When it came out no potatoes but the waitress offered me rice. My friend never got his food bc they forgot to make it although they were apologetic. The part I want to highlight is that I got food poisoning from the food. I woke up at 4am that following day and was throwing up for hours. The food was delicious. The decor/vibe was perfect with shabby chic wooden tables set to be able to view the parade of night life go by. A few street performers came by while we were there. It felt very festive but relaxed- which was my impression of Tulum in general. My boyfriend had the chicken with squash blossom sauce, and it was awesome sauce. He said it was the best meal he had on our trip. I had the lamb with veggies. The lamb and vegetables were tasty and cooked perfectly. Veggies were the reason we came- they are a rare menu item in Mexican cuisine- so I was very grateful to find a restaurant with vegetable options. The best full octopus that I have ever had. I was surprised it was the entire thing. Everything here is cooked on an open fire. Vegetables are roasted and melt in your mouth. I was in tulum for 5 days last week and for 2 dinners we ate at Kay Nah. The waiter pronounced it "Kie-nah". Please eat here you'll get amazing octopus and lobster!!! Best grilled octopus that's slightly crispy edges and flavorful marinate it came out to about $14. And PLEASE get lobster caribe!!! My plate got about 3 halves for $24. You'll never find that price in Los Angeles for even 1 half of a lobster it's at least $90+. Here you get 2-3 they go by a certain weight for this dish. Flavor amazing, veggies amazing. The restaurant is outdoors and beautiful especially at night. I also order mojitos and they were so refreshing! Definitely my favorite spot I visited while in Tulum. Myself and a group of 7 others were walking down the street looking a place to eat when we came across Kat Nah. There was a band preforming on the outside and everyone inside - team members and guest included - looked to be having a grant time. We were able to get sat immediately, even though the restaurant was nearly full, but that must have just been good timing. All the food was delicious and the experience A+. They even made the night extra special when we told them we had a birthday in the group. Sparklers were lite across the restaurant for all guests to hold and the band sand happy birthday. Kay Nah is truly a gem! Better than Kin Toh and Hartwood hands down. It's not pretentious and the location was perfect, it's away from the ridiculously overpriced beach restaurants. It's an open venue yet feels intimate and romantic. My boyfriend and I stumbled across Kay Nah while having lunch next door (can't recall the place but great sandwiches and juices) and decided to check it out that night. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly server who advised us to avoid sitting in the back since food is cooked on a wood grill and it gets hot. We started off with dinner rolls which were yummy, then we had the crab cakes and tostada de atuna. Both were delicious! I had the langosta del caribe and my boyfriend had the rib eye a la leña. The only drink I tried was the zombie and it was very satisfying lol. The service and food were 10/10 and the cost was significantly less than our dinner at Kin Toh.
