To begin with, service is great. The entire staff is friendly, Kind, and attentive. The food is very good too. It was almost a perfect score. Almost. We tried the gyro plate, the falafel, kibbeh, hummus and chicken. All the meats were tasty, and well cooked. The falafel were flavorful and perfectly cooked. My few issues that kept this from a perfect score - I felt both the hummus and tzatziki needed salt and acidity, and the kibbeh also needed a little more salt and wasn't as crispy as I would have liked. These are simple fixes and can be personal preferences. He stand outs were definitely the baklavas, the variety, flavor and freshness were exceptional. The tandoori naan was also fantastic. I'm still sitting in Papafeta's as I write this. That is how good this place is. I usually don't wrote reviews after a first-time visit but here we are. I am compelled. I got the Everything plate that comes with chicken, beef kabob and gyro slices on top of a huge tandoori bread plate. This thing could feed 2 easily but my piggy self ate the whole thing sans a few grains of rice. It also came with a greek salad, rice and some pickled and grilled veggies. The meat was fantastic. Perfectly cooked and flavors were so tantalizing and delicious. The tandoori bread is ridiculous. Made in-house and it's that perfect blend of soft and chewy with a little bit of bake crisp. I would come back just for the bread. Sauces were all amazing just really well done. To top it off the awesome waitress Mayra (I think) hooked me up with a few complimentary pieces of their homemade baklava and other pastry desserts. She put me in an over-the-top food coma that I will gladly slip into anytime. Come try some of the best Mediterranean you'll ever have. read more

We ordered tray #1 cause we had a group with us and everything was delicious. I also ordered Hummus & Jajeek. Pita bread is so fresh and warm. So good. We had plenty of leftovers to take home and enjoy. Our waitress, Christina, was a true doll. She was helpful and attentive and we had a great conversation. She was super sweet with my son and her mother, one of the owners, was a doll too. They gave my son a little treat and let him see behind the counter. I will definitely be returning. This was my first time trying Papafeta and I thought the food was fine. The service here is what really stood out to me. The woman whom I believe is the owner was extremely friendly and attentive and made sure we felt safe in regards to COVID. Our table and chairs were thoroughly sanitized. She also enthusiastically answered any questions we had about the menu which I appreciated. I ordered one of the beef dishes and didn't find the quality of the meat to be that great. It was extremely chewy and difficult to swallow. The fries that came with the dish weren't very crispy. However, the vegetables that came on the side were tasty, and so was the bread. The piece of bread was huge, which was nice. I also had some hummus and a Greek salad on the side. Both were good. As for the place itself, it's very clean and has a modern feel to it. I personally love the vibe they went with. So the service was amazing and I felt super welcome. However, the food left a bit to be desired. Papa Feta opened shortly after I moved away and I kept seeing posts and pictures on social media and couldn't wait to try it at my next visit back. I got to meet up here with a few of my fellow foodie friends for a 3 hour lunch. What a cute and inviting place! The owner, suuuuper nice! I didn't take pictures of everything, but there was Turkish coffee which smelled so good and my friend said it was really good. She also had the falafel plate and got a spicy sauce that she said was wonderful like 20 times, so it has to be good haha. I had the gyro plate and even as my first meal of the day, there was no way I could finish it. It was a large plate of food. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Another friend had the beet salad and that looked divine! I don't like beets, or I would have asked to taste it. She and her husband also split an Everything plate that had such a nice spread of things to try. There was also baklava - which was ahhhhmazing! - but I didn't get a pic because it was too far across the table. If you like fresh Mediterranean, you won't regret coming here. Well she left afterwards and was never seen again, me and my daughter sat down and waited, I say almost 30 minutes later my daughter noticed a to go order was sitting next to the register for at least 10 minutes, it was MY order, she told me check on it , a guy came over from the kitchen and he seemed frustrated and not to friendly, he asked my name and completed the order, it was MISSING, French fries and it was somewhat cold to . Gosh I really wish I could write a higher star review. This place was good but not quite 5 stars which is what I was attracted to in the first place. We stopped by from our trip home from LA and got hungry for some fast service place around Temecula. We first swung by an awesome splash pad/playground but the hunger hit and we decided on this epic place nearby. I know they must just be experiencing some growing pains from opening that they need to iron out first. I ordered three items to go a Pita Gyro, Kids Kabab Plate with Fries, and a Moussaka. It came out to $45 and took about 35 min. I was able to observe a bit while I sat in the restaurant. It's nicely decorated and modern. The staff were all friendly even though you could tell they were busy and they had a steady flow of people. I would stay maybe even too many people to keep up with because they seemed a little rushed and behind on some orders. The best thing you could order here is probably the 4 person family plate. I saw a lot of those go out and they looked delicious. Ok, so the not so good, the food came out hot which was great and as they were bagging up the wife asked the husband to grab tzatziki, unfortunately, whatever he gave us wasn't tzatziki and was some gelatinous white stuff. The fries are sometimes the best part of greek restaurants. We seemed to have two different batches and both weren't the best tasting. The kids actually refused to touch anything of their plate which was the kabab and fries which is their favorite foods and it completely went to waste. The pita gyro was just alright nothing too exciting and not very meat heavy. I found the moussaka to be quite good, in fact probably one of the best I've had in a while, the rice was nice too. However to spend $45 and not get the level of food you were hoping for was a bit of a disappointment. I'm happy to try out this place again in a few months next time I drive by. Something to consider, eating in might be a better option and the family share plate looks great and big portions. read more

