I returned the next day after the Elite Event to order dinner for my family. The food was so good! This time service was better as there wasn't a crowd. I was taken care of very well by Sarah, the owner's daughter. We engaged in friendly conversation and she told me a bit of her family history. It was fascinating to discover that they are from Afghanistan and have brought their exotic & unique flavors to Temecula. How fortunate for us to have them here! I'm hoping for a great success for them. I ordered 4 Moussa's Famous Skewers to go. My family loved the meals. We will definitely return! I love supporting new small businesses especially those who serve up tasty food! Thanks Sarah for superb customer service, sharing your story, and for serving such delicious food!

Moussa's Famous Chicken Kabob Plate. That basmati rice is fire!! Salad was bomb!!

I first tried Kabob Shack at a Yelp event and immediately knew this wasn't a one and done situation. I had to come back... and yes, I dragged my family with me because no one gets left behind when the food is this good!!! It's in Old Town Temecula off 5th St, right next to Our Matcha Place, hiding in plain sight like a delicious little secret!!! First of all, the owners Moussa & Said are very friendly and welcoming it feels like you're eating at someone's home... if that someone is an absolute grill wizard!! We ordered the Spicy Tandoori Chicken Kabob with basmati rice, SPICY in the best way!! Flavor-packed, juicy, and that hummus was absolute fire!! Zero regrets!! Then there's Moussa's Famous Chicken Kabob. Famous makes sense!! The chicken was ridiculously tender, and paired with the Greek salad, which was chef's kiss!!! Fresh, bright, and the perfect sidekick to that flavorful chicken!! And the World Shack Burger, delish!! Oh. My. Gyro!! It's a juicy, savory, herby masterpiece!!! There are 4 self-serve sauces. Yes, 4!! And every single one slaps!! I tried them all like it was my job. No shame!! Honestly, this place does not get enough hype. It's a local family-owned gem and deserves a line out the door!!!

If you know, you know. And if you don't -- it's time. Kabob Shack is tucked just off Front Street in Old Town Temecula, slightly hidden from the main drag. Yes, downtown parking is what it is... but trust me -- this place is absolutely worth circling the block for. What sets Kabob Shack apart? Consistency. Quality. Service. Every. Single. Time. They call their lane Mediterranean fusion -- but it's more like comfort food with a passport. Think American classics reimagined with bold, crave-worthy flavor. Let's talk about The Hamburger. Not your average burger. Not trying too hard. Just perfectly executed. Tender beef & lamb sliced thin and piled onto a soft bun. Fresh, vibrant veggies stacked high like a garden in full bloom. And then the magic -- a lineup of sauces that lets you build your vision of the perfect bite. Familiar enough to feel like comfort food. Exotic enough to feel special. It's quick-serve speed with restaurant-level execution. Casual and friendly inside, relaxed outdoor seating if you want to soak in Old Town vibes. This isn't just a "grab lunch" spot. It's a "why don't we eat here more often?" spot. Deal with the parking. Order the burger. Thank me later.

I placed an order to go which I wasn't really satisfied with. I ordered Chicken Curry. For the price, I felt the portions were small. I would try them again and order something else. For now, I'm sticking with a neutral experience. Not necessarily a bad thing. I will return in the future and order something else.

Food: 5 Service: 5 Ambiance: 3 Kabob Shack is located in the cute Old Town area of Temecula, right by the matcha spot. Upon entering, the restaurant feels quaint, bright, and welcoming, and we were greeted right away by the friendly lady working there. We ordered the Moussa chicken kebab plate, the gyro fries, and samosas. One thing I really loved was the sauce bar. The sauces were all delicious, but my favorites were the garlic sauce and the chipotle aioli. They added so much flavor to everything. The food is made fresh, so it did take a little while to come out, but it was definitely worth the wait. The fries in the gyro fries were perfectly crispy, and the toppings of feta cheese, guacamole, and gyro meat made it super filling. The samosas were also very good, especially with the sauce they came with. The grilled chicken was juicy, fresh, and full of flavor. The grilled veggies were a perfect addition, and the rice paired really well with everything. My plate also came with a Greek salad and pita, and honestly, everything on the plate was really, really delicious. I highly recommend this spot if you're craving Mediterranean style food. I'll definitely be back.

