My husband and I love the food here. We eat here fairly often. I do the lamb kabobs or chops (rare). He does the gyro plate. We always order to go because we have kids and we don't like to disrupt other people's meals. The workers are always nice. And the food gets done quickly. Portions are perfect. Now for the things that I don't like. I hate their phone system. It's a fake person recording that answers the phone. And I don't know if it's a new thing or by accident but they started rejecting or screening calls. So you can't get through to a live person at the location. I like to order over the phone to avoid the ridiculous extra charges from their online ordering. Taxes are $5, you are paying an extra $5 for the order (service fee + cc fee). When you call the order in, you can avoid the service fee. But all those extra fees make me not want to order from there and also make me not want to tip because I have to pay all these extra fees. Also, with all these extra fees the owners should have money to fix the broken window in the front. It's been like that for over a year now. Again, food and customer service are wonderful. But the nickel and dime-ing with all the extra fees is a bit much. Just seems excessive. and please let us talk to a real person to order. Fix your phone system, please. read more

I wish I could say that I enjoyed the food. The up charges on credit card fees and side orders are a little extravagant. The chicken shawarma sandwich was very small for $14. If you wanted a side order with that they charged an extra $4 which was a surprise because it's hard to see the $4 up charge on the menu. However, the french fries were very good so I'm not really complaining about that. The sandwich was very tangy and the meat was dry. The beef shawarma plate that we got first came out with crispy crunchy beef that you could crunch into crumbles in your fingers. I sent it back and the second was cooked better but the flavor was extremely off-putting. There was an excessive amount of sumac on top of the meat, much more than is needed. Also , the taste of wine (I'm assuming it was in the marinade) was very strong. I thought that the baba ganoush I received as a side was very tasty and smoky. It did have a large amount of olive oil floating on the top which was a tad overkill but, still, it was tasty. The presentation of food was impressive. I must say that the service was very good. There was one server that was serving everyone in the entire restaurant and she was really on the ball. There was only one person cooking in the back so food was coming out a little at a time at our table of eight people. Some of us were almost done eating before the last person even got their meal. There were people at our table that got served first. Then we would see food going out to other tables before the rest of the people got served at our table. To me this was a little disorganized and it would really benefit this restaurant if they were a bit more organized and had an extra employee or two for lunch time. I guess the main issue we had was that the food was not good and it wasn't served to all the people at the table in a timely manner. All the food did come out hot thanks to our stellar server. Regarding returning to this restaurant, I do not think I will be returning. We have other Mediterranean restaurants in the area that have better food. We were one of the first ones in today for lunch. Unfortunately we did not have a great experience. One friends dish the beef Shwarma was overcooked and crunchy sent it back and the replacement was way over spiced. She didn't like it at all. The fries were good though. I ordered the chicken Shwarma with a salad and fries mine were ok in taste. Another friends dish didn't get her meal until way later by the time we were half way done she finally got her dish. Temecula is spreading out more as the housing developments find more land, and the topography adds to the convoluted nature of the city. That's my experience at least. Recently I was working elsewhere in the city and decided that I wanted to explore new eateries above a few favorites, especially in the Middle Eastern category. That's how I found Kabob House, on Yelp. Over the hills and through the ravines was the route Google Maps laid out, and I found myself in a shopping center that also contained an Italian restaurant called Francesca's. I almost went there after browsing the food porn, but I stayed focused and found myself in a quaint dining room with nice use of light and shade. It's popular, too, I realized as the tables slowly began to fill up on a Sunday evening. Not packed, but definitely busy. There's also an active take-out and delivery business (via Uber Eats and Doordash I surmised). A Kabob combo is always a good place to start, so I appreciated the options available, such as Kafta and beef. They offer choices to round out the place and I picked rice with a salad. I could have picked hummus, too, but either way, a handful of triangle cut pita bread are standard. The salad arrived first, I thought I requested the Greek style but the Caesar was actually very good and I didn't complain. The meal arrived on a large, heavy plate with tall sides (why don't more places do that?) and beautifully arranged. Very colorful, with a few dashes of sumac as garnish. The beef was a tad overcooked and a little smaller in portion than other places I've been, but the Kafta was moist and had fresh herbs and spices. Clearly the better of the two, but the collective experience was satisfying. I liked the rice pilaf and pita, and I was full afterwards. I noticed that they have an extensive wine variety, but I suppose you'd have to ask for a list. Something to keep in mind, especially if there are wines by the glass. A Spanish varietal red or Syrah would be perfect for beef and lamb dishes, unoaked Chardonnay or Voignier for chicken plates. Next time I'll explore the Shawarma options and an appetizer or something. read more