I have been in twice now and everything I have tried has been delicious! The first time in I ordered the vegetarian plate with a side of tabbouli. My friend ordered the shrimp plate with the cucumber salad side. The falafel was well seasoned and had more texture than I have had before. It was excellent! The dolmas had subtle but complex flavors. The hummus is made in house (as is everything!). The shrimp was nicely charred without being tough and overcooked. And the tandoori bread was very good. Tonight I shared the Papa plate with a greek salad side. This was so good, and the bread was super good tonight!! There was the perfect char on the chicken, and the tzatziki was the best I've had. The food is fresh (and not fast) so if they are busy, be prepared to wait for your food to be cooked. Relax and enjoy the experience. I enjoyed the food at Papafeta; the presentation of the food served ON the fresh Pita was very nice, and delicious too. I felt the service was inhospitable. We came in on a cold and rainy day, and the man asked us to sit at the table right by the door. I asked if we could sit in the dining area in the back where there were nearly a dozen open tables. He said 'we don't seat people there at this time'. We reluctantly sat in the front where the cold, wet wind from outside would blast us each time the door opened. The funny thing was that after we were seated, five parties were offered the seating in the more comfortable area in the back. This was really frustrating to me. The food was good though. I would have preferred there be more vegetables on the 'everything' plate and that the side salad would be larger. We stumbled on to this place after doing our quarterly wine shipment pick up in Temecula. I was craving Greek food and luckily spotted this place. The restaurant opened 4 days ago by an amazing family that can cook like no other. Papafeta is hands down the best Greek food I've ever had. We kicked off the meal with a hummus appetizer. I don't know what magic they put in this hummus, but it is the smoothest, silkiest hummus I've ever had. The hummus is served with their fresh made tandoor bread. Literally, peeled seconds before setting off the table, the bread was still steaming from the oven. The bread was so soft and the kids destroyed it within 1-2 minutes. I was pretty sad, because I didn't get to try the bread, but fear not, they brought a second serving of the pita without me asking! It's like they read my chubby little mind. A++++ for the service. Our server/sister of owner even offered us more bread after we finished the second helping! I declined the third helping of the bread, but only because we ordered Family Tray One to share. What's makes delicious food more epic? HUGE PORTIONS. There were 3 adults, 3 kids and the tray was suppose to feed 2-3. We barely put a dent in it. The meal came with: (1) Choice of Salad (we went Greek), 2 skewers of Chicken Kabobs, 2 skewers of Kofta (ground beef), generous portion of chicken shawarma, generous portion of beef shawarma, chicken cutlet (sorry, I forgot what it was called), pickled root veggies, some grilled peppers, two types of rice dishes, and 4 different kinds of sauces. This delicious feast was served on another delicious tandoor bread and presented on a beautiful cutting board. When I ordered, I was budgeting some room for a Gyro Sandwich. This is every Greek restaurant's staple and I wanted to make sure I tried it. This place knocked it out of the park. The meat was so tender and well seasoned. The tandoor bread was made fresh in house and served fresh from the stone oven. The sauce is made fresh and compliments the Gyro perfectly. The sandwich was topped with fresh cut tomatoes and super thinly sliced onions to give each bit a refreshing, and not over powering crunch. Amazing. After we meal was done, the owner surprised us with a small sampler of some of their desserts. They know the key to this fatty's heart. Baklava is one of my favorite desserts and a must order after a Greek meal. They explained that they have a café side to the restaurant that serves fresh made pastries/desserts and breakfast. Guess which chubbster left with a massive tin of their desserts? This guy. I also need to give a shoutout to the family. They are the nicest and most generous restaurant owners I've met. Everything here is done with love and passion. Mom starts prepping at 5 am daily to start 10 am lunch service. Sister drives up from San Diego to help out with the meal service. I'm sure the other people working there are family too, but I didn't get a chance to chat with them too much. Also, I love how they explained everything and gave us a cultural lessons about the food from their country. I was well fed and learned to appreciate the food even more! Great job Papafeta! Usually, I give new restaurants some time to get up to speed to get over any opening problems that many have. Some friends of mine tried Papafeta and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. I decided I had to give them a try. The food is Greek / Mediterranean and since I am a big shawarma fan, I tried the chicken shawarma plate. It was abundant, freshly made, and had great flavor. I am also a big fan of the garlic sauce that comes with the plate. For me, I could use a little more garlic in the sauce. That's just me though...if the garlic isn't coming out of my pores then the dish could use a little more. I am looking forward to tasting other items on their extensive menu. The owners are incredibly warm inviting you into their restaurant making sure your meal was perfect. For me, they did a pretty great job! read more

We had so much fun here! The reason we found this place is because all the places in Old Town were full and it was a Saturday night. We would've had to wait over an hour to get a seat along the main street. So we found this place on Yelp, and we were so happy to come here. The food was served on cutting boards and we had such a great time. The stuff is authentic, because we chatted up with the owner so much. She is outgoing, while her mother and sister are more business and yell at her, lol. Delicious, please keep this place alive and well! Support local, small business owners. The food was good, a bit heavy since the wraps are either fried or cooked with oil on the flat top, but the flavor was good. I prefer the wraps that have more veggies inside and the soft pita wrap, but overall the flavor was good. We tried one of their appetizers that was made up of grounded yellow rice / seasoned meat inside which was really good. Get extra tzatziki sauce for dipping. The larger seating area has a bar as well, which looks like it has beer and champagne (not sure if it's a full bar). Had a mango tart cart and saw they also have Space Dust IPA on tap as well so some good draft options. Overall a good option if you're in the mood for some Greek food. I prefer wraps at other places but will probably go back to try some of their other options. read more

We were greeted like family before we even entered the restaurant. Marjon and Miriam helped us decide what to eat, answered questions and provided excellent service. They really make you feel welcome. Then you get the food and wow!! Temecula needed a restaurant like this. Very authentic flavors served fresh with huge portions. We tried the chicken biryani (pictured) and the shawarma wrap. I didn't even get a picture of the wrap, we demolished it.