Great food and service! I had the Gyro Pita with fries and it was delicious. The gyro was filling and the fries were nice and crisp. There is also 4 self-serve sauces to top your food off with: House Tzatziki, Classic Garlic, Sumac Chipotle & Mango Chili. They also sell cookies and baklava for a sweet treat. They had a lot of to-go orders going out and they even have a kiosk where you can order your food. The owner was very kind and hospitable. I would recommend!

Located in Old Town Temecula so the parking can get packed. There's mostly street parking nearby and it's located towards the back of the Old Barn building. They have a few seating inside and a few tables outside. I got the falafel platter ($16) with hummus, pita bread, rice, a roasted tomato and jalapeno along with a side of baklava. The falafel was not dry and it was seasoned well. They have a place to self-serve the sauce such as garlic sauce, tzatziki, sumac chipotle, and mango chili, the garlic sauce was my favorite. The staff is nice and the wait time was not long.

Had a really nice lunch at Kebob Shack in Temecula and tried both the chicken kebob and the gyro. The chicken was very moist and well seasoned. The gyro was lean and a little crispy on the edges, nicely sliced, with very excellent flavor. The accompanying sauces added a variety of flavor as well. The business is a little off the main road but is well worth it for a healthy (made to order) lunch. There's adequate and comfortable seating inside and some tables outside as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful explaining the menu. Would definitely recommend this one and hope to return one day.

Ordered a grilled chicken pita wrap on DoorDash. It hardly had any meat, veggies or sauce. It was all pita.

This is my second time eating here. The first time I took my food home for my husband and I to eat. I got two Gyro's to go. I live in Lake Elsinore and they travelled very well. I got there before they open so I waited in the little patio area outside. Had a chance to talk to the owner while he was setting up. Love how passionate he was about his business. Came back a second time with my best friend she is a foodie like me. Of course I had the Gyro again it was as awesome as before meat was seasoned perfectly and lots of it pita did not fall apart while you ate it. They have an awesome sauce station I had the Tzatziki and garlic sauce on my sandwich. I came with a side so I had the salad because I am not a French fry lover. My friend had the Tandoori Chicken she loved it. Place is really clean service is really good. If you are in old town Temecula and are looking for something different it is a must try.

Zaatar fries, hummus, pita, four sauces, spicy tandoori chicken, baklava, Greek salad, and gyro plate.

Family-owned, fast casual hidden gem tucked away on Fifth Street in Old Town Temecula. Order at the counter and sit down. Nice option if you don't want to be at a sit down restaurant and wait for a server. I got the gyro plate that came with rice, grilled veggies, salad, and pita bread. I added on a side of their spicy chicken, zaatar fries, hummus with extra pita, and baklava. Gyro was tender, pita bread was soft, spices on the chicken and zaatar fries were flavorful, and they gave so much hummus! They had a dispenser with four different sauces --the tzatziki and garlic sauce were my favorite. The cashier was super nice and friendly. Answered all my annoying questions about the menu and their restaurant. She also convinced me the baklava, imported from Turkey, was good and she was not lying! It's the best baklava I've tasted. I ate what I could and the next day, shared the leftovers with my coworker. Everything still tasted amazing! Total was a little over $40 which is not bad at all considering it made about 3 servings and I have hummus left over! There are seatings inside and on their patio. They're right next door to the Matcha Place and Gambling Cowboy in Old Town Temecula on Fifth Street --so parking can be a bit tricky but I was able to get a spot in their center. Pro tip for take-out: order ahead of time and just park at the dead end of the street and run in to get your order lol Otherwise, if you're strolling through Old Town Temecula and need a tasty, different, fast casual spot, this place is for youuuuu.

We stopped by here while visiting Temecula, and it was absolutely delicious! I love Mediterranean dishes, and they did not disappoint. The Shah steak fries were amazing--crispy, flavorful, and plenty to share. We also tried the spicy chicken plate, which was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. The customer service was excellent, and even the chef came out and was so courteous. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area!