Out in the middle of Temecula you'll find this gem of a Mediterranean cuisine. Decent sized restaurant with some outdoor seating and indoor seating. Their have everything you would want to have in such cuisine. Lots of appetizers, plates and sandwiches to choose from. I am always and forever going to be a fan of kabobs so I had already decided on getting the kabob combination with Kafta and Chicken kabob. It comes with choice of a couple sides and I had chosen the rice and hummus. To start, I had ordered some falafel which were nice and crispy. The kabobs were declining and the hummus was very tasty and presented very well. I also had a bite of the lamb kabob and it was one of the most tender cuts I've ever had so it's highly recommended. The food was good, the hummus was tasty the baba ghanoush tasted too burnt. They did not have the drink we wanted that was on their menu, the service was quite slow, after we ordered there were many takeout orders that came out plus all of the appetizers for other tables that placed those orders long after ours was placed, so getting our food took way too long. Oh my gosh I just love middle eastern food! My bf surprised me with a new spot to try out and I was extremely thrilled. It's super cute inside, not a huge spot, but a hidden gem for sure. The service was great although at the time we were the only table I feel like our waitress would've been just as attentive and friendly. We decided to try the beef boreg as an appetizer. A dish I've never had before but loved the savory flavors mixed with the warm spices and the tangy tzatziki. I am a gyro fiend so i had to order that along with the rice. The meat was so tender and flavorful. The tangy tzatziki, the fresh tomato and onion, ugh, so good. I loved the lemony rice topped with sumac (I'm guessing?). My bf tried the chicken kabob plate with hummus and rice as well. The chicken was so moist and had amazing flavors, I really enjoyed the bit of tartness of the hummus as well. Hands down one of the best meals I've had this week. My family and I stopped into Kabob house after a long day of working at a vendor market in San Diego. We stopped by Kabob house and it was starting to get crowded. We were greeted by Ara who is also the owner. She was amazing. Every dish we ordered was fresh, delicious, and so beautifully plated. We ordered the baba ganush, hummus, pita bread and Brussel sprouts. So so delicious. That was our appetizers we also ordered the shwarma and lamb plate with rice and tabuleh. The food here is actually really good, but everything else was a bit disorganized. First, we ordered a couple of things, and then they came back to tell us they were out of stock, so we had to pick something else. (They did give us a 20% discount because of this, so we weren't bothered by that part). But when our food finally came out, our plates were completely mixed up he had all my sides and I had all of his. Because we ordered totally different styles (he had chopped meat with loose rice and sauce on the side, and I had kabobs with liquid sauces), we couldn't just swap the food ourselves. Like, what were we supposed to do, lean over each other and trade bites? The kitchen apparently knew they messed up before sending it out, but they just served it anyway and expected us to deal with it. We had to send it back just so they could swap the meats onto the right plates. Not sure why they didn't think of doing that in the first place. To top it all off, it states they accept credit cards, but they fail to mention there's an 8.5% fee for paying with anything other than cash mind you, there was already a 3.5% service charge on top of that. Tried Kabob House on a whim and was pleasantly surprised by my experience. I tried the chicken shawarma, gyro wrap, lemon chicken soup, and hummus. The shawarma was not what I was expecting since it wasn't shaved off a spit but was very juicy and well seasoned. The lamb and beef gyro meat was also juicy and seasoned well, the hummus was aided by fresh pomegranate seeds which added an unusually bright dimension, but the real star of the show was the lemon chicken soup. Light, lemony, and savory, I pondered this soup's mystical curative properties so deeply I started to wish I was hungover just to be able to put the mysticism to the test. I'm going to be super fair & honest with this review, Specially because I've been eating at Kabob House since it first opened. The prices used to be great. Not only for the quality of food, you were getting, but the serving sizes aligned with what you paid. Fast forward to the last 2 years (give or take) and the prices have slowly been increasing. Flavor is still somewhat there. I will say, that the customer services from the girls up front is always excellent. Those young ladies are always nice and friendly and because of this I'm giving them a 3.5 star. I picked up my mom's order the other day and I was shocked that she paid $17.00 for this Chicken Shawarma "Sandwich" (which looks more like a burrito). I honestly thought my mom had made a mistake and had purchased the meal. But nope, this was $17.00 for a (not so big) sandwich. I feel like this is just way too much (for me personally) for such a small wrap. This time around, the flavor was ok. Not sure if maybe they changed owner or cooks. But had my mom ordered the meal with a drink and fries, salad, rice or hummus. This plate would have cost around $21-$22 dollars. So, as much as I would like to keep supporting this small business. I don't know that these prices are worth it when you have places like Applebees and Chili's selling an entire Angus Burger Meal with fries and a drink for $9.99. I hope they consider reducing prices a bit, cause this used to be one of our favorite places. But quality has gone down a bit while prices went up like crazy! This place is has the most delicious food!! First off, the service was really great all of our food arrived so fast. The starters we got were the brussel sprouts, lentil soup and chicken wings everything was a 10/10. Then for entrees we had the chicken and lamb kabobs and a beef shawarma, the meat was the most SUCCULENT kabobs we have eaten, and we eat a lot of kabob so we know a good one when we try it.
