc. The drinks recommended to us were the margarita verde (get it with mezcal rather than tequila) and the margarita maracuja. Both were yummy but not strong. The ambiance was romantic and had live music. Note: When the bill arrived, the final price was wrongly added and was higher than it should be. Not sure if the math was done manually, but watch out for that.

I eat at Kay Nah each time I visit Tulum. It's a jewel of a place- good food, good people, and good vibes! I'm not sure if they always have live music, but they did this day and it was wonderful!

Camarones y chili! So good! Couldn't used a tad bit more rice b/c it was great

Loved this restaurant! It was so cute and upscale even though it was outside and no a.c. The food was excellent. The shrimp and lobster were perfect! The calamari was muy bueno! And the servers spoke English. if you're trying to decide where to go...look no further!

This was hands down my favorite restaurant in Tulum!!! We found this place on a happening little block in the city and was amazing. So, even though this is an outdoor restaurant we had no issues at all with mosquitos/bugs unlike other restaurants we attempted to go to. The wait staff was extremely friendly and I absolutely loved the vibe from this quaint little restaurant. Our drinks were really good and our food was delicious. We started with the guacamole and the presentation was A+ and tasted soooo good. I had the boneless ribs and my friend had the lamb chops and both were cooked to perfection and very tender. We both couldn't stop talking about this restaurant as we kinda just found it on accident. So glad we did, this definitely made our trip that much better!!!

Pescado Tikin Xic on the bottom Camarones a la Diabla on the top

BEST MEAL. The setup is so cute - little fairy lights and a wood burning oven in the middle and a bar to the side. Service is very attentive. The owner comes around and chats with the patrons - super nice. I believe his name is Diego. We ordered: - Pescado Tikin Xic - whole fish marinated in a red axiote sauce with vegetables cooked in a stone wood oven - Camarones a la Diabla - grilled shrimps covered with a mixture of garlic on a sweet potato puree, chips of taro and diabla sauce Let me just say, this was the best meal we had in Tulum. The Pescado Tikin Xic was so delicious! Such a unique way to cook your food in a banana leaf. The sauce was amazing and the fish was de-boned (except 2 small ones that I found). The grilled shrimp were massive and the sweet potato puree was a welcome addition to the dish. The taro chips added crunch and the diabla sauce was also spicy and had a kick. I wish we went to Kay Nah more but can't wait to come back again to Tulum!!

This eggplant dish was so good!

Food was not good and it was overpriced for absolutely no reason. Terrible service as well. However, the bartenders were fantastic.

We went on a Saturday night and it was pleasantly relaxed, which made the whole experience even better. Alex took amazing care of us. He was attentive, kind, and always one step ahead, bringing things before we even had to ask. He also shared great insight about the restaurant and its background, which we really appreciated. The food was as delicious as ever. We always order the grilled octopus and it's a must every time, perfectly tender and full of flavor. This time we also tried a small shrimp ceviche that had a great balance of acidity and spice. We finished with the grilled fish, which was soft, fresh, and really tasty. I skipped the margarita this time, but they are also one of my favorite things to get here. We will definitely keep coming back.

I thought the fish was a little over-fried but my husband liked it that way. The grilled octopus was not overcooked, but in fact very tender, and cooked with this red sauce that made it very juicy. These were their two recommended dishes and I'm glad we got to try them. Just be careful with the water here (like any place in Mexico). I think I got sick because my drink had ice in it, which melted and contaminated my drink. Small mixed ceviche 10/10 - We were pleasantly surprised by the serving size ("THIS is a small?") Make sure to make a reservation in advance, especially for Thursday through the weekend. We visited at 8:30 and we felt like it was the perfect time because a lot of the performances began around nine. The service is top-notch. From putting the napkin in your lap to arranging a miniature coat rack to hang your jacket, they pay attention to detail. Not to mention, though the atmosphere takes priority here, the food was also very good. We ordered a steak and the shrimp risotto. The shrimp were colossal. I have never seen shrimp so big. Most of their specialty cocktails are quite acidic and that night I was craving whiskey so I ordered an old-fashioned and it was also very good. I would say this spot in particular is well known for big groups and bachelorette dinners. It is quite loud, so keep that in mind. It's also in line with other nice restaurants in Tulum regarding price, but we felt it was worth it. Lastly, make a note that they charge for water so you're not surprised when you get the bill.

It never felt stiff or overly formal, just lively and fun the entire evening. The food was excellent across the board, but the standout was the tomahawk steak presentation. When it arrived, sparklers, drums, and all eyes on the table, it honestly felt like some kind of ceremonial animal sacrifice in the most entertaining way possible. Over the top? Absolutely. Memorable? Even more so. Great atmosphere, great service, and legitimately great food to back it up. We laughed, ate way too much, and left buzzing from the whole experience. A true 5-star night in Tulum.

The ceviche and fried fish looked good, although we didn't order. Great complimentary tortilla chips - comes with pico, couple salsas (one spicy, one not), white sauce, limes, and chopped jalapenos (also to be used with your food). Started with fries for the table, which were very crispy, and flaky on the inside. As for entrees, Consensus was the fish tacos (especially diablo) were very tender and tasty. The octopus tacos came with good portions, but pieces of octopus weren't very bite sized (not a problem). Shrimp tacos were very buttery. Got the skirt steak (comes with medium sized enchiladas, small portion of rice and bean), which was also alright - tender but not juicy. Also got the hamburger, which was definitely skippable - seemed like ground chicken. Total for 6 people was about $100 (USD), which was very fair. Friendly and fast service.