OMG I initially started going here because it's close to the Vibe & I eat here before concerts but the food is so delicious I started coming here after the wineries because it's the perfect food after a couple of bottles of wine. Now, I just come here because I love it! My comfort food... great customer service , you can just hang out and relax... & my personal favorite is the chicken pita California style (fries & guacamole) Very reasonably priced for the amount of food I get & located right in the middle of Old Town Temecula!!

We went on a Wed at 4:30 and we had the whole place to ourselves. There was someone mopping so you know it's clean. And they had some yummy sauces, not needed but added extra flair. The lamb was my favorite and my mom favored the chicken. There was enough for leftovers. My husband had a bite when I got home and loved the chicken, now he wants to go! So we will be back! Price was very reasonable for his yummy it was and the wonderful staff.

Everything we had was full of flavor that's in harmony. The mantu was soft, creamy, and savory with slight tanginess. The meat from lamb shank was falling off the bone and the rice beneath absorbed its juices. This dish was fantastic but don't sleep on the chicken because it was moist and seasoned perfectly with the spices. This place is a keeper.

Something that I cannot make, something that I've tried, yet the establishment still finds a way to give me a different and enjoyable experience. Boneless Chicken and Beef Koobideh Combo: One of the most dangerous things to order, as both things can either come out as dry, or start off as great, then dry up before you can finish. None of those scenarios happened here. The chicken was soft, juicy, seasoned very well, and it stayed that way. The beef koobideh had this smoky flavor profile, which is different from what I normally expect, and I liked it. Potato Boloni: I've never had boloni in my life, and the closest comparison I have is a Chinese or Korean pancake. The boloni had areas of spiciness, and I think it had room to go higher. It's definitely an appetizer, and I won't mind having it again. Service: There were only 2-3 occupied tables when we went. I think the staff had plenty of time to take our orders, give us water, and the food arrived within a reasonable time. Ambiance: You could tell that the restaurant was designed to host wedding receptions or larger parties in mind. Stage, lights, and a bunch of stuff that may be overwhelming for some. I didn't mind. Good food is all that matters.

Since we were going to be in Hillcrest, we chose Khyber Pass - and wow, what an incredible decision. This was easily some of the best food I've had in a very long time. We started with the Bolani. Absolute perfection. It had a beautiful crunch, perfectly seasoned filling, and none of that sogginess I often run into with Bolani elsewhere. We could've ordered another plate and been thrilled. Next came the Aushak with ground beef: one of my all-time favorite Afghan dishes. Think of it like delicate leek-filled ravioli topped with savory meat and tangy yogurt. It hit all the right notes. We also shared the Kofta Kabob, served with grilled vegetables and fluffy basmati rice. The seasoning was spot on, and the meat was juicy and tender, similar to Persian koobideh, but truly memorable in its own way. Our server recommended the Afghan Yaghoot Chalao (Cherry Curry) with chicken. Yes, cherries! Sweet, sour, rich, bright. I had to resist the urge to literally lick my plate clean. And then: the Qabuli Palao with lamb. I do not like lamb. My friend loves it, so I agreed...and I'm so glad I did. I genuinely loved this dish. The saffron-coriander rice with carrots and raisins was aromatic and comforting, and the lamb was tender and flavorful. If you're hesitant about lamb, trust me, this dish might convert you. Portions were generous, we came hungry, and still left with leftovers. I also ordered the house-made Doogh, a mint yogurt drink. It's not for everyone, but it's pure comfort to me. We finished with hot tea infused with cardamom, black for me, green for my friend, and it was the perfect close to a perfect meal. I told our server that this food was even more delicious than what my mother makes. I'm Afghan born and raised in San Diego. That is not a compliment I give lightly. I believe the restaurant is under newer management since around 2020/2021. I last ate here in 2015, and even back when it was on Convoy in the late '90s, and this is the best it has ever been. I highly, highly recommend Khyber Pass to anyone: adventurous eaters, first-timers, comfort-food seekers, well everyone. I'll definitely be back, and next time I'm saving room for dessert.
